The Mosquito Authority
This will be our 3rd season using The Mosquito Authority to make the outdoors livable. I have to admit that I was skeptical when I started seeing the signs, but I was at my daughter's house in Cary the day they were having their yard sprayed for the first time. She couldn't take her toddler outdoors without being attacked by mosquitoes. Her neighbors had the service and liked it, so they tried it. I called her the next day and they had all been in the yard enjoying a mosquito--free day. I immediately got on the phone with the Hansen's and I believe it's the best money I spend for just about anything. Worth every dime to be able to sit outside in the early morning or late evening--or any other time that is bearable because of the heat. I signed up again as soon as I received the information!

Wood Termite & Pest Control
We had been battling a severe ant infestation in our yard for years. Had even had another pest company spray to no avail. Even our Ag-extension agent misidentified the ant. Joe from Wood Termite & Pest immediately identified the ant, sprayed three times a week apart and now we are ant free. Ant Free!! I highly recommend this company and will call them again for any other pest control issues. They are excellent and very knowledgeable.
Tips & Advices
Fumigation is dangerous to pets and humans. Liquid termicides, however, are safe to use around pets.
No. Because termite infestations are considered preventable, most home insurance policies do not cover treatments or damage.
It's best to treat an entire home to ensure the termite infestation is completely eliminated. Spot treating costs less, but increases the likelihood of missed colonies. In addition, spot treatments can make a home unattractive to future buyers.
The cost to eliminate termites varies depending on the method. Bait costs between $150-$300, while fumigation costs $1,300-$2,500. Heat treatment costs around $1 per square foot, so a 2,500 square-foot home would cost $2,500.
The length of time depends on the process used:
  • Fumigation takes approximately five days. The termites die quickly, but homeowners must remain out of the house until the chemicals clear.
  • Bait exterminations can take months to destroy an entire colony. The bait kills termites during the molting process. If an insect eats the bait and does not molt, it is unaffected.
  • Heat extermination takes approximately eight hours and is environmentally friendly. This process heats the home to 150 degrees F.
