Mazzarino's Italian Restaurant
A great experience! What I hate about reviews they are all personal opinions. Also not everyone will have the same experience as the next and as for as waiters go, one just may be as many people having a bad night. It had been a while since I had been to Mazzarino's and the first time since they had re opened. It was during the day when I went and noone was in the restaurant at the time I went. As for as service they were right there serving me and giving me attention. The only thing I waited on for a while was my check, maybe this was because I was sitting on my phone texting and they saw I was not in a hurry.I thought the food was really good and they gave me some extra vegetables I wanted and did not charge as some resturants do when adding to something on a menu.Even when I do have a bad waiter in a restaurants that is not on me as I wish, I do not blame the restaurant I just bring it to the waiters attention so they will do better next time around.People have become way to critical and forget they are not perfect either and have off days themselves! They have a thumbs up from me. The One Up
From the food (all delectable), to the service (super friendly), to the free video games in the back (secure the pong early or it will be claimed for the rest of the night), we all really enjoyed our night here, and will be sure to make it back in again. One thing to be aware of before-hand, is that (like many places in LA now) they won't seat a partial party. In a city with such bad traffic, this is an annoyance, especially when you're the first person there, so plan ahead and don't be late, or someone will have to drown their early-bird status at the bar. Our group had & shared: The goat cheese tots (ermegerd), burger sliders, bruschetta, garlic fries, jerked chicken, & hush puppies. All got high scores, and no complaints were voiced. I tasted a little of most of that and liked it all. Parking can be found on the right side-streets & at meters, but valet is avail for $5. Look for the Spaced Invaders lit logo, east of Woodman, on the north side of Ventura

Marie Callender's
Never been to Marie Callender's before. Went last Sunday on my friend's recommendation and... They had a GREAT selection and had some really yummy pastries for desert. I love the cream puffs and they were plentiful! It costs $14.95 and you get the breakfast, lunch, salad and dessert bar with a drink and a glass of champagne included. Not bad!Our server was very friendly and was really on top of our drinks. I wish I remembered her name! Everyone working there seemed happy and the overall vibe was positive. I definitely enjoyed this buffet.Sure, some of the food was a little greasy and or had been sitting under the lights for a tad bit long but overall I have no complaints. Everything I put on my plate was good. Not bad... it's a good restaurant with decent food.

The Local Peasant
The city vibe comes to Sherman Oaks! This place is like Firefly in that it has a sumptuous blend of scene, snack and sophistication. The food's locally sourced food and does not sacrifice taste in its socially conscious pursuit. My only hesitation to give this one my total recommendation is that it will get MORE crowded. Already an issue on Friday and Saturday nights. But hey, date night in the 91403 is alive and well.

Te'Kila is a OK! Very clean and very helpful friendly bartender. They need to work on quality food for Happy Hour. The three Street Tacos are OK but a little small in size. Their $5 Happy Hour Gigante Taquito is one of their landmarks. It's very good but a little drippy on the oil. Next time I'll just get a regular dinner with rice and beans to fill me up. Still Te'Kila gets my high rating!

The One Up
Love arcades and not a kid? This is it - really interesting appetizers and food in this bar setting - plus an arcade in the back with 400+ choices on the multi-play machines. Prices are a bit high, but the games are free along with that. Parking is unfortunately valet only pretty much in this area, but I enjoyed the One Up for a recent birthday bash with the back reserved

The One Up
The appetizers here are pretty good, but the selection of entrees on the dinner menu was limited. The various arcade machines were cool, but I was expecting more of a variety (board games, etc.). A few of the arcade games that I played on the machines had a lag, which was a little disappointing. Overall, I would come back with friends for happy hour to enjoy a few games.

Oliva Trattoria
My family and I went to eat here and had a great time. My husband and I were a little apprehensive after walking in and seeing table cloths on the table and a quiet atmosphere. Usually restaurants like that see our young kids and cringe. But everyone was very nice and friendly. The food was great and my daughter declared it her new favorite place.

La Cava
Menu had an excellent selection, and the salad and entree were delicious. Server was very courteous and attentive, knowledgable about the menu items, and happy to make recommendations. Very nice dining experience. Small, crowded (quite busy) and a bit noisy, but fun and lively.

The restaurant is great with many TVs, and the music is nice, not too loud. The floor plan is set in a way that we are part of the restaurant in ant seat. I will definitely be coming back. Food is delicious and reasonably priced.
