Doc is amazing! We've been taking our "kids" there for over 15 years. In that time he's seen us through good times and sadly some bad times. During those sad times when one needed to cross the "Rainbow Bridge" Doc has been so kind. I've even seen a tear or two, and let me tell you that means the world. The staff has been known to even give a small piece of chocolate right before. These things are so important when you're losing a best friend. Oh my, the good times are great. He takes the time to get to know your pet, he's so gentle with them if they are scared. Like I say he's awesome! We jokingly call him our pediatrician! We wouldn't go anywhere else!!

Words cannot convey how special Doc Williams is. I would never take our "kids" anywhere else. He'll laugh with you in the good times and I've even seen a tear or two in the bad times. When one of our family members has to cross the "Rainbow Bridge" there is even a small piece of chocolate for them before they take their journey. Sounds like such a small thing, but means the world to the family. If you want a vet to treat your pet like the family member they are to you, then Doc Williams is the place to take your "kids" to.

Dr. Williams is great with birds and reptiles. He shows compassion when dealing with your sick pets. He shares his knowledge with you and helps your pet to overcome any problems, like our dog being afraid of certain things and aggressive towards other things. He has helped us put a beloved pet to sleep with dignity and he and his staff knew how difficult it was. Dr Williams is honest and gives you options. A wonderful vet choice

Heather Ridge Pet Hospital
Dr. Anderson and the HeatherRidge staff are all amazing and have a passion for animals. My family has taken over 6 of our dogs through the years to Dr. Anderson and have nothing but good things to say about her! She knows animals and always gives plenty of options and explanations of what is going on! Definitely a great vet!

Dr. Williams is the best vet I have ever known. I have been taking my animals there for over 10 years and will not take them anywhere else. He is very kind and gentle with your pet and treats them like he would probably treat his own. Very nice Dr. and wonderful staff!!

I'm still getting the feel for the place but I know I like Dr Williams and my dog likes him too.
Tips & Advices
Most 24-hour clinics do not allow owners to stay with their pets overnight. However, many do have specific visiting hours or will let owners see their pets at any point during the day. In addition, owners can call most clinics at any time for an update on their pet's well being.
  • Important phone numbers, especially those of the the veterinary clinic, the animal hospital or emergency clinic, and the poison control center
  • A book detailing pet first-aid steps
  • Copy of medical records
  • Nylon leash
  • Muzzle (only use if pet is not vomiting and has no difficulty breathing)
  • Absorbent gauze
  • Nonlatex disposable gloves
  • Scissors
  • Tweezers
  • Nail clippers
  • Digital thermometer
  • Sterile saline solution
  • Hydrogen peroxide (to induce vomiting only at the recommendation of a veterinarian
  • Milk of magnesia (to absorb poison only at the recommendation of a veterinarian)
Find a 24-hour animal hospital that provides emergency services within your area. Keep the facility's contact information in a place that's easy to locate, such as the refrigerator, address book, or smartphone. Most veterinary clinics operate on standard business hours and are not equipped to handle emergencies.
Veterinary clinics operate on a smaller scale than animal hospitals. The latter are more likely open 24 hours and provide emergency services. The former generally operate on typical office hours and only perform wellness exams and minor surgeries. Veterinary clinics also do not generally perform laboratory tests on site.
The specifics vary depending on the type of visit. For a wellness exam, bring:
  • Medical records
  • The type or brand of food the pet eats
  • Medication (including flea, tick, and heartworm medication).
If the animal needs medical treatment, the following may be helpful depending on the situation:
  • Fresh stool sample
  • Vomit sample
  • Video of the pet engaging in abnormal behavior
  • Substance the pet may have ingested
