Socorro Springs is fantastic! They have great brews, outstanding burgers, lasagna and service. I am impressed. They are definitely the place to stop.
3.El Camino Restaurant & Lounge
707 N California St
The tall neon sign invited us to pull of El Camino Real and the full parking lot told us we were at the right place. The Senior Menu offered us value priced full plates including the best tamale and beans my partner has eaten in quite a while. Alicia exemplified attentive friendly service. We would definitely go back.

Not a healthy dish in this place, but maybe that's what you are looking for! They have the typical greasy burgers with greasy fries, greasy chicken, lots of other fried stuff, and a big breakfast menu. Some meals served in baskets, some on plates. Breakfast burritos are probably their best thing here and they do stuff to-go. They also own their own coffee company but I haven't tried the coffee yet. The place is brand-spankin' new and while small inside they have booths and tables and a flat screen tv. SUPER friendly owners that you will often see inside cooking or conversing with customers. Stevie's wife own the salon next door. This place is right off the Hwy., exit 150 and make your first left over the bridge. It is next to El Sombrero.

This is NOT Chinese food in my opinion, but a place where they line you up like cattle and let you stuff yourself with Americanized Chinese food. It's just not great unless you are looking for Americanized Chinese, served buffet style where they are in a hurry to rush you in and rush you out as soon as possible. The place is new but the decor is mediocre, vinyl booths, NO Chinese atmosphere at all.

This place is fairly new after replacing the local favorite Martha's Black Dog Cafe. Unfortunately the menu is no longer the same and the decor has been updated. None the less the coffee is EXCELLENT. The local Socorro Springs Brewery sold them their breakfast menu which is great. They do a nice eggs benedict with potatoes. They also have lots of desserts but tend to sell out of the good stuff by the end of the day. We didn't think the lunch options were great. They have live music on Friday evenings and they do an open-mic. The place is super clean with a long bar and stools for internet users, plus tables, and a nice little sofa lounging area. Just east of the main Socorro plaza, across from Gambles Hardware.

This place is on the South end of town off California Street. BUSY during the lunch rush and Friday's. They have some of the best traditional New Mexican food in town and do the best Chile Rellenos in Socorro. Their Rellenos are nice and crispy, smothered with chile and stuffed to the brim with cheese! They also do lots of combo plates, enchiladas, stuffed sopapillas, and also have a couple of non-New Mexican offerings that I have never tried. Their service is prompt and the food comes super quick. All of the ""plates"" come with a basket of hot sopapillas and honey. They have mostly run of the mill beers but now offer a couple of New Mexican microbrews. Plates run about $6-$8.

Pizza is good as usual and the thin crust green chile and bacon is addicting but I would advise to take out if possible. The service is horrible here, the restaurant seems a bit dingy and there is always stuff on the floor. There is also usually a family with many kids running loose and being loud. The salad bar is mediocre. Not recommended for dine-in.

Blakes is known around NM for doing a good green chile burger and they don't fail you at this one! All the food is made to order so you get fresh burgers, fries, etc. Their staff is small and they don't have a drive-thru so you may have to wait a bit for your order but you can wait in your car and they call your number on a microphone. A little pricey but overall good and better burgers than McD's, Burger King, or Sonic.

This place is located on your way to New Mexico Tech, in the same building as Sofia's, right around the corner from Taco Bell. If you want to eat-in you go to Sofia's next door, owned by the same people. Burrito Tyme is their drive-thru. The burritos are awesome and you can custom order or order one of their creations. They do a nice spicy green chile chicken enchilada burrito that I love. The burritos aren't massive but they are a great lunch and only around $3.50. You can also order them as a meal with beans and rice on the side for about $6.00. Also a regular selection of drinks and they have chocolate cake.

Just ok. The service is prompt, food is lacking. They DO make a green chile burger but nothing like you would get in any of the sit down local restaurants. This McD's is expensive compared to some McD's, at least $1-$2 more than Albuquerque. Planning to tear down the building in 2008 and replace it with a completely new one.

This Burger King is only good if you go during the day in my opinion. Who ever works at night never gets orders right and will give you cold food. Make sure you check your bag before you leave their drive-thru, as I have had my order messed up at least half a dozen times. Also you have to ASK for fresh fries. Just OK, but definitely cheaper than the local McD's.
