Southside Hospital For Animals PC
I completely recommend this veterinarian office. I took my kitten with a spay certificate through save a life and they took excellent care of her. She healed up in no time and everything went smoothly. The grand total for her care was 53 dollars. On a separate occasion I took my 18 year old cat whom had an eye infection and wasn't eating and constantly throwing up. She is frail and has had some health issues on and off, but within minutes of arriving I was in the back and the Dr. had told me that she had a heart condition. She prescribed medication for both her eye and her unknown heart condition and it is solely because of the care she received that day that she is still with me. I can't thank them enough for patching my babies up and actually caring about their health. You really can't find a better vet in the savannah area. Trust me, I have tried them all before here: save your time! Go here! Not to mention, they are quite reasonably priced! I was expecting an outrageous amount to pay at the end of the heart/eye visit but it was less than 100 dollars. I call them for everything related to my pets health.

Ducey Veterinary Clinic
The first visit there was a while back. I know Dr. Ducey pretty well and he treats all animals with live and respect. I dropped my dogs off at the kennels and I saw the I guess u would call them kennel boys working. I looked into their work and they werecleaning the cages indor and outdoor perfectly. On top of that my dogs needed flee medicin while they were there and he put it on then and gave them their Meds every day. The office is well kept and he does a great job working on animals- anywhere from shots to neutering. His prices are low and his practices are amazing. And in the kennels he has a separate cat room for the cats so they are not bothered by the dogs. You can call ahead for an appointment and he will make one ASAP. If I could I would rate this 1000000000 stars so HIGHLY recommend it for anyone that needs there pet to be taken care of at the kennels or given a shot or any type of surgery. don't miss out on the amazing opportunity to get amazing treatments for your pets

Georgetown Veterinary Hospital
I wouldn't take ANY of my pets to any other vet in town--and I have been to others. I am so thankful to my good friend Karen who told me about the wonderful, caring Veterinarians (especially Dr. Hassan!!!), and the the excellent staff. As you can see by my pictures, I have english bullies. I also have a pekingese and three cats. This place is a home away from home for my pets and they support animal rescue organizations that work locally, as well as take in many strays that get left on their doorstep. I could go on & on. Give them a try & you won't be disappointed!!!

VCA Greater Savannah Animal Hospital
I'm so grateful for VCA. The doctors and staff are absolutely wonderful. My dogs are currently 13 and 14 and have been seen at VCA all of their lives. The care provided is superior. The staff genuinely cares about the well-being of all of the animals they treat. I can attribute the excellent health of my "babies" to the services and guidance provided by VCA. I'm so grateful for them!

VCA Greater Savannah Animal Hospital
Both my Dogs have always gone to the VCA of greater Savannah. They are 9&10 now and I trust the vets and staff there with their health and lives. They saved my 10 yr old when she was first rescued with heart worms, they got us through that and they have me as a supporter forever. Thank you VCA!

Tips & Advices
Most 24-hour clinics do not allow owners to stay with their pets overnight. However, many do have specific visiting hours or will let owners see their pets at any point during the day. In addition, owners can call most clinics at any time for an update on their pet's well being.
  • Important phone numbers, especially those of the the veterinary clinic, the animal hospital or emergency clinic, and the poison control center
  • A book detailing pet first-aid steps
  • Copy of medical records
  • Nylon leash
  • Muzzle (only use if pet is not vomiting and has no difficulty breathing)
  • Absorbent gauze
  • Nonlatex disposable gloves
  • Scissors
  • Tweezers
  • Nail clippers
  • Digital thermometer
  • Sterile saline solution
  • Hydrogen peroxide (to induce vomiting only at the recommendation of a veterinarian
  • Milk of magnesia (to absorb poison only at the recommendation of a veterinarian)
Find a 24-hour animal hospital that provides emergency services within your area. Keep the facility's contact information in a place that's easy to locate, such as the refrigerator, address book, or smartphone. Most veterinary clinics operate on standard business hours and are not equipped to handle emergencies.
Veterinary clinics operate on a smaller scale than animal hospitals. The latter are more likely open 24 hours and provide emergency services. The former generally operate on typical office hours and only perform wellness exams and minor surgeries. Veterinary clinics also do not generally perform laboratory tests on site.
The specifics vary depending on the type of visit. For a wellness exam, bring:
  • Medical records
  • The type or brand of food the pet eats
  • Medication (including flea, tick, and heartworm medication).
If the animal needs medical treatment, the following may be helpful depending on the situation:
  • Fresh stool sample
  • Vomit sample
  • Video of the pet engaging in abnormal behavior
  • Substance the pet may have ingested
