Modern-Air Cooling & Htg Inc
Modern-Air replaced our furnace several years ago and so we called them when our water heater started to have issues. After ordering us a new one and coming to install it, they recognized that there was an error in how we were reading the gauge and told us we likely didn't need a new water heater today. Bryan proceeded to catch another error in how our humidifier was functioning and quickly adjusted it. He ended up leaving and not charging us a thing. That is why you hire people you trust. Modern-Air has integrity and we will always hire them for any needs they can take care of in our home. Thanks Bryan and good luck in the new year!

A-1 Sewer & Septic Service Inc
On a Sunday morning our drain line backed up into basement. After trying to fix myself, I called A-1. With in 1 hour a Plummer named Rob showed up, he was very courteous and pleasant, and looked at the problem. Within an hour he had us up and going to finish laundry, bathing , and doing dishes. I have had other company do work around house, and thought they overcharged , but this was the best. They did not overcharge nor try to sell something you did not need. I have friends who are plumbers but were not able to do the job, because of prior commitments, said got I got a reasonable deal. I highly recommend A-1. Rob did a great job.

I've got a drain problem and about once or twice a year I get a back flow in the basement. This time I called A-1 when I got a sewer bck up in my basement. Rob, the technian, arrived promptly and had the drain cleared withing 15 minutes! Services I have used in the past woulod have packed up and left. Rob ran the snake all the way TWICE to ensure the drain was completely clear. He told me the problem appeared to by a low spot in the line. Rob gave me some advice on steps to take to corrct the problem. Rob also gave me a discount even when my printer failed to print the online coupon. A1 is my go to people from now on!

quick fast service. I have got a back flow problem, that keeps flooding my basement. I had one guy come out 2 weeks ago and clear my pipe but when it backed up after a week, I had a hard time getting him back here. Van broke down. A-1 was recommended to me by him and another friend. Price was right up my alley, Mike the tech was professional. I will use A-1 in the future and recommend them to anyone.

Tips & Advices
The following tools and common household objects can be used to clean drains at home:
  • A plunger
  • A drain snake
  • Baking soda
  • Vinegar
  • Grease-fighting dish soap
Homeowners can mix boiling water with any of the last three products to break up grease and grime.
The main ingredients in clog removal liquid products are sodium hydroxide and sodium hypochlorite. According to the Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry, both break down into relatively harmless components when it comes into contact with water or soil. However, both substances cause mild irritation to skin and internal tissues.
Also known as a drain auger, a drain snake is a coiled device around ΒΌ-inch thick. To use a drain snake, put the end into the entrance of the drain. Turn the handle to force the snake deeper, using extra pressure to force it through the bend in the pipe. Keep turning until the snake hits the clog, then either pull the snake and remove the obstruction or force it through. Once the snake is out of the drain, run the water on full blast for a few minutes to ensure the obstruction is completely removed.
Plungers don't damage residential pipes, but the force created by the act of plunging weakens the seal between the toilet and the floor.
Many plumbers, both local businesses and nationwide chains, offer emergency or same-day services.
