Incompetent! First, our home owner’s policy was set to start on 01 Aug 2013 (day of closing). Unfortunately due to title issues with the seller, we did not close until late August. I notified the agent that the closing date had been pushed. He said that he would adjust the date after we closed and I would be credited the difference. To complicate this, Allstate sent an inspector out to look at the house on Aug 5th. The inspector identified a list of items that needed to be fixed and gave me a certain time period to make the repairs. Since I did not own the house, I could start on the repairs so this cost me 3 weeks of the allowed time to make the needed repairs. Once we closed, I rushed to make the needed repairs and sent provided photos to the agent showing that the repairs had been made. Even though the repairs had been made and photos provided, Allstate still canceled the policy. My assumption is that the agent did not provide to photos to Allstate. The only reason I was given for the canceled policy was that the repairs were not made. Second, while this was going on with the homeowners insurance, we were also dropped on the automotive side. We moved here from Texas and had very high liability limits on our Texas insurance. When we moved here, I got a quote using the same limits and started the policy. A few weeks into the policy, the agent call me and informed me that Allstate would not allow my requested liability limits in the state of Louisiana. I told him to just set them at the max that Allstate would write for Louisiana. He agreed. A month later we find out that our auto policy had been canceled because he did not notify Allstate of my desire to settle for the max limits for Louisiana. About this time he transferred to another insurance company. So we drove around for 3-4 weeks without coverage. Once discovered, the policy was fixed however I highly doubt that they would have paid a claim during that period. I immediately started looking for a new company. A few weeks later, I spent another few hours trying to satisfy the lenders for my 2 cars, since they received letters from Allstate stating that my insurance had been canceled. I have spent the last 6 months trying to collect my $58 from Allstate for the 3 weeks that I was insuring a house I didn’t own. The new agent has made several attempts to get it fixed but is no longer returning my voicemails, I have to catch him answering the phone (make me feel like a stalker). Hands down the worst professional relationship I have ever experienced!

This company has administration issues. They can never tell you about your policy. We tried to cash it in because of these issues the company once again could not tell us anything. Very poor customer service.
