Michael Richard Dorociak, DDS
My father is a retired dentist. I know a great dental practice when I see it. Dr. Dorociak was actually referred to me by another retired dentist who is Dr. Dorociak's patient. I have complete confidence in Dr. Dorociak and his staff. I will be happy to talk with anyone about our complete satisfaction. We're fortunate to have such a fine dental professional in our town.My hygienist, Colette, is excellent. She gets me in and out efficiently and is a pleasure to deal with during my cleanings. She is sharp and recognizes issues which makes me feel confident in my treatment. Colette is a real pro!I cannot imagine a more "perfect" practice. While I cannot think of a single thing to suggest, I'm sure Dr. Dorociak will continue to try to improve an already EXCELLENT dental practice. BRAVO!!!

I was referred to Dr. Ortiz and his team for a root canal by my primary dentist. It was my 1st root canal, so I was apprehensive but I was comfortable the entire time. Dr. Ortiz is warm, friendly, concerned for patient well-being and skilled. He also has all types of hi-tech gadgets so he can see problematic areas that the naked eye cannot detect. Another plus is that he sings a little bit during the procedure (pretty voice too!), which totally put me at ease because it was a sign that he was comfortable, so it made me all the more relaxed. I can't say enough about my experience with Dr. Ortiz and his staff- for a root canal, I had a lovely time :) Sarasota is lucky that he established his practice here. Dr. Ortiz gets an A++ from me.

My name is Jim Quinn and although I normally use the Venice facility, I would like to comment on the care and service that I received at your S. Tuttle, Sarasota location.I would like to begin by apologizing because I do not remember the name of the Dr. who did the extractions for me on Thurs May 11. I also did not get the name of the young lady (Technician) who assited. I remember that she was from HungaryIn any event---they were great! No pain---completely professional-- and really thorough in post procedure explanation. Please extend my compliments to both and although I am in Venice , I will never hesitate to go to Sarasota when necessaryLast Item please apologize for me for forgetting their namesJames (jim) Quinn

Todd J Reuter DDS
Dr. Reuter is fantastic!! I love going into his office and seeing his friendly staff. But what I love most of all is being his patient. He gets to know all of his patients on a really personal level and lets you know that as a patient, he really cares about your well being. I always feel like I have great doctor/patient communication with him and like he's always willing to listen to my concerns. He makes everything comfortable and an enjoyable experience! I would recommend him to any one for any kind of procedure. I really like how he always calls his patients after surgery, it adds a great personal touch and shows that he truly cares.

Go 2 Dental
I HAVE HAD 3 CROWNS AND 1 BRIDGE PLUS 2 FILLINGS. MY APPT. WAS AT 7 A.M. AND NO DELAY. I HAVE BEEN HERE ONCE BEFORE AND FOUND I DID WAIT A LONG TIME, BUT I WAS TOLD AHEAD OF TIME THAT THIS WAS TO BE EXPECTED. I AM VERY PLEASED WITH THE WORK AND THE STAFF. YOU ARE PAYING LESS THAN YOU WOULD AT A PRIVATE DENTIST, AND YOU MAY WAIT FOR LONGER PERIODS OF TIME THAN YOU DO AT YOUR PRIVATE DENTIST. I HAVE HAD A LOT OF DENTAL WORK OVER THE YEARS AND I WAS VERY SUSPICIOUS OF THIS CLINIC. I LET THEM DO ONE CROWN AS A "TEST" AND NOW I HAVE JUST LEFT THE CLINIC WITH 5 HOURS OF WORK DONE. I WILL GO BACK.

Although the very term "root canal" sends chills down my spine, Dr. Ortiz performed this dreaded procedure with a minimum of discomfort and an excellent result. Not only is Dr. Ortiz a highly trained specialist, he kept me informed as he proceeded step by step laced with good humor. His blend of professionalism and personal skills are shared by his capable staff, whose teamwork from the receptionist to dental assistants are dedicated to the comfort and needs of the patient.

Dr. Thomas A. Bowles
Dr. Bowles and his staff are friendly and knowledgeable. I am always very pleased with the care that I receive when I come in. My dental hygienist, Dale Ann, is knowledgeable, gentle, and extremely thorough. I love the way my teeth feel after each visit. I couldn’t ask for a better team of professionals.
Tips & Advices
  • Pick Your Plan: Most people purchase three main varieties, usually through their employers.
    • An indemnity or fee-for-service plan means you'll have to pay for annual deductibles and co-insurance payments out of pocket.
    • A preferred provider organization is less costly, and you choose from a network of dentists. However, PPOs have some limitations and accompanying deductibles.
    • A dental health maintenance organization plan limits you to just a few choices of dentists, and one doctor handles all of your oral care needs. However, these HMO are usually much less costly.
  • PPO plans and dental HMOs work with only a select number of doctors. While that usually means fewer costs, it also means you have less choice in the dentist who can treat you Before purchasing the plan, you'll receive a list of dentists in each network. From there, you can then pick a plan with doctors who meet your standards and requirements.
  • When picking a plan, you need to look at just how much you'll pay for each and every service. For instance, some plans won't cover your fillings or X-rays, while others may charge more or less for a crown or tooth extraction. You don't want to be caught off-guard by unforeseen charges.
  • If you're truly comfortable with a dentist and you feel he or she can be an ally in your ongoing oral care regimen, then consider signing a plan to just keep that dentist available. That means potentially deal with costs and other insurance-related factors that you might have wanted to. If need be, you might be able to work with the dentist's office to address some of the plan-specific concerns.
  • Ask family, friends or colleagues for recommendations. They will be able to provide details about a dentist's demeanor, operating style and approach to patient care
  • Meet with any prospective dentists to ask about what treatments they perform most often, procedures they're not as familiar with, what accreditation they have or any organizations they belong to and how their offices handles insurance and payments.
  • Consider driving distance, location and office hours.
  • Check With Your State Board: The state board can outline what requirements your dentist must meet and offer information about any discrepancies in the their background and if he or she has faced any disciplinary actions.
  • Remember Your Angles - When brushing your teeth, always place the brush at a 45-degree angle..
  • Don't Forget the Tongue – Your tongue is the largest source of bacteria. Brush it front to back and don't forget the sides.
  • Floss Everyday - Each time you floss, have at least 18 inches of floss available. For optimal control, hold the floss between your thumbs and forefingers.
  • Watch What You Eat - Sugar, alcohol and coffee contain phosphorus. While some can prove beneficial, too much of this chemical can eat away at your teeth and gums.
  • Keep in Mind the Mouthwash - Mouthwash can be helpful if used to supplement proper brushing and flossing. Most mouthwash brands contain chlorine dioxide, a chemical that targets the majority of oral bacterial strains.
Yellow teeth are the result of a number of bad habits, mainly smoking, drinking too much coffee and improper nutrition. Many dentists will treat with a whitening procedure.
These painful bumps are the result of irritation to the soft tissue of your mouth. These sores can make brushing almost impossible. There are a number of different causes for sores, including anemia or a vitamin B-12 deficiency. Your doctor will have to examine the bump, find its cause and then develop a specific treatment plan, including the use of corticosteroids to reduce inflammation or antimicrobial mouthwash.
