Recently took my college age daughter there for a checkup/eval. Dr. Brooks was kind and my daughter felt relaxed. However, my daughter is in a lot of pain due to impacted wisdom teeth. We asked Dr. B to prescribe her something, and she said she would. We talked to her about how my daughter took Tylenol 3 and Oxycodone earlier this year (following a tonsillectomy) and had no issues with them. Imagine our surprise when we got to the pharmacy and the Rx was for ibuprofen, which my daughter had already been taking to no avail for several weeks. She left several messages for the doctor, trying to ask her to prescribe something else, and it took FIVE DAYS for the doctor to call in Tylenol 3. Even though she is taking the T3 as judiciously as possible, it ran out with three weeks to go before the surgery later this month. Again, she left several messages for the doctor (to get a refill), but this time, NO ONE EVER RETURNED HER CALL. She also stopped in and was told that no one was available to talk to her. Hearing that, I myself called the practice (ridiculous for a mother to have to intervene for an adult child, but the pain had to stop). I spoke to Eric, who was very kind and helpful, and within the hour, we had a prescription for Tylenol 3. One other issue I have with them is that their xrays are not available electronically to other dentists (we have to go to a specialist for a root canal), which means you'll have to go to the practice, pick up a physical print of the xrays, and carry them by hand to whichever other dentists you want to review them. (Scanning and emailing does not yield good results.) BOTTOM LINE: Nice doctor, nice manager, but the poor attention to the patient's needs is not a good fit for our family.

I take all of my four children for dental and orthodontist needs. The staff is always friendly and professional. The dentists and orthodontists are top notch! Today was a busy day. Even though the dentist was kind enough to double book my son for an appointment, I ended up being late due to 285 construction traffic. Marta was kind and understanding and was willing to help. I told her that I am know I may have to reschedule but she checked and saw an opening and was able to move my son on the schedule. Instead of being quick to state the obvious that I was too late to my appointment, she took the time and checked and found an opening! My son was able to complete his treatment today and all turned out well! No matter how busy she is, every time I come, Marta is sweet, kind and caring. She is a hard worker and gets the job done.

Meadows Dr Amon Dmd Pc
Dr. Meadows is nice and his staff is friendly, but he is ALWAYS overcharging and trying to up-sell. I recently had a dental emergency for an partial retainer while my implant healed, and instead of Dr. Meadows giving me an exam to see what could be done, his team immediately saw it as an opportunity to sell me orthodontics treatment and sell me a whole new retainer. Or when I tried to get a quote on my new crown replacement, his staff said it would be $1,200. When I called my old dentist in MD, he stated it would be $450. That's a dramatic difference. Dr. Meadows is a pretty good dentist, but he take advantage of his patients and is always trying to overcharge them. I love supporting the African American community, but I will have to take my business elsewhere. DO NOT get caught up in the hype, your pockets $$$ will suffer.

I went in today for my first visit and I must say everyone was amazing. The staff was friendly I was greeted by Vlaris at the front desk she was really helpful with all my paperwork. Ruth, Karla and Karen were amazing assistant. I explained to them I was having a bit of discomfort on one of my tooth and they were very helpful. Joyce did my cleaning and she was very sweet and always asking me if I was doing good throughout my cleaning. And finally Dr. Kim was the doctor that checked me and she was very nice and answered all my questions. Overall my appt was quick and went better than I expected. I definitely recommend this office to anyone who may be looking for a dentist office. They truly care about their patients and are really friendly. I'm looking forward to my future visits at Kool Smiles.

Reich Dental Center
By far the best dental experience!! 3 smiling faces greeted us as we entered the office. We signed in for our appointments and within moments were met by the hygienists scheduled to treat my 6 year old daughter and 9 year old son. After a brief introduction, each child was taken back for treatment. Upon completion I was asked to come back to the operatory and meet with Dr. Reich. Dr. Reich's pleasant demeanor was very reassuring and complementary to my children and their hygiene. Both children felt very comfortable and apart of the Reich dental family as if they were patients for years. I would highly recommend Reich Dental Center to any family or friend. We are looking forward to our next visit.

