We were starting to feel closed in by our home, it was getting a bit tight with space. We already had a garage sale, donated thing and still the space was just not right. So we decided to hire a contractor to help us make the most of the space we have. We started with the closets. We restructured the closets with organizers, doors, cubbies and hanging bars, as well as pull out hampers for the dirty clothes. Next we added shelving in the kids rooms. After that we attacked the laundry room, getting the ironing board installed on the door, shelving, a custom wall unit for soap and laundry supplies and a hanging rod to air dry clothing. We installed high shelving around the perimeter to store things we don't use to often. In the bathroom, we removed the standing sink with a beautiful cabinet! Now all that was left was the garage and the kitchen. The kitchen has always been set up terribly! There is little drawer space and the pantry is not deep enough for a trash can, etc. We were able to make some monir changes that really improved the function. We removed some of the lower shelves in the pantry closet to fit a trash can, then we added some deep, tall drawers, and above that, more structured shelving with less height between the shelves so we didn't have to stack things 5 high to use the area. I am so happy with the results! I cannot afford to sell this house and I was tired of clutter and seeing things on the floor or out of place. You have finally allowed mw to enjoy my home again! Thank you for all your great ideas Jacob & Company!

3 Palms Resort Oasis
It amazes me that every reviewer did not give this great hotel 5 stars. I am a picky person - a professor of law and very critical. This hotel is absolutely amazing for the price. For $55 a night I got a jacuzzi tub in my room, a detached large shower, a refrigerator, TV, free wifi, ironing board and iron, hairdryer, free parking, nice bed and fabulous pillows, and there is a pool and hot tub outside, along with a great gym with a TV, an outdoor TV by the pool, sun decks, and W/D - coins. The location is nice with a nice park with a lake across the street. There is nothing else like this in Scottsdale - it is terrific and an A+ for the price.

Jacob & Company recently installed new wood floors in my house and they look amazing. I was tired of having carpet and already new I am not a huge fan of tile. We thought we would try something different and I am so pleased with the results. Our rooms look bigger and more finished around our personal decor. The wood floors are easy to keep clean too. I would certainly recommend Jacob and Company Remodeling if you are looking to replace your flooring in the Phoenix area!

Local Work Marketing
Local Work Marketing helped my business with internet marketing services over the past year. They are a great website design company located in Scottsdale. I met with their team to tell them about my experience in the past and they knew exactly what to do. Really enjoyed my experience working with Ryan and his team. The SEO they did for my business has made a huge difference.

Tips & Advices
If there is ever a dispute regarding payment over the course of the project, a contractor or subcontractor could place a payment claim, or lien, on your property. To avoid this, ask the contractor to sign a lien release, which is a legal agreement that states that any payment accepted is final. This can come in handy if a contractor has his or her own payment issues with their subcontractors. Signing a lien release form certifies that any payment made by a client to the contractor is enough to pay for any goods or services rendered.
Absolutely ask. Paying too much up front offers the homeowner minimal leverage if the quality of work does not meet expectations or contractual specifications. Try to establish a reasonable pay schedule, such as paying 10 percent of the total cost for each 10 percent of the work that is completed. Include this payment plan in the contract, as well.
Before any money changes hands, there should be a contract to sign. Make sure the specifics of the work and all costs are listed in the contract, including details. If you forget to have something included in the contract after signing it, there's rarely a chance of recourse.
Ask the contractor for proof of their certification before signing anything, as well as their proof of insurance. You should also check your homeowners insurance policy to see if they offer coverage for contracted work. You may want to call your insurance provider and ask for more details on what your plan will and won't cover.
Yes. Plans for how the work site will be cleaned at the end of each day as well as at the conclusion of work need to be put in writing. An experienced general contractor should make every effort to keep the workspace clean and prevent dirtying or damaging any other area. Even so, talk with the contractor about the daily schedule, the logistics of transporting workers and equipment, and how cleanup will be handled.
