Waited over 30 minutes to get a drink. Over an hour to get food, which had to be sent back because it was awful! They argued with us about the quality of food!! I've never had such a bad experience! The waiter DID apologize and say they were extremely busy, but no excuse for poor service and lousy food. We've been here before and it was excellent, but very disappointed this time and will not return.

While attending a show at Proctor's Theater we saw The Backstage Pub (across from parking lot) and thought, lets give it a try.Since that visit, we've been back a number of times. The menu is perfect especially for those who want to eat before the show. If you stop in after a show, you'll get to socialize with the performers, as they come over for a drink and meal. The prices are very resonable. They have a little of everything on the menu from hot/cold sandwiches to fish/steak dinners. The appitizers are very good as well. The pub & grill is a great place and the employees are very friendly.

I came across this place while in the Albany area on business. It might not look like much from the outside, but inside is a classic old time bar area with character to spare. I got a friendly greeting from Barry the baretender and settled in with a fresh Guinness. The real surprise here, however, is the food. \r \r Plenty of surprises on the menu, from the casual pulled pork sandwich and Asian style wings, to the Carpetbagger filet mignon stuffed with fried oysters and served with awesome garlic mash and a chipotle bernaise (!). I ended up eating here every night of my stay. \r \r Open mic on Tuesdays and a great happy hour. If you're looking for a fun place with a mature and professional crowd and great food, seek this place out.

I wanted to like this place. The tables are set nice with cloth, very rustic inside. Kind of a cross of bar (pool table in sight of resturant) and country cafe. We ordered the burger (basic) and the chicken breast sandwich which came with bacon, rasberry glaze and ""melted mozzarelli cheese"" They both came with a pickle and our choice of chips or deli salad. We choses the hand cut fries for $2.00 extra each. That was a waste of $2.00. The fries were limp, no crisp to them at all, they tasted fresh but bland, no salt no crisp. The chicken was dry and I had to ask for mayo to slather on so I could choke it down. It had no flavor appearently the bacon was supposed to be the highlite of the sand but I asked for no bacon on it. There was very little rasberry sauce, hardly could taste it. Again why I needed to ask for mayo. I should have asked for more sauce but was so dissapointed in the food I didnt bother. After I ate most of my sandwhich I remembered it was supposed to have cheese on it. I mentioned to the waitress that I think they forgot the ""melted"" cheese. She argued and said ""no it was on there I saw it when I brought it to you. I neither saw it nor tasted it. And it came to me open face. If it was there is was hiding under the chicken not melted on top as described on the menu. I hate that! For $8.99 plus $2.00 for fries it was a total waste of money. Plus since I did not get the bacon they could have maybe reduced the price? I know they would upcharge me if I added bacon to a sand but then why do they never reduced the price if you forgo it? Also as others have mentioned the ladies room is a joke. You can not hang your purse in the stall or move with out your knees hitting the stall door which has no lock on it. I am very short and my knees were close to hitting the door , no way a tall lady could use the toilets. Seriously! You can tell a lot about an establishment by their bathrooms. This one is cheep and not in the best interest of the customer. Oh, the burger for $5.99 plus $2.00 for fries was of the frozen variety kind. Would never order it again, How hard it is to make a fresh burger?

26.Klamsteam Tavern & Marina
32 Clamsteam Rd
My son and I usually head to the Klamsteam on Friday nights for dinner and during the summer months we're there several times during the weekend. We keep a boat at a nearby marina. The food is almost always good depending upon who's cooking, the service is almost always great. We like the new owners as they do a great job in keeping the customers happy. If we have one complaint, it is that Gabriel is no longer working there. She was the absolute, most attentive barkeep that I've ever had the pleasure to meet and was an institutional part of this restaurant. It's just not the same without her. I am hopeful that the new owners, at some point, will realize the value that Gabriel adds to this wonderful place and rehire her.

We Recently moved to Voorheesville, and coming from the city of albany it is tough to grab dinner on the way home. I checked out the tavern back int he spring and to be honest was a little put off by the condition and look of the property. Last night I went on line read the mixed reviews and prepared for the worst ordered a pizza. I got there a little early so i sat t at the bar, the place was packed, three flat screens over the bar with a mixed selection of what to watch. The bar tender was cute, friendly and mixed a margarita for me that was better than most. i read the menu, did some texting on my phone and the hot pizza landed on the counter. hopped in my car and smelled what seemed to be a good pie for the 8 minute ride home. It was delish! dough was a little thicker than I like but on the menu you can select thinner crust, sausage was yummy little wads of goodness, not that sliced crap most places have gone to, hot cherry peppers, fresh mushrooms and onions. the crust was crispy, the cheese was plentiful and had a great flavor. I think they could update the specialty pizza selection. the john gray looks gross and to be honest I would not want to be on his diet, if you know what I mean. Friendly staff and I'm glad we read the mixed reviews and decided that we were going to give the place a shot. It's perfect for all types and when you see a packed parking lot you know it has to be good. thanks for the great pizza! We will be back highly suggest,
