We found this because it was near our hotel. Both the food and service were amazing ... constant attention from the waiter without hovering and mouthwatering food. I have paid a whole more for seafood that tasted horrible. This place was a great little surprise and we will definitely be back.

Wow. What an amazing place. My wife and I got dressed up to go out on a Sunday night, but it was a little late and most nice places were closed. One place told us we could be seated and then kicked us out. When we got to the door of Sapphire Grill, we asked if they were about to close and the hostess said yes, but let us come in anyway. I will admit that the prices are high, but there is a cost for wonderfulness. I could certainly tell that the ingredients used were simply the best. Everything was skillfully prepared and absolutely delicious. If you have a little extra $ to spend on a nice night out. I would recommend this place for sure. Bar tender was very nice as well. It was a very relaxed atmosphere and just an overall great experience.

My wife and I went to Bernie's and found the service was good, atmosphere good, and the steamed oysters were great. I don't know why when I looked at the rating it had only 1 1/2 stars.

An unexpected surprise! Saw the name; remember Boston had the same name... Ironically, sister restaurants...good food, great service, a little high on the $$$, but the view, the architecture, the menu.....go! One of the best restaurants on the River Walk.
9.Pirates' House Restaurant

Since 1753, The Pirate's House has been welcoming visitors to Savannah with a bounty of delicious food and drink and rousing good times. Situated a scant block from the Savannah River, The Pirate's House first opened as an inn for seafarers, and fast became a rendezvous for blood-thirsty pirates and sailors from the Seven Seas. Here seamen drank their grog and discoursed, sailor fashion, on their exotic high seas adventures from Singapore to Bombay and from London to Port Said.
10.Mrs. Wilkes Dining Room
107 W Jones St
We couldn't believe the line at Mrs. Wilkes...it was around the block but the tour guide told us to not let it deter us, that ten people are seated at a time and that it would be worth it. We are so glad we listened! Mrs. Wilkes seats 80 patrons at a time at 8 tables of 10. It's family style and you are seated with others you don't know unless you came with a party of 10. When you come in the food and drink is already set on the table and you just begin dining. We waited in line an hour and a half. Once we sat down we were AMAZED at the spread. Delicious friend chicken, beef stew, about 20 fresh vegetables all prepared southern style, mouth watering biscuits, peach cobbler, banana pudding and more. We feasted to our hearts content and then were instructed ""in keeping with the Wilkes family tradition"" that we were to all take our plates, cups and silverware to the kitchen. Scrumptious food and a great price for all you receive. We will definitely go back.

Pleasant but expected decor similar to others on the walk. A bit dark and I was expecting not much in the way of service or food. Was I pleasantly surprised. Our hostess seated us and responded pleasantly to our request to have a table by the windows (dinner entertainment which is worth seeing). Our server ANDI was superb in every aspect. Welcoming, full knowledge of the menu, made positive recommendations and met our every need. She did not rush us and we enjoyed a wonderful dinner The food was excellent. I had steak and fried scallops. Steak cooked to a perfect medium (hot pink center) my wife salmon. All excellent. Deserts were nothing to write mom about. Wonderful experience.

We were in Sanannah last week. Pearl's was recommended by a fellow guest at our hotel. We were not disappointed. The food was wonderful. From the fried green tomatoappetizer and she crab soup to the parmesan crusted grouper with a nice mound of snow crab and mashed potatoes. The cosmopolitan and the coffee were just right. We were too full for dessert. I am still itching from the sandfly bites I acquired while waiting for the restaurant to open. Was I the only one bitten? Am I allergic? I don't know. Got to do something about the sandflies. Joan from Illinois

This place wasn't always so bad. You used to be able to go there and have a nice meal without any problems. And if you had a problem, it was taken care of in a gracious manner. The place has gone completely downhill. The last three times we went there (not including the time we gave up and left because they took over an hour and a half to seat us), it took far too long for us to be seated. It's understandable if there were a lot of people waiting, and it was a busy saturday night, but 2 out of those 3 times, the place was practically dead. Obviously, they just needed more people serving. To make things easy, I'll give you the rundown of the last three visits we've had. The first one, it took us forever to be seated. Our drink and appetizer orders were taken, and the server disappeared. We got our drinks 10 minutes later, our salads 20 minutes after that, and our appetizer arrived, cold, 45 minutes after we'd placed the order. Our food arrived just under an hour after ordering it. I was no longer hungry, so I sent it back and complained to management about the slow service. The meal was comped, and we let it go. The next time, it took just as long for us to be seated. Drinks and salad arrived relatively soon. Food arrived about an hour after we ordered. Once again, I was no longer hungry, but this time I simply took the meal home with me. The final time, and the one that sealed the fact that I will NEVER go to Longhorn again, we were sat relatively quickly. Our food took nearly an hour and a half to arrive. When it did arrive, the sides were completely cold (on both plates), the steak was overcooked, and the chicken was still raw on the inside. I sent my meal back (she took her steak home), and I took a vow to never spend another dime in that restaurant. So, long story short, only go there if you want to wait forever to eat, and then eat cold and under- or over-cooked food.

Red Lobster used to be one of our favorite places to eat but these past six months have left us feeling disappointed. On several occasions the fish was not cooked and had to be returned. We kept going back thinking that they just had an off day. This seems to be the norm with our local RL. This last visit the broccoli was old with brown and yellow spots not green. The Flounder made me sick and I will not be returning back to that RL. I decided to write after my friend told me today of the bad experience they had with RL yesterday, bad broccoli and biscuits that were not completely cooked.

Awful. Deserves 0 stars. Crab Rangoon was burnt through and inedible, dumplings were burnt, and meat inside tasted rotten, 2 entrees ordered were chicken with garlic and chicken with cabbage. Both looked and tasted EXACTLY alike and were bland. The only thing I can say I liked was the lemonade which came from a store bought jug. What a waste of money. How is this place still open?

I'm a local, but I always enjoy going to Love's. It has a great view of the Ogeechee River, is comfortable and low-key, and serves great fresh seafood. My last visit put some wild-caught, fresh Georgia shrimp on the table, which was fried to perfection. Of course, the crispy scored flounder is excellent. Other notable restaurants serve this dish in Savannah, but Love's is just as good and less expensive.

The first noticeable thing was the environment which was gloom and dark. I think the same thing can be said of the service which was non existent at times and rude. The food was fresh but was not seasoned well at all. Don't buy the crab legs, really not worth the money. You can get a pound for about 17 bucks but the crablegs are not very meaty. Between that and the nonexistent seasoning on my wife's low country boil this restaurant is down right terrible. Go at your own risk.

I ate at the Cotton Exchange for dinner while in town on a Febuary Friday. It was busy but we were seated right away. The service was very good. I got the fried shrimp and flounder with a baked potato. It was around $16 which is not bad for a seafood and steak restaurant on river street. The food came out pretty quickly, and everything tasted great.
