HORRIBLE!!! I paid $100 for them to tell me that I don't need glasses, yet I've had them since junior high. I will never return to americas best and suggest everyone do the same.

SEE FULL REVIEW ON FACEBOOK.I am fully aware that this review is very lengthy, but I feel details are important to make my point. It began when I made an eye appointment in mid-October with this location after moving to the area from a different state to renew my contact and glasses prescriptions. I noticed the reviews were both good and bad, but did not have much of a choice as they are one of the few places that accept my eye insurance. Even though I had an appointment, there were many people there and I had to wait an hour before being seen. Once with the actual doctor, my eye exam lasted all of five minutes. I emphasized to him that I have had the same prescription from my old eye doctor for the past two years and could see perfectly, so I would prefer it not to change. He responded that he would be adjusting my prescription slightly, but that I would not be able to notice the difference. He also emphasized that if I wasn't using OptiFree Pure Moist, I was doing a disservice to my eyes and contacts.I began wearing the contacts a few days before we left to go out of the country and was having difficulty with them, but chalked it up to getting used to the new contact solution. We left for France where I continued to have issues with the contacts but blamed it on the cold weather, which I figured must have been drying them out. Upon returning home 8 days later and going back to work, it was apparent the contacts were just not working. When I called to complain, they offered to set up a follow-up appointment for me which I accepted; this was now November. As with the last time, I had a long wait and my eye exam with the same doctor was short-lived. After examining my eyes with the contacts in, the doctor stated that my eyes were perfectly healthy but that for some reason the contacts were not sitting correctly on them. He said they were off by about 30 degrees and that he was shocked I drove to the appointment safely. He claimed that the contacts I was given must have been a "bad batch", and that sometimes if factories who produce contacts change one thing about the production process, it can ruin them. I emphasized again how I felt it was important to return to my original prescription, and again he stated that the change was too minor to be apparent when worn. He reiterated that the problem was not my prescription, but rather the contacts themselves. He DID NOT re-examine my eyes without the contacts in to confirm the prescription was correct. I put my trust in him as a professional a second time and said "okay". When checking out, the employee informed me that because he switched me to a bi-weekly brand, I would only be able to get a 6-month supply of contacts instead of the years' worth I had paid for previously; the brand I had been wearing with no issues for the past 10 years were monthly.Although I was frustrated, I again said "okay" as I was just relieved that I would again be able to see. I gave them back what was left of the contacts from the first appointment, which was 11 pairs of monthly contacts as I had used the trial pair and the first set of contacts while out of the country. I asked for my new trail pair of contacts and they stated they did not have that brand in stock. I emphasized that the doctor had just said I shouldn't be driving in those contacts as I couldn't see in them. After talking with the doctor, they returned with a pair of trail contacts in a third brand separate from the original and from what he recommended for the second set. I put them in and could see better than before, so I left satisfied...