Vivian J Hudson DDS
When I walked in, I noticed a beautiful, peaceful office and a friendly staff, and I only waited 2 minutes to go back into the chair. Dr. Hudson listened to my concerns, and her expertise and knowledge of what I needed, to repair my jaw, mouth, and teeth was astounding. She helped me get my alignment back after a car accident. She also put into perspective for me the order in which the rest of my dental work could be planned. Her and her staff's dedication, efficiency, professionalism, and genuine, family-oriented concern is so appreciated, and these are all the reasons why my loyalty will be with Dr. Hudson. I feel great that I am in good, careful hands!

Reich Dental Center
If you are looking for a really great dentist....look no further. Dr. Reich is a very, very competent dentist. She, and all of the rest of her staff, are great at the job they perform. The hygiene of the facility, of the equipment, and of the staff are at the up most level. All of the ladies seem to be really happy with their job and it is reflected out toward you...they really care. If Dr. Reich were to retire anytime soon she would have to setup a patient chair in her garage, because I would be camped out on her front porch at her home until she took care of my dental needs. Thanks Dr. Reich and staff for being there for us.

The staff, particularly, Eric, the Office Manager, Assistants Ardita and Kim, as well as Dr. Martin and Dr. Brooks, were able to do something for my 16 year old son that has never been done before!! My son, totally petrified with fear, has refused Dental help. I am uncertain what has caused this or what sets if off, but Eric was able to talk to him in such a manner that he was willing to give it a try. By handling my son like the mature young adult he is, they accomplished more than anyone has been able to without major sedation. I am grateful beyond words!!!

I have been to this location twice and both times the staff worked expeditiously and were very helpful. They explained the procedure so that I could understand. My son loves visiting this location. Both times, his nurse was Alisha Holmes, she was very helpful in keeping him calm and helping him understand what was going to happen when they worked on his teeth. I would recommend this dental office to anyone. I initially thought that Kool Smiles was for kids only but now I plan to actually change my dental office to Kool Smiles. Great work Kool Smiles!!

Better communication would be nice and a more friendly staff.I felt like just another number there. The carpet in waiting area needed to vacuumed. There was no handsoap in the lobby restroom.(The restroom my child used whom I assisted)Staff should pay more attention to that.Overall my expectations weren't met.Kool Smiles to me seemed like a cool place to bring my kids until I went inside and saw no smiling faces. (Maybe 2 or 3 staff members I can credit for making me feel welcome there.)
Tips & Advices
  • If a tooth decays and the nerves or pulp (soft internal tissue which helps teeth develop) become inflamed or infected
  • If a tooth is cracked or broken and nerves are exposed
This generally depends on any specific issues you wish to address with your teeth. There are toothpastes designed to whiten teeth, fight cavities, decrease sensitivity, prevent bad breath, resist gingivitis, and those specific to children (with lower fluoride content). There are also toothpastes that offer “complete” protection by combining aspects of many of the above toothpastes.
It’s recommended to get a professional cleaning at least two times per year.
  • Desensitizing toothpaste numbs the nerves in the teeth that can cause discomfort.
  • Mouth guard can protect against grinding teeth during sleep.
  • Fluoride treatment can be applied by dentists to sensitive areas to numb teeth and strengthen enamel.
  • Root canal can treat problems in a tooth’s core.
  • Surgical gum graft where a piece of gum tissue is removed from a section of the mouth to cover an exposed root.
Not everyone needs to have their wisdom teeth removed, but there are certain signs that can help you and your doctor determine if yours should be:
  • Wisdom teeth are pushing other teeth around, causing pain and misalignment
  • Cysts form around newly emerged wisdom teeth, causing jaw damage
  • Gums get inflamed and swollen, causing cavities and pain
  • Doctor determine from x-rays that wisdom teeth will cause problems in the near future

Just a moment...
