Chez Jeanne Dog and Cat Grooming
We have a toy poodle that we have had groomed at Chez Jeanne Pet Grooming since he was a puppy. This has been 5 years now. We take him every month. His name is Coco. We have an appointment scheduled after every visit, for our next visit. We have some points to express regarding Chez Jeanne Grooming, for people reading these Yelp reviews:1. The people that work there are always kind. Our dog licks them and is happy to go get groomed.2. Coco comes home relaxed and happy.3. He looks great and smells great.4. When we want to try a "new do" for him the staff happily obliges.5. The owner gives personal attention to us, and her expertise is evident.6. When we have something done on our house like our kitchen remodeled last summer, we can take Coco there and he stays for the day so he is not upset by strangers in our house. He can be cared for all day instead of being kept in a bedroom.7. One time, our gardner left our yard gate open. Someone happened to find our poodle, and showed a photo to the staff at Chez Jeanne, and they called us to tell us where our dog was. Now THAT is caring service!8. When we started Coco as a puppy, they gave us free visits so he could play and get to know them and get used to grooming. He is happy to go now.9. Our friends have a labrador that only gets a bath every other month, but Chez Jeanne Grooming lets them come in for free nail trim in between. They do free nail trim and day care for their regular clients. The dogs are happy to go there. We have always had good experience with Chez Jeanne Pet Grooming. They are always friendly and take good, really good care of dogs and cats.Just our two cents for those looking for quality groomers.Sincerely,Angel MosqueraSanta Rosa

Chez Jeanne Dog and Cat Grooming
We have a lovely 10 year old Golden Retriever, who needed a haircut. The vet recommended this groomer. She had a bath and a "teddybear" haircut and she looks like a puppy again and smells so good!!They were very careful with our dog, Glory, as she has a sore back, and made her feel not itchy any more. We all really appreciate how well they treated her and us.We are thankful to our vet and to Chez Jeanne for all of their help.Glory is enjoying her haircut, she acts like a puppy now too. I wish we would have gotten the haircut sooner!! We will take her there for baths now and keep her teddy bear puppy look. Thanks again Chez Jeanne!

VCA Pet Care Veterinary Hospital
Dr Robello is an extremely competent surgeon. My Savannah cat had a commotid fracture with a shattered fibula and multiple bone deep lacerations. During surgery, he reinforced the fracture with two metal plates and nine pins and our boy is on the way to recovery. After showing some other vets the X-Rays, they had never seen such an advanced procedure. Their follow up has been great and I feel that our Savannah Cat will make a full recovery after deciding to get into a fight with a car. These are some of the most competent clinicians in all of Sonoma County. Thank you again.

Tips & Advices
Some pet groomers have viewing areas where owners can sit and watch their pets being treated. Most prevent owners from being in the same room as the pet, however, as the owner's presence might cause the pet to become too excited.
Pets that cannot interact with strangers do not make good professional grooming candidates. Sometimes medication can help, but some groomers don't take animals that have been sedated. If a pet becomes too unruly, a groomer may end the session entirely.
It's best to fully vaccinate pets before bringing them to their first grooming appointment. Dogs should receive the DA2PPC vaccine, which stands for canine distemper, canine andenovirus type 2, canine parvovirus, and parainfluenza. It's also a good idea to vaccinate dogs against Bordedatella (aka “kennel cough”). In fact, New York City requires dogs receive both DAPP and Bordetella shots. Cats, meanwhile, should get the FVRCP vaccine: feline viral rhinotracheitis, calicivirus infection, and panleukopenia. In addition, all pets should be up to date on their rabies shots. Owners should wait at least 24 hours after getting their pet vaccinated before bringing it to the groomers.
Technically, there is no such thing as a pet that is too old for a professional groomer. In fact, older pets with joint or mobility issues often can't groom themselves and need someone else to clean them. However, pets that are blind, deaf, or have serious medical issues might not do well at a groomer, especially if the person is inexperienced. Owners should feel free to ask potential groomers about their understanding of elderly pet issues. Often, older pets will exhibit puppy-like behavior and squirm or yelp during grooming. Alternatively, they might not be able to stand for long periods of time. As such, grooming an older pet usually takes more time than grooming a young one.
Puppies and kittens should be at least 10 weeks old before their first professional grooming session. They should be used to being gently handled by strangers and comfortable being separated from their owners for a few hours at a time.
