WindWater Hotel
Both times my family and I stayed, was fun.... we had a huge 2 bedroom condo, the kitchen appliances were a little outdated, but was clean. Bring your own plates, pots, "kitchen things", and even dish soap.... floor are tile, which was great for the kids bring sand, and watery footprints. Two couches fold out to beds(bring extra sheet and blanket (they provide one, it is a very family crowded place, huge balconies, we had great water views on two sides of us, and we were able to fish right there all night (BBQ). Not suburbia, but was enjoyable for the family, and inexpensive for the size. Staff was great, was overcrowded in the pool area, a little noisy, which okay because my kids could be kids.... just remember it's a motel-- but with huge space in the condo- convenient access to fishing, and everything on the island... it has all the basics, nothing fancy.

We have been going to South Padre Island for over 35 years. first time at the Windwater. The room was huge with frig and microwave. We walked aroud in the evening and the paseo along the canal was very nice, guests were fishing right out their back doors. I'm sure there are catfish, flounder and sand trout looks like a very nice private and family friendly extra. The linen and towels were equal to any budget hotel we have stayed at. The beach activities retaurants and nightlife on the Island.

Its an older Hotel, that's very apparent, however I was surprised to find the quality of the king suite very good. Very clean and very equipped as far as amenities go. Wifi access in the bedroom and patio area was very usable. It was a decent budgeted experience and on a holiday calendar where overall its expensive everywhere else to stay. Friends of ours who stayed on the same date paid $100 more for a horrible dual queen room at another hotel. In comparison, we were very pleased.

I have stayed here multiple times and never fails the staff greedy with a smile and is happy to help. Was even locked out of our room at three am and young man came out to our room to help us .I've worked in hospitality before and others ask you to come to the front. They just redid some of the room and they are very nice . Housekeeping does great job.and you can beat the location. No breakfast though and I wish check out was later

Comfortable and affordable, pleasant and proficient staff, any problems were quickly seen to. Our dog was welcome without any hassel. We have stayed here for 4-5 weeks for the last 6 years, present management is always improving the accomadations, the beds are very comfortable. Public access to the main beach is but a few minutes away and the hotel pool area is well maintained.

The pet policy was the best i could find and i called around. The free breakfast was not anything spectacular but for the price you cant expect fresh scrambled eggs and bacon at this price. The view of the channel from the private balcony was nice an.d you can fish right behind the hotel. The beach was an easy walk and was absolutely magnificent. We had a delightful stay.

I liked that there was a fishing pier with a decent spot and that the hotel supplied shampoo and soap dispensers in the bathroom , the shower was really nice. The Jacuzzi was relaxing , didn't try out the pool but it seemed nice. We didn't wake up for breakfast so we didn't try it out but it was free so one less meal you have to worry about

Hotel seems to have been updated recently. The room was nice and has comfy beds. There is a pool for the kids, and awesome fishing right of the back of the Hotel property (on the Bay side). The kids caught at least 50 fish while we were there! Staff was friendly and we had no issues. Best deal for the money to stay on the island.

This was our 1st stay at this hotel. Very conveniently located, easy access to the beach. Very friendly staff. The room was clean. The price was very reasonable compared to the other hotels. The parking was a little tight but considering, it was fine. I have no complaints and will definitely stay here again and recommend it.

We stayed in their ling suite, very spacious, loved the outside porch where we can grill and fish and just relax. Ps. They have a jacuzzi, been in many hotels where they have a jacuzzi and its never even warm, well this jacuzzi was HOT, nearly boiled in there, very nice. Will be back.

Just a moment...
