This is one of my favorite gastropubs in LA to hang on a Saturday afternoon with friends. You can't beat a seven day a week happy hour, not to mention The Misfit's drink specials are some of the best in town. I love ordering cocktails in bars and pubs that are way too complicated to make at home. It's not like I keep a stash of bourbon soaked cherries on hand for your every-day cocktail. Seriously - the drink menu at the Misfit is top-notch. Some of my personal faves are the Basil Gimlet, the French Sailor and the Paper Plane. The food is pretty great too - lobster sliders, prime rib sliders, bacon wrapped dates and the mountain of shoestring fries: A+! The menu changes periodically, but they always seem to have these on-hand. I have never been disappointed with the food. The service is always fantastic and I love to sit at the bar. The bartenders put on quite a show as they work and I love studying them as they whip up the cocktails.

05/14/2014Bay Cities Italian Deli & Bakery
Bay Cities is everything one could want from a deli: delicious submarine sandwiches that are squishy with dressing, made with fresh Italian loaves and quality meats and cheeses. For years, the Provolone with Everything was my most coveted vegetarian meal.Hot dishes are available to take on home, as are lovely delicaces like Italian and Greek olives, pates, pastas and a fine selection of wines and cookware. Shopping here is really an entertainment. Now, the tables and benches outside are not pretty and you might be sharing your space with a winged stalker. And traffic on Lincoln is not particularly picturesque. You must realize that the food is THAT GOOD.....even these downers won't discourage you from returning again and again (its been twenty five years for me).
A fantastic little ice cream shop in Brentwood. Part of the Brentwood Country Mart.Their standard ice cream is top-notch. Salted caramel is their most famous, but they have other more unusual flavors showing up and disappearing every now and then: blackberry, stout, etc. You can sample two flavors before you order. Get your favorite in a cup or on a waffle cone for an extra dollar. If you're feeling decadent, you can get a sundae, which comes with two scoops of your choice of flavor, a sauce, a topping, and a dollop of their fantastic homemade whipped cream. The pecan brittle is heavenly.
My co-worker loves this place and since we're in the area, we decided to stop by. Since it was during happy hour (till 7 p.m.) everything was so cheep! We ordered two soft drinks, 6 oysters, mussels, lobster bisque, beef, calamari and the total price was $45 including tip for two! I especially loved oysters and lobster bisque!
