Carlos Mata MD
My experience was excellent. Very professional and relaxing experience even though surgery was done. Results were excellent, no infections and surprisingly very little pain. Dr. Mata is extremely efficient in his field and his staff friendly and helpful. What more could you ask for..

Sono Bello
Great experience during my consult, very knowledgeable and informative. Going into it thinking I would not be able to afford it, but options were provided that allowed me the chance to make myself a priority. I haven't had the procedure yet but I am so excited and cannot wait to see the results! My experience so far has been great!

Following my April 28, 2017, surgery at the Scottsdale Sono Bello location, Andrea Montgomery has been my Venous Therapy technician and I find her to be very professional and attentive to my needs and concerns. She is very personable and greets me with a smile while asking about my health and well being. She has explained to me about the machine that is used and the therapeutic concept behind the Venous type of therapy. In the months that I have been her patient, any skin irregularities that she notices are discussed not only with me but she consults with other professionals regarding her concerns. She takes her responsibilities very seriously and has been very instructive on my behalf on how I should be taking care of my skin so that I can achieve maximum beneficial results from the therapy. I have definitely noticed a marked improvement of my skin tone and tightening and feel happy about the way I look. I am very luck to have Andrea Montgomery taking such good care of me and Sono Bello is lucky to have her as such a vital employee to their team. Thanks Andrea!

Carlos Mata MD
Dr Mata is truly a gifted artist when it comes to plastic surgery and the human body. The staff and Dr Mata were more than helpful after the surgery. He repaired what another Dr had done and I got what I did not even think was achievable. I highly recommend him.

Carlos Mata MD
I have had a wonder experience with Dr. Mata and his staff. Dr. Mata is definitely an expert and a perfectionist at this. I had a full tummy tuck, liposuction through out my torso and fat transfer to my butt. Ive gone through some discomfort but, i would do it all over again, I would recommend Dr.Mata without any hesitation.

Very professional, caring staff and physician. Procedure was not painful and so far I have had positive feed back about my results to this point (10 days) from my family. I would recommend this facility to others.

Tips & Advices
Plastic surgeons can be affiliated with hospitals, but it is not a rule. There are hospitals that have comprehensive plastic surgery wings that some surgeons are affiliated with, but affiliation tends to align more with private plastic surgery clinics than with hospitals.
There are variables on an initial consultation, but expect the doctor to review your medical history and discuss the procedure, , its pros and cons of the procedure, surgical and non-surgical options, risks, cost, insurance coverage, and recovery time. Some provide computer imaging of what you will look like pre and post-surgery.
Many doctors provide free consultations for clients, but it is not required.
A plastic surgeon does not have to be board certified. Board certification sets the minimum competency requirements to treat and diagnose patients.
To become a plastic surgeon, one must earn a medical degree, gain a medical license and enroll in a residency and fellowship programs. A plastic surgeon is highly skilled and trained in surgical procedures, but their training has an emphasis on tissue transfer, body contouring and laser surgery, skills associated with plastic surgery.
