I really thought that I was going to end up loving my shopping experience at Signature Home Furnishings (Lonnie Watterson Inc.) and found out today that I was wrong. I had done my homework and shopped around all over the place from Dallas to Durant and the piece I had decided on was an Ashley piece that I found at Nebraska Furniture Mart. Then I stumbled onto Signature Home Furnishings, went in looked around and nothing, as I was leaving the store I spoke with the sales person, told them the story that I had pretty much decided on a sofa and was going to return to Nebraska Furniture Mart and purchase it. The sales person asked for the opportunity to earn my business and I said Sure. They worked it out located the sofa, matched the price and I placed the ordered and paid half of the $1200.00. I ordered a 4 piece sectional sofa that was to be delivered to Sherman from the Ashley Mfg. These 4 pieces were 2 weeks out and they would arrive on a Monday. As week two started to approach I called my sales person just to confirm that everything was set for the Monday delivery as previously discussed, just wanted to firm everything up prior to removing all of my existing living room furniture. I was assured that everything was set and I need not worry. Monday rolls around and I get an i'm sorry sir but there was not enough room on the truck and only 2 of the 4 pieces arrived and the other 2 would not arrive until the following Monday. Needless to say I wasn't super stoked about this but I do understand mistakes happen. To make me feel better they brought the 2 pieces to me at no charge. Another week passes and Today is Monday, I place a call at 1:00pm to make sure everything is set for delivery as previously discussed and I speak with an employee that I had not dealt with before and I get the story there wasn't enough room on the truck and they only sent 1 piece YES the exact same story I got last week. I told the lady this was unacceptable and they needed to do something she assured me she would have someone call me rite back. Well at 4:00Pm after no return calls I call again and speak with my original sales person she tells me the same story I had heard and I again explain this was unacceptable and wanted to know what they were going to do. She transfered me to the owner of the store (Lonnie Watterson) who already knew what was happening but let me go thru the whole situation with him and upon providing the full detail he simply said that there was nothing he could do for me it was a mistake on Ashley's behalf and I would have to wait yet another week to get the last piece of my sofa, a month. I told him that this is unacceptable and that he needed to do something for their failure to fulfill his part of our purchase agreement. His response to me was "if you are insinuating that we have not done our jobs then I don't want to do business with you anyway". I told the owner that I wanted to discuss getting my money back and for him to pick up the pieces they had delivered. He hung up the phone on me. I called back and he very sternly told me he hung up because we were done talking. I could not even believe what I was hearing from a business owner. I ended the call, ran over to Nebraska Furniture Mart and purchased the other half of my sofa. All in all I ended up spending 3 weeks waiting, paid $6.00 too much for the two pieces they originally delivered, and was treated like crap by the owner. Buyer Beware! Stay away from Signature Home Furniture and anything Lonnie Watterson has part in!
