First Steps Early Learning Center
My son is adhd and I think the way the day care is ran is perfect for him. The kids play in centers they are not aloud to get rowdy. There back yard is immaculate. Toys are not scattered all over the place, like most daycares. From what I have seen from picking him up from outside, the kids play games together and when they are done they pick there toys back up and put them in the appropriate toy shed outside. The SAND BOX IS AWESOME!!!!! it is a converted garage with clean playground sand that has open air sides with lattice so no animals can get in but the children can play in most weather. The back yard is clean because they make the kids pick up after themselves. It is a converted house therefore it looks like a home in the inside. It is cramped but... the children inside are always behaving perfectly sitting in there centers playing legos or painting. I was telling my pediatrician how I thought my son had improved since being with them over the summer. She told me she had heard wonderful things too. I HAVE DEALT with bad daycares. This is not one of them.

Shawnee DHS has always been very helpful with me and those I work with. All you have to do is have patience and be respectful.
