Adam P Cormier DDS
Expensive. Whatever your insurance pays, he will double the price and then some, and they want their money up front, or within two payments. Basically, he's a personable guy, but he has too many people on the payroll or who get a piece of the pie--hygenists, cleaners, assistants, etc. who seem to do virtually all the prep work for him--some quite rough, incidentally, and he comes in and spends about 15 seconds finishing off. Alot of chatter and talking among the young women and a fairly arrogant, almost rude group of girls who run the desk. They certainly give you the impression that they don't need your business. They sure lost mine.

Kool Smiles
First time visit. Only scheduled one of my three to give it a test run. Called and had an appointment with in two days, unlike previous experiences of waiting months at times. They have had so many horrible dental experiences I was extremely nervous. To my pleasant surprise my son loved it! He did need additional work done, they scheduled around my busy calendar, gave me an estimated cost for that visit, and was also able to schedule my other two for the same day and time frame! And all will be done in the few weeks before school starts. WONDERFUL STAFF! I couldn't have asked for a better experience!

Pediatric Dental Partners
I hate to right a review like this, but I need to warn other families. You need to do the leg work yourself and confirm how much your insurance company is will to pay for services here. They run around $261 a visit ( cleaning and X-rays) They will not give you correct information on their providers or prices prior to services. Expect to pay cash if using Blue Cross Blue Shield of Louisiana and only expect about half of that back. Unfortunate Experience, they take absolutely no responsibility and consider it a favor to you for even filing your insurance claim.

Palmer, Robert A Jr,DDS
Line Avenue Dentists in Shreveport has a new dentist, Dr. Jake P O'Brien working with Dr. Palmer. I have been using Dr. O'Brien for about 6 months. I have had two cleanings, a cavity filled, and a crown on a cracked tooth in these 6 months. All 4 appointments have gone perfectly. They called me back to the chair promptly just as scheduled. The dental hygienists have been great on the cleanings. Dr. O’Brien has been thorough yet gentile and caring. All work has been done to my total satisfaction. I could not ask for better care.

Professional Denture Clinic
Remembered I had a card from a very pleased patron, Fletcher. He lives in my apartments and came in talking about his experience ,so I told the card. Times passed and I needed help, I went there....I am as pleased as Fletcher was. I found them very professional. Very detailed in sharing information and a complete and clear explanation every step of the way about what needed to be done and how to go about it. Dr John Dudley and the staff was excellent. I am happy and completely confident in the service they are providing for me.

Kool Smiles
My son is extremely afraid of the dentist and has been his whole life. When I took him to another dentist they said he needed work, but they would not touch him. He did get his work done by another dentist at the hospital at that time. This time I thought I would try Kool Smiles and it turned out to be an awesome experience. Thank you to all the staff for being so nice ,and most of all thank you to the dentist who did the work. He's not so scared anymore, and he said, " I learned how important it is to brush all my teeth."

Cosse & Silmon Orthodontics
I shadowed the dental hygienist for a couple of days and the whole staff is amazing, so much so I decided to make them my permanent dentist office. The office allows so much time for appointments so there is no rush and you can ask any questions you have. My whole experience with them was awesome and I've recommended them to at least 3 other people and each one has come back with nothing but compliments to them.

Tips & Advices
  • If a tooth decays and the nerves or pulp (soft internal tissue which helps teeth develop) become inflamed or infected
  • If a tooth is cracked or broken and nerves are exposed
This generally depends on any specific issues you wish to address with your teeth. There are toothpastes designed to whiten teeth, fight cavities, decrease sensitivity, prevent bad breath, resist gingivitis, and those specific to children (with lower fluoride content). There are also toothpastes that offer “complete” protection by combining aspects of many of the above toothpastes.
It’s recommended to get a professional cleaning at least two times per year.
  • Desensitizing toothpaste numbs the nerves in the teeth that can cause discomfort.
  • Mouth guard can protect against grinding teeth during sleep.
  • Fluoride treatment can be applied by dentists to sensitive areas to numb teeth and strengthen enamel.
  • Root canal can treat problems in a tooth’s core.
  • Surgical gum graft where a piece of gum tissue is removed from a section of the mouth to cover an exposed root.
Not everyone needs to have their wisdom teeth removed, but there are certain signs that can help you and your doctor determine if yours should be:
  • Wisdom teeth are pushing other teeth around, causing pain and misalignment
  • Cysts form around newly emerged wisdom teeth, causing jaw damage
  • Gums get inflamed and swollen, causing cavities and pain
  • Doctor determine from x-rays that wisdom teeth will cause problems in the near future
