My 83 year old father was seen at the clinic on 2/8/17 and other than prescribing blood pressure medicine and testing for flu the just sent us home. He had flu symptoms and out of 6 people In the house that had flu they just sent him home. He has gotten weaker as the days went by. My sister went to this clinic to get him an appt (4:00) and told them we live in SRC but by the time I was able to get him dressed and within less than 5 min they decided he was a no show and told us to go to an urgent care. If you are sick don't go to them on a Friday... They will turn you away and they have showed me that they really care for their patients. I don't know if the doctors were a part of this but their front office leaves a LOT to be desired.

NO PATIENT CARE: After four conversations with the office staff, they still did not make the right kind of appt and misled me about the type of appointment, billed me for it (bc of their error, it was not fully covered by ins) AND DENIED a prescription refill for necessary medication when I questioned the billing. They have delayed returning phone calls and denied to let me talk to anyone in charge. The office manager keeps varying the excuses for why this error happened, explanation of what I should do in the future is not consistent or clear. So they won’t tell you true information when you ask, and if you question what they bill you for, they deny you service, and they do NOT care about patient care at all, they just want money. Staff said I had to have two separate visits to get more copays and more ins money. DO NOT GO TO THIS OFFICE - they do NOT care about your health.

Shawnee Medical Center Clinic
This was a great clinic until St. Anthony took over. Now it's difficult if not impossible to get a message to my Dr. much less be able to see him. We are supposed to be able to see him if we are forth in line at the walk in clinic but we waited in line for a half hour outside in third position only to be told he couldn't see me. I called for a much needed medication around 10:30 this morning and never received a response. My doctor is an amazing doctor. I really wish St. Anthony's hadn't come along and ruined a good clinic.

Dr. Russell Craig Click, MD
Dr Click has been mine and my wife's Dr for about 9 years and we love him. I've never before have had a Dr set and talk to me about what's going on and answer any and all my questions without rushing out of the room. I have a rare disease that Dr Click had never seen or heard of before and that was even more motivation for him to learn about me and my history and my future with this disease. I've been to dozens of Drs that just told me that they didn't know what it was or how to deal with it and sent me on to the next Dr as if to say he's your problem now. He's a very compassionate man and cares for his patients and does his job like no one I've ever been to. I've been to many. Trust me, when your born with a rare disease, you see a lot of Drs and it's very few and far between to find a Dr like Dr Click.

Tenia Skinner, DO
I picked Dr. Skinner as a new resident of Shawnee. She seemed very pleasant. I went to her for heel pain. She gave my Lyrica that I didn't request and ignored my request for anti-inflammatory. When I went to my 3rd appointment, a follow-up and a request for the Mobic, I waited almost an hour before she came into the exam room. I had some questions about Lyrica and decided I didn't see the need for it. A few weeks later, I get a bill for $250. I called to discuss and was told my simple prescription appointment was rated a 4 on her billing because I asked questions and she had to discuss the medicines with me. Seriously? No actual examine performed. No blood drawn, no tests, and she charges me $250! I will be looking for a new doctor!

Ryan Aldrich MD
Myself & my husband are both on medicare & UHC secondary & Dr Aldrich or Dr Clink refused to see us... I didn't know choosing a doctor was like a job interview but it was.
Tips & Advices
A child should see his or her pediatrician frequently during the first few years. Once the child reaches age 3, parents should schedule a doctor's visit at least once per year. Before that, however, the American Academy of Pediatrics suggests parents arrange visits according to the following schedule:
  • 2 to 5 days old
  • 1 month old
  • 4 months old
  • 6 months old
  • 9 months old
  • 12 months old
  • 15 months old
  • 24 months old (2 years)
  • 30 months old (2.5 years)
No, parents should call 911, an emergency physician, or a pediatric emergency physician if a child suffers an acute illness or injuries. Doctors in these fields are more qualified than pediatricians to handle emergency situations.
A well-visit is a routine visit with a pediatrician to track a child's development, discuss medical or emotional concerns, and receive immunizations and medical advice.
Yes, pediatricians provide immunizations for infants and children up through 21 years.
No, pediatricians do not have to be board certified. They're only required to have a state license. However, certification indicates a dedication to studying pediatrics beyond the requirements.
