Donovan's Service Inc
I am a service provider that works with Donovan's Service for merchant services and payment processing. As I have been in the shop handling business and paperwork, I have talked to over 10 people waiting to pick up vehicles that have said Donovan's is the best! I am definitely going there now for my personal auto service and any repairs I need!!

I've been using Donovan's since we moved to K.C. (Over 20 years.) I found them when another repair shop advised me I'd have a very expensive repair, so I drove down the street to here. They fixed my car with a fuse, didn't charge me a thing, and sent me on my way. They earned our lifetime loyalty over and over as they've kept our cars in great working order. I cannot recommend them highly enough.

Evans Auto Service
Mark was very helpful and took the time to explain to me what was wrong with my car. He was reliable and prompt. His prices were also very reasonable.

Precision Tune Auto Care
Something new always seems to be broke after they work on my car. I had my headlight bulb changed and they cracked the headlight so it started to collect water. I thought maybe after a couple of different things it was just my car. Changed cars went in for an oil change and had my fluids topped off and now my power steering is whining like it wasn't filled. I try to walk in when I have time and they won't accept me as a walk in I always have to schedule an appointment for my oil change. I'll be returning to Firestone. Precision was awesome when they had the two previous managers but the guy running the place now should not have gone into management.

Calvert's Express Auto Service and Tire
I brought my car twice this week with a heater problem and twice they failed to locate and fix the problem. I paid a great deal of money only to drive away in a car that had EXACTLY the same issues as when I brought it in. Refused to refund any money, insisted the problem was fixed. Yeah, right. Unreliable and arrogant. NEVER AGAIN!

I have used Calverts Express twice now because I was sent coupons in the mail. I got an oil change and they fixed my car’s front stabilizers. I have spent a total of about 4 hours in their office and was not impressed with them because I noticed every time anyone came in, they tried to sell them extra services and every time anyone cashed out, they informed them of major issues with their car. The first time I went I was given a quote for $170 worth of work. When I brought my car back to get the stabilizers fixed and to get the wheel bearings looked at, I was told they miss quoted and the work would actually cost $609. When I told them that there was no way I could spend such a large amount on the car right now, they went back to “recheck” it and told me they were actually wrong and the wheel bearings don’t need to be fixed. I got the stabilizers fixed and asked for them to apply a coupon that I had. They forgot and then refused to recharge my card. They said there was no way they could reverse charges after they’ve been run and that they would give me an oil change for free, but I would have to give my email address and the process would take up to a couple of weeks to have the coupon for the oil change mailed to me. I reasoned that it was worth $15 not to have to come back to do business with them again. One of them I spoke with called me back and apologized and offered to hand write a note for a free oil change, but I did not want to put myself in another position where I am told that I have major issues wrong with my car (when there aren’t any). I would prefer use a shop that I can trust and that I don’t feel are gouging my wallet. The next day I went to get my car inspected and learned that I do in fact have 3 major problems with the car, but none of which were mentioned or brought up while I was at Calvert's. I wonder if their mechanics really know what they are doing.

Calverts Express Shawnee Mission, changed my oil and they forgot one thing, new oil. My daughter drove the car one mile and now the motor is ruined. They want to use their "mechanics" to install a used motor with unknown service records and didn't even want to pay for a rental car while it was being fixed. HOW DO YOU FORGET TO PUT OIL IN? Please help. Anybody know a good attorney that specializes in this type of situation?

I took my car in to get alignment after an accident I had, hitting the curb. The service man said there was no use doing an alignment according to the reading of alignment. He said this was do to something bent in the knee assembly and it would cost $615.00 to repair. $300 of this was for knee assembly. But when I checked prices at a local used parts yard,it was only $150. Calverts says they won't over price because they keep items in stock. Seems to me Gary, you lied. And over priced. I'm not going back. THATS RIGHT !!
Tips & Advices
Among the common scams pulled are needless repairs, where a garage charges you for work that isn't necessary. Another popular one is attracting customers through a cheap oil change or tire pressure check. Then, when you your car is being repaired, they give you a long list of other corrections they'd like to make, therefore boosting the total cost of your bill. The best way to combat these types of problems is getting a written estimate before work is done so you can see how much repairs are expected to cost. If the final bill is higher than the estimate projected, ask to specifically see the work. Make sure information is put in writing as well. If a problem remains, you can have proof that work was not done to your satisfaction.
For winter driving, features such as the defroster, heater and exhaust system are paramount. Look in your owner's manual for specific directions on how features should be checked and repaired. Many newer cars have a cabin air filter that can be replaced when needed, allowing warm air to continue to flow in. Also, check tires before winter driving, as they need to be at the proper pressure to perform well on snow and ice.
In the spring and summer, you want to be sure your air conditioner and cooling systems work correctly. Given the high temperatures, overheating is a common problem. Look over the system by ensuring there is enough coolant available. If it needs to be refilled, it is best to open the hood and add more to the car before it gets too warm out. Also, clean out fan ducts and other ventilation sources necessary for summertime driving.
Some fixes to your car can be done without paying a specialist. Issues like replacing oil and air filters are relatively simple, with instructions provided in the owner's manual on how to make these changes. The same goes for replacing broken windshield wipers or burnt-out headlights. Such issues should be repaired quickly to guarantee safety, but don't require a visit to a garage.
Yes. Not every type of auto repair work needs to be done by a certified mechanic. You can fix some of a vehicle's issues just by paying attention to how the automobile is running and having a basic understanding of auto repair. Look over the ways weather may impact your car and what preventative measures you can take to avoid having to take it into the shop.
