Dr. Nivedita S Bijoor, MD
Dr. Nivedita Bijoor, Oakview Medical Associates, is my primary care doctor and has proven to be an expert in treating and managing all my medical needs. I have never had a physician care for me as well as she is doing.I had come to Dr. Bijoor with a number of troubling symptoms that I had either ignored or had been missed in previous medical examinations. Under her care, I learned that I have a serious condition and other potentially serious issues for which I am now being successfully treated. With every referral to specialists, I count on Dr. Bijoor to review the results and coordinate my treatment plans and look for issues that might arise from my having to see more than one doctor. Our journey continues and my overall well-being has greatly improved since we began to work together on my health.I trust Dr. Bijoor to continue managing my care and to help me detect new issues as they may arise.Kathy E. Children's Medical Center
Dr. Whitt and Dr. Rupp are good doctors and I always felt that they cared about both of my children. The problem I have is that we ALWAYS have a long wait. I have had to sit on the sick side of the lobby with my newborn when there were 8 other sick children waiting for nearly an hour before being brought into an exam room. Fortunately, my child just had a cold, but I feel like I exposed him to worse things than the cold he had while waiting in the lobby for an hour. I have also been unable to schedule same day appointments for sick visits (at the Simpsonville office, but I have been offered to try to set up with the Greenville office). Overall, it seems their scheduling has serious flaws and I suspect they are understaffed.

New to the area and so happy I found Dr. Bijoor and the staff at Oakview. Dr. Bijoor is very thorough and takes time to explain and and answer questions. I've also seen April Johnson as well as the PAnd was pleased with the care I received from both. Sometimes there may be a bit of a wait but I think it's because they take the time and care with each patient. I highly recommend Dr. Bijoor and Oakview.

Tips & Advices
This depends on the facility. Patients should call to find out if they'll need a referral from their physician prior to making an appointment.
Aside from hyperbaric oxygen treatment, most wound care centers offer:
  • Debridement: The removal of dead skin and tissue surrounding the wound. This can be done surgically, using a whirlpool bath, syringes, enzymes that dissolve the tissue, or wet dressings that dry on the wound and absorb the dead tissue.
  • Dressing: Wrapping the wound in a protective film, gauze, gel, or foam.
  • Compression stockings: Tight-fitted fabric sheaths that encourage blood flow.
  • Artificial skin: A covering that is applied to the wound for several days as it heals.
  • Ultrasound: The use of sound waves to promote healing.
  • Growth factor therapy: The use of materials naturally produced by the body to encourage quick cell growth.
  • Negative pressure therapy: Creating a vacuum around a wound to encourage faster blood flow to the area.
Depending on where the treatment is administered, hyperbaric oxygen treatment  can cost $100- $1,000. After insurance is applied, patients may have a copay of $10 -$50 or a coinsurance fee of 10 percent to 50 percent.
Most wounds should heal within two to six weeks. An individual should seek chronic wound treatment if a wound has not begun to heal after two weeks or is not completely healed after six.
Most health insurance plans cover wound care. Patients should check with the clinic and their health insurance provider before seeking treatment to be sure.
