Seattle Medical Associates
My 80 year old prostate cancer surviving Father was jacked around by urologists in Olympia WA for 4 agonizing months while he had to catheterize 4X a day. Twice in 10 years, Dr Gasparich (in Seattle) has corrected the issue w/one office visit. Dr Gasparich is a great communicator, gentle doctor, and one of the most compassionate doctors I have had the honor of meeting. This guy is a straight shooter and wants only the very best for his patients. His staff are efficient, beyond courteous and a pleasure to be around. They put my Father and I at ease after he has experienced unconscionable treatments by urologists in Olympia. My Dad is lucky to be alive. Today has his life back thanks to Dr. Gasparich. Dr. G is a true gem w/an obvious love of people and his work. I cried when we left his office w/joy for my sweet father. Dr. G is a true winner who is worth traveling to from anywhere.

Dr. Thomas James Smith, MD
This is the Doctor you want to see. I travel a lot in my younger years and had many primary care physicians, Dr. Smith is easily the most knowledgeable and caring I have ever had. I have been seeing him for twenty years and my admiration grows with each visit. I have a busy schedule and have always been worked into his schedule when I really need a short notice visit. Dr Smith has seen me through several minor and major medical conditions and I was glad he was there with me. The best way I can describe Dr Smith may sound a little corny now that I'm Sixty. When I was a child my close uncle was a Doctor. Often when I was sick I'd see him at his or my house. Every visit started and ended with a hug and he took every second he needed to make me feel better.... Tom reminds me a lot of my uncle.

Ednea A Simon, Other
We are seeing Dr Ednea for the past 1 year and she helped us to understand our son and his problems in a closer and newer approach. She has helped us to find the right diagnosis for his condition and it helped us to find the right therapies for him. She gave us referral to the appropriate places. His life has changed now and he is able to cope up with his life and school now.. She is wonderful Doctor we found she is our gift sent from God.

Ballard Neighborhood Doctors
This doctor's office is amazing. I have chronic illnesses and they approach my health with a holistic approach and continually encourage me to be part of 'the team' in decisions concerning all aspects of my health. This is small and lovely office with a wonderful cohesive staff that truly cares for their patience. You won't be disappointed - lovely experience to be in their care.

It is easy to trust Dr. Simon's opinion and advice. She speaks from a place of knowledge and authority and answers questions in several ways to make sure we understand. I appreciate her tendency to gather a lot of data so she can be thorough in her diagnosis. She has been my son's neurologist from the beginning and it is reassuring to have someone who knows his history so well.

Ruhlman, Scott D, MD
Dr.Ruhlman and his assistant Leisa are absolutely wonderful! Dr.Ruhlman was recommended to me by a PT, and rightfully so, his expertise (and calm demeanor) is apparent from the first appointment. His assistant Leisa is incredibly kind, patient, and knowledgeable. She is the doctor's right hand (wo)man, and they make an excellent team.

I cannot say enough about our experience with Dr. Simon. She is very well educated in her field, takes time to explain things and listen to our concerns and always has given the best care to Audrey as possible. She is compassionate, caring and goes above and beyond always. We love Dr. Simon! I highly recommend her!

I love this office and Dr. Simon. They are always so accomodating to us especially considering the fact that we live out of town. Everyone here has been so helpful to us and we will forever be thankful for the help and care we have received for our daughter. Thank you so much!

Hodges Wallace R MD PLLC
Certainly the best Doc around. I'm in my 80's & Hodges has kept me alive for close to 30 years... & I'm still going. For every specialist he's sent me to, his diagnosis has always been correct. My cardiologist, endocrinologist & urologist all have high regard for Dr Hodges.

Wonderful experience. Dr. Simon and all of Swedish Peds staff was fantastic. Always concerned with my son's care and needs. Imagine a 15 year old repeatedly saying how nice everyone was. Thank you to all who try to make our stay as comfortable and friendly as possible.
Tips & Advices
This depends on the facility. Patients should call to find out if they'll need a referral from their physician prior to making an appointment.
Aside from hyperbaric oxygen treatment, most wound care centers offer:
  • Debridement: The removal of dead skin and tissue surrounding the wound. This can be done surgically, using a whirlpool bath, syringes, enzymes that dissolve the tissue, or wet dressings that dry on the wound and absorb the dead tissue.
  • Dressing: Wrapping the wound in a protective film, gauze, gel, or foam.
  • Compression stockings: Tight-fitted fabric sheaths that encourage blood flow.
  • Artificial skin: A covering that is applied to the wound for several days as it heals.
  • Ultrasound: The use of sound waves to promote healing.
  • Growth factor therapy: The use of materials naturally produced by the body to encourage quick cell growth.
  • Negative pressure therapy: Creating a vacuum around a wound to encourage faster blood flow to the area.
Depending on where the treatment is administered, hyperbaric oxygen treatment  can cost $100- $1,000. After insurance is applied, patients may have a copay of $10 -$50 or a coinsurance fee of 10 percent to 50 percent.
Most wounds should heal within two to six weeks. An individual should seek chronic wound treatment if a wound has not begun to heal after two weeks or is not completely healed after six.
Most health insurance plans cover wound care. Patients should check with the clinic and their health insurance provider before seeking treatment to be sure.
