I rammed my car with kayaks into my carport. Basically it was totaled (the car port). I called up Georgia Coastal Construction and they showed up the same day to draw up plans and give me a quote.From the start, they were very professional. Logistically, they were able to get everything needed for the job, on site, ASAP. Wood, concrete, garbage removal. It all happened very fast. One week and done. I've had other contractors come by before and give me good bids and then do bad work. These guys don't cut corners; they extend the corners and then add some finishing touches. They made my car port look exactly the way I had envisioned it. No joke... I'm super excited about my car port. I think I'm going to hang a hammock out there and bbq under it. They went above and beyond.All I told them was, "Make it look good and make it look Robust". Basically I have a car port that belongs in Aspen. Seriously, 5 stars. Great job. Thank you. And I'll call you next time, when I back my car into my house.-Steve VF

I have worked with Collins for a few years now. I truly believe that they are one of the few totally honest builders out there. Honest with pricing, on schedule, they really are the best in town. I wouldn't go anywhere else.

If there is ever a dispute regarding payment over the course of the project, a contractor or subcontractor could place a payment claim, or lien, on your property. To avoid this, ask the contractor to sign a lien release, which is a legal agreement that states that any payment accepted is final. This can come in handy if a contractor has his or her own payment issues with their subcontractors. Signing a lien release form certifies that any payment made by a client to the contractor is enough to pay for any goods or services rendered.
Absolutely ask. Paying too much up front offers the homeowner minimal leverage if the quality of work does not meet expectations or contractual specifications. Try to establish a reasonable pay schedule, such as paying 10 percent of the total cost for each 10 percent of the work that is completed. Include this payment plan in the contract, as well.
Before any money changes hands, there should be a contract to sign. Make sure the specifics of the work and all costs are listed in the contract, including details. If you forget to have something included in the contract after signing it, there's rarely a chance of recourse.
