Dr. Alison Williams, DDS
Alison and her team are simply awesome.I was introduced to her practice 4+ years ago. I was a day away from a family vacation and had the misfortune of chipping my front tooth completely in half while mountain biking the day before.I was completely blown away at the treatment I received. After explaining my situation, she immediately made room in her schedule for me. Then the whole team stayed late (not 30 minutes, not 1 hour, but several hours) to resolve the trauma (aka root canal and xrays for any additional damage) as well as fashioning me a provisional crown. Doc Williams took time to build up the temporary crown so that the color and shape were a near perfect match....and it lasted much longer than intended (I'm a procrastinator and didn't get the permanent crown immediately).Once I got my act together and got back into the office to create the permanent crown, the dedication and perfectionism continued. She held the crown against my other teeth in multiple lighting environments: indoor fluorescent, incandescent, outdoor shaded, outdoor sun. And she wasn't completely satisfied. We hopped in her car and traveled to manufacturer's offices. An equally dedicated crew, the doctor worked with the staff adding color, baking and then checking the color under a magnifier. Mind you, I was already happy with the color, they weren't. When they were happy, we traveled back to her office and we completed the process.I DID NOT PAY ANY ADDITIONAL MONEY FOR THE EFFORT THE DOCTOR AND HER TEAM EXHIBITED.Needless to say, I've been with her ever since. It was convenient when I worked in the nearby area but I have since moved on professionally. Not-to-fail, I've always been greeted with such warmth on every visit and given such top notch service that I happily travel the 23 miles from my home to continue getting my dental needs taken care of by Dr. Williams. Appointments are always on time without overbookings. Great care is taken to insure you're as comfortable and stress free as possible (with sharp metal objects in your mouth). And hugs are free.OF ALL THE BUSINESSES I'VE INTERACTED WITH IN MY LIFE, I HAVE NEVER RECEIVED THE LEVEL OF SERVICE I'VE GOTTEN FROM ALISON. I DON'T TAKE 5-STAR RATINGS LIGHTLY. IF MY EXPERIENCE DESCRIBED HERE WERE YOURS, COULD YOU THINK OF ANY LESS THAN 5 STARS?

After relocating I needed a new dentist. My previous dentist was awesome and I'd finally got to the stage where going to the dentist wasn't TOTAL fear! Dr. Morshed was very professional and also very friendly. He set me at ease immediately. They know that people fear the dentist and their office is nicely decorated to help you relax. His assistants were also wonderful and made sure I was comfortable with taking x-rays. They were very thorough but only did what they felt was necessary. I ended up needing to fix 3 things which I kind of knew in advance. Dr. Morshed was wonderful throughout the procedures and asked if I was doing okay. Explained everything well and did a great job. SOOOO glad I found this dentist.

I met Dr. Miyakawa in 2006 for a pre-op appt. I immediately wanted her to be my primary doctor. She is now. Love her, she takes her time, listens to you, remembers what you say. She is worth the wait. The office is a busy one and calling the office is a challenge. You are put on hold but it is not a long wait. I've had blood work done there and no issues. When going to the office yes I wait a bit but it's not even long enough to read a magazine article. Speaking of which they could use a little help in that area. If you street park be careful some meters are only for 20 minutes, look before you insert coins.

I LOVED this dentist! I went to a cheap dentist for an exam and they tried to tell me that I needed a deep cleaning and I had a cavity. I didn't trust them to do any work on my teeth, so I went to Dr. Morshed to have him do it. He took a look at my teeth and told me I didn't have anything that needed restorative work, I was so happy! What's nice about it is that all the employees are happy and there's a really great vibe about the place. I know I've found my new dentist!

I've been a patient of Dr. Morshed's for a few years now and I've been extremely satisfied with his calm and knowledgeable demeanor. He's always extremely friendly and more than willing to answer any questions I have. Besides regular cleanings, I've gotten fillings, x-rays and even a couple of lectures about my needing to floss more often. Hey, I actually like the parental lecturing! I can tell they really care about me.

This office is the best I ve been to and I ve been to many. Dr. Morshed is super nice and gentle and did not try to take me to the cleaners when it came to fixing my broken teeth. The receptionist went over my insurance benefits with me and helped me get the maximum benefits from my insurance plan. The hygienist was thorough and very gentle. Overall, definitely a thumbs up!

I just went to Dr. Morshed for the first time and he was GREAT! I wasn't happy with my old dentist, so I tried him out. Reviews were spot on - he is friendly, and does great quality work. I needed a cleaning and a tiny filling, and he quickly and easily did them in the same visit. My teeth are sparkling and happy. Definitely recommended!

Awesome dentist. Great guy - smart, nice, calm and soothingly soft spoken. Explains everything he is about to do before he does it and makes you feel really comfortable. The staff is very nice too - friendly, competent and caring. This is the third dentist I've been to in LA and I won't be going to anyone else.
Tips & Advices
  • If a tooth decays and the nerves or pulp (soft internal tissue which helps teeth develop) become inflamed or infected
  • If a tooth is cracked or broken and nerves are exposed
This generally depends on any specific issues you wish to address with your teeth. There are toothpastes designed to whiten teeth, fight cavities, decrease sensitivity, prevent bad breath, resist gingivitis, and those specific to children (with lower fluoride content). There are also toothpastes that offer “complete” protection by combining aspects of many of the above toothpastes.
It’s recommended to get a professional cleaning at least two times per year.
  • Desensitizing toothpaste numbs the nerves in the teeth that can cause discomfort.
  • Mouth guard can protect against grinding teeth during sleep.
  • Fluoride treatment can be applied by dentists to sensitive areas to numb teeth and strengthen enamel.
  • Root canal can treat problems in a tooth’s core.
  • Surgical gum graft where a piece of gum tissue is removed from a section of the mouth to cover an exposed root.
Not everyone needs to have their wisdom teeth removed, but there are certain signs that can help you and your doctor determine if yours should be:
  • Wisdom teeth are pushing other teeth around, causing pain and misalignment
  • Cysts form around newly emerged wisdom teeth, causing jaw damage
  • Gums get inflamed and swollen, causing cavities and pain
  • Doctor determine from x-rays that wisdom teeth will cause problems in the near future
