Japanese American Auto Repair
When I first went here I was so exhausted and upset because I went to 9 different places that were all unsuccessful! THIS WAS THE FIRST PLACE THAT WAS AMAZING AND INCREDIBLY KIND TO ME! :) They listened to my issue about my sunroof leaking water onto my driver seat when it rains and they helped so much and made feel very welcome. They had positive attitudes, and made me feel so much better they fixed the sunroof IN MINUTES FOR NO CHARGE!!! They would not even let me tip them! They were very accommodating and told me to come again if there were any issues. I am so happy with their commitment to WONDERFUL customer service that I will definitely be coming back and telling others about this amazing Auto Shop. -Nasra

Aker's
Took my '63 Porsche in for a clutch job. Mark Akers gave me an estimate, and they came in right as promised. Also asked for a check of the brakes. Very, very glad I did. They found a dislocated brake lining up front and two leaking cylinders in the rear. And while they were pulling the engine for the clutch, they noticed a cracked fuel line from the body to the engine. Everything was done for the prices they projected, the car runs great, and they may have saved me big trouble by efficiently fixing things they knew to look for. I'm a big fan of good brakes and avoiding engine fires. Also a big fan of Aker's shop. Nice people. Treated me fairly. Really know 356s. Thanks.

Excellent experience here. Had to bring two cars in in the space of a week for similar (moderately expensive) problems. Interacting with the staff made a frustrating situation bearable. They got me checked in and to work in a loaner in under an hour both times. They diagnosed the problem quickly and called me with explanations of what was wrong within an hour or two, and asked before going ahead with repairs. They were not condescending in their explanations, and followed up to check on how the car was running after I left. These guys will be my go-to business for car trouble while I'm in Seattle.

Pacific Auto Body
Pacific body shop takes care of not only your car to the "T" but to you as well. I know important my car is and how stressful a accident is. Pacific Auto Body went out of their way to do everything they could to make sure no corners were cut, I had the best parts available and that my insurance company, who is really only protection their profits, didn’t take advantage of me or my car.I thank Pacific Auto Body and will continue to spread my good experience like the National Anthem.Share this with your friends too, so they won't risk a bad experiance somewhere else!

Amazing story.... I was driving on the 520 bridge and a man in the car next to me rolls down his window and points to my tire. I pulled off at the next exit and confirmed that my tire was half inflated. I went to Les Schwabb and they had a 2 hour wait to look at the tire. So, I drove down the street to Elliott. They took me right away and out walked the mechanic, the same guy from the 520 bridge who pointed out my flat. They looked at my tire and confirmed that there was no puncture, and filled up my tires for free! Great group of people.

"Front Desk" guy named Chimanda was very knowledgeable and really tried to get us the best price he could. We came in for an alignment , but the techs found an almost broken serpentine belt and also found that two of our tires were the wrong size! We really appreciate them finding these two issues, especially the tire sizes, because that's a safety issue potentially. Chimanda was excellent at getting us the best price and his times quoted for fixing were great. We will be bringing our Jeep in next for tires. Thanks to the team!

You have pure gold in Shelly. She has been so very helpful to me on two occasions. First, just patching a tire. She demonstrated superior customer service, is friendly, fast, efficient and knowledgeable. Has made me a loyal customer and it wasn't by chance or a one time occurrence. I know this because this is my second visit to your store and Shelly helped me with the again with the same courteous and friendly service. Thank you! She is pure gold and is more valuable to you than all the advertisement you could spend in a year.

Whenever my tempermental car decides to break down AGAIN, I rush over to this Goodyear location! Steve has been such an amazing mechanic, I trust that him and his coworkers are always attempting to get my car up and running as fast as possible. Unlike other automotive companies, they quote fair prices and reccommend the essential repairs in order for my car to keep on keepin' on! I'm so happy to have found such a wonderful automotive shop in the Seattle area - you can't go wrong at this location!
Tips & Advices
Among the common scams pulled are needless repairs, where a garage charges you for work that isn't necessary. Another popular one is attracting customers through a cheap oil change or tire pressure check. Then, when you your car is being repaired, they give you a long list of other corrections they'd like to make, therefore boosting the total cost of your bill. The best way to combat these types of problems is getting a written estimate before work is done so you can see how much repairs are expected to cost. If the final bill is higher than the estimate projected, ask to specifically see the work. Make sure information is put in writing as well. If a problem remains, you can have proof that work was not done to your satisfaction.
For winter driving, features such as the defroster, heater and exhaust system are paramount. Look in your owner's manual for specific directions on how features should be checked and repaired. Many newer cars have a cabin air filter that can be replaced when needed, allowing warm air to continue to flow in. Also, check tires before winter driving, as they need to be at the proper pressure to perform well on snow and ice.
In the spring and summer, you want to be sure your air conditioner and cooling systems work correctly. Given the high temperatures, overheating is a common problem. Look over the system by ensuring there is enough coolant available. If it needs to be refilled, it is best to open the hood and add more to the car before it gets too warm out. Also, clean out fan ducts and other ventilation sources necessary for summertime driving.
Some fixes to your car can be done without paying a specialist. Issues like replacing oil and air filters are relatively simple, with instructions provided in the owner's manual on how to make these changes. The same goes for replacing broken windshield wipers or burnt-out headlights. Such issues should be repaired quickly to guarantee safety, but don't require a visit to a garage.
Yes. Not every type of auto repair work needs to be done by a certified mechanic. You can fix some of a vehicle's issues just by paying attention to how the automobile is running and having a basic understanding of auto repair. Look over the ways weather may impact your car and what preventative measures you can take to avoid having to take it into the shop.
