I was previously an avid GM fan and had been for years. With the switch to Government Motors I decided it was time to give the last true privately held (non government/union owned) US automaker a shot to earn my trust. Gillis proved more than worthy to accomplish this. I would buy again from them and greatly appreciated my buying experience. They did everything they said they would and never once pressured me to change my mind on anything. It was a short time from arrival with my trade in to the time I drove away with my new Ford Mustang. After the sale I had a small issue with minor damage to the oil fill cap and the wire harness to one of the fuel injectors.I knew it was not a warranty issue but on a follow up call from Gillis I mentioned what had happened. The GSM called me back and told me the dealer principal had arranged for me to take the car in for repairs at no cost. I was very very impressed. They definitely earned my trust and my business. In such a profit driven world heavily laden with greed I was impressed and refreshed that there are companies like Gillis that truly care about their customers and display it by their genuine display of generosity and care!

Jim's Auto Repair & Towing
"What a professional group, during the last snow I put my car in the ditch and almost rolled it. I was trying to figure out how I was going to get my car out without rolling it. I called Jims Towing and they arrived in less than an hour. The driver was very caring he had me sit in his truck while he pulled out my car. I was shocked when the driver got into his truck and told me that my car was back on the road. When I got out and looked at my car there wasn't a scratch on it. I was able to get into my car and drive it away. I didn't get the drivers name, but I just want to thank him and let Jim's Towing that if I ever get into another situation like that I will be calling them again. A company you can depend on. Thank you again."

Bought my Edge here and was very pleased with the overall experience. I must have visited four or five times to test drive and research and they weren't pushy at all. Very knowledgeable about the different models and able to answer all my questions. When I was ready to buy, they hunted down a very specific model for me and went the extra mile. Best car buying experience I've ever had! Thank you Jim

Jim's Auto Repair & Towing
I am a repeat customer of this business, both in respect to the towing side and repair side. I am always treated promptly, fairly, and with courtesy. The rates are reasonable, the work is excellent, and the employees are very careful with my vehicles, both in hooking, unhooking, and while in the shop. I would recommend this business to anyone who needs their car towed and/or repaired.

I just had my car there for an oil change. I mentioned to the man on the phone when making my appt. that I noticed an oil leak in the garage along with all of a sudden my car key wouldn't open the truck automatically. He said they would check both things out and they fixed them both without any extra charge. Thank you Gillis Ford.

We were on a trip and had an engine problem with our truck. These guys not only got us in immediately, they gave us a loaner so we could feed the family. They did the work quickly and at a fair price. A local recommended them and I see why. Hard working honest folks, it doesn't get any better. Thanks Guys!

Tips & Advices
Among the common scams pulled are needless repairs, where a garage charges you for work that isn't necessary. Another popular one is attracting customers through a cheap oil change or tire pressure check. Then, when you your car is being repaired, they give you a long list of other corrections they'd like to make, therefore boosting the total cost of your bill. The best way to combat these types of problems is getting a written estimate before work is done so you can see how much repairs are expected to cost. If the final bill is higher than the estimate projected, ask to specifically see the work. Make sure information is put in writing as well. If a problem remains, you can have proof that work was not done to your satisfaction.
For winter driving, features such as the defroster, heater and exhaust system are paramount. Look in your owner's manual for specific directions on how features should be checked and repaired. Many newer cars have a cabin air filter that can be replaced when needed, allowing warm air to continue to flow in. Also, check tires before winter driving, as they need to be at the proper pressure to perform well on snow and ice.
In the spring and summer, you want to be sure your air conditioner and cooling systems work correctly. Given the high temperatures, overheating is a common problem. Look over the system by ensuring there is enough coolant available. If it needs to be refilled, it is best to open the hood and add more to the car before it gets too warm out. Also, clean out fan ducts and other ventilation sources necessary for summertime driving.
Some fixes to your car can be done without paying a specialist. Issues like replacing oil and air filters are relatively simple, with instructions provided in the owner's manual on how to make these changes. The same goes for replacing broken windshield wipers or burnt-out headlights. Such issues should be repaired quickly to guarantee safety, but don't require a visit to a garage.
Yes. Not every type of auto repair work needs to be done by a certified mechanic. You can fix some of a vehicle's issues just by paying attention to how the automobile is running and having a basic understanding of auto repair. Look over the ways weather may impact your car and what preventative measures you can take to avoid having to take it into the shop.
