Great Expressions Dental Centers Shelby Township
I had the same experience as the last reviewer. They are unethical and are trying to rip you off. I too was told I had cavities which I did not have, after visiting another dentist, and that I needed these gum treatments also which I didn't need as well. I 'd stay far away from this place. They are thieves!

Great Expressions Dental Centers Shelby Township
I have been going to this office for 22 years and in the past 4 years this place has become an unethical place for dental work. 1st of all, I'm 55 and a non-smoker and have always had excellent teeth. 3 years ago I was told I had 3 cavities that needed to be filled. Since I had no issues, I was skeptical so I didn't have anything done. My teeth are still fine to this day. Next was last July when Mary (my hygenist for 22 years) told me I had deep pocketing of the gums and had paradonal disease. I was shocked since I never had any issue in the past. She put me on an extensive treatment program with mouth rinse and 3 month deep cleanings. This cost me about $80/visit in addition to my current insurance. In January I had another cleaning so she told me my out of pocket was $109. I got upset and told her I needed a second opinion since she previously rated my so called gum disease at 4-5's which indicate gingivitious. I told her I went through the program late last year and said I was having no issues. She then told me I would need this extensive treatment every 3 mos for the rest of my life and insurance pays only a portion of this. I told her I was getting a second opinion, she got upset and I left. Anyway, this week I seen another dentist whom my friend recommended and I just got back and he did the normal cleaning and told my my gums are a 1 which means they are in perfect condition. My teeth were also perfect. He did the full x-rays and everything. This confirms my suspicion that Great Expressions is a bunch of dishonest people overselling services and wanting to punch holes in your teeth for no reason. I am going to pursue legal action on this since this is just not ethical medical treatment.

Pelton, John M, DDS
Best dentist in Sarasota area! I'm repeatedly astonished by Dr. Pelton & staff's supremely professional service, expertise & kindness. Dr. Pelton sets himself apart in numerous ways from other dentists--he's a patient perfectionist, which can be read both ways: 1) He strives for perfection for his patients' sake; 2) He is particularly patient, exacting & thorough in his expert work. He saved me from pain & further costly procedures by resolving a problem without root canal that could not be fixed by another Sarasota dentist. Dr. Pelton is affable & funny--I call him a "sit-down comic" because he has had his staff and me laughing--even without laughing gas! Also unique to his office: genuine caring; helpful efficiency; sincere politeness & cheerful demeanors; meticulous, soothing atmosphere akin to a spa; state-of-the-art technology, so patients are confident they are receiving safest & latest technological advantages. Nevertheless, there are many more expensive dentists in Sarasota. Staff is exceptional in expertise, warmth & gentle care. Like view of treetops outside windows, it's clear as day that Dr. Pelton's goal is to provide utmost in professional, outstanding & comfortable care. I have had 6 crowns, nightguard & cleanings. Ingrid's expert skill is apparent as her hands instill trust and therefore put patients at ease as she seamlessly handles the often awkward duties of a dental aide. Erika's knowledge is also notably superior to other dental assistants I've encountered, demonstrative of years of experience, while her friendly and gentle manner is very relaxing. Gail and Lorraine are very thorough and gentle hygienists, and Gail actually reversed a deteriorating area of my gums. The newest hygienist is outstanding as well, and even teaches dental hygiene courses despite her young age, so she is on the cutting edge of her field.Sharon sets the tone for an exceptional experience at the Pelton practice with her authentic cheerful demeanor and gracious, above-and-beyond helpfulness. The Front Desk Staff goes out of their way to work around my heavy work schedule with patience and understanding.

Gentle Dental
I wish I found this dental office years ago. I have had the best experience here in this clinic. Dr. Antolak is the best! They got me in right away as a new patient on an emergency basis. They confirmed everything with my insurance ahead of time. They gave me a tour of the clinic when I first arrived, and introduced me to everyone. Everything is digital, so all of your forms can be filled out on your computer or phone before you arrive. They have great communication by text or email. Dr. Antolak even texted me later that evening to see how I was doing and to call him if I needed anything! How wonderful was that!!! They even check blood pressure and pulse ox! My next visit was for my comprehensive exam, and they spend a lot of time with me. I have never had such a thorough exam. When he numbed my mouth for an extraction, I didn't even feel him poke! He was gentle and took his time. I was very impressed, as I really dislike injections in the mouth. I seriously did not feel anything!I HIGHLY recommend them! Give them a call!

Silver Pine Family Physicians
Wow I swear I checked yelp if this place had good reviews or not, two 1 star reviews is a bad sign. I'm currently live reviewing this place.First things first I walk in and there are 14 late 50's people crammed in this tiny waiting room. Bad sign already. I'm a new patient, appointment at 3:10pm, came at 2:45pm.I'm in line to sign in, and I overhear the lady in front of me having issues with payment. Apparently this place continues to ask her the same payment questions even though the staff has documented her case. Sounds bad already that the staff has the same issue with her over and over.I fill out a short form, turn it in and they give me a fancy tablet that has the SAME questions. Why am I filling out a form twice? Whatever, filled it out and now I'm waiting. Looks like there are 3 doctors here. Hrmm. Currently 3:10pm and I'm still in the lobby.3:14pm Someone was just called in for my doctor. So I can only imagine I'm looking at a 40 minute wait. 3:20pm still in lobby3:50pm and still in lobby. Someone complained about the waste of time and they just said reschedule. Do NOT go here

Quinn, Christopher, MD
I started March 13th and am down 19 pounds. I am very happy with my results. I have not yet started a regular exercise program. Have just been keeping track of food eaten and taking Dr. Quinn's vitamins. I would definitely recommend this weight loss program to a friend.
Tips & Advices
This depends on the facility. Patients should call to find out if they'll need a referral from their physician prior to making an appointment.
Aside from hyperbaric oxygen treatment, most wound care centers offer:
  • Debridement: The removal of dead skin and tissue surrounding the wound. This can be done surgically, using a whirlpool bath, syringes, enzymes that dissolve the tissue, or wet dressings that dry on the wound and absorb the dead tissue.
  • Dressing: Wrapping the wound in a protective film, gauze, gel, or foam.
  • Compression stockings: Tight-fitted fabric sheaths that encourage blood flow.
  • Artificial skin: A covering that is applied to the wound for several days as it heals.
  • Ultrasound: The use of sound waves to promote healing.
  • Growth factor therapy: The use of materials naturally produced by the body to encourage quick cell growth.
  • Negative pressure therapy: Creating a vacuum around a wound to encourage faster blood flow to the area.
Depending on where the treatment is administered, hyperbaric oxygen treatment  can cost $100- $1,000. After insurance is applied, patients may have a copay of $10 -$50 or a coinsurance fee of 10 percent to 50 percent.
Most wounds should heal within two to six weeks. An individual should seek chronic wound treatment if a wound has not begun to heal after two weeks or is not completely healed after six.
Most health insurance plans cover wound care. Patients should check with the clinic and their health insurance provider before seeking treatment to be sure.
