I have lived in Santa Fe for over four years. I have eaten at most of the really good restaurants here and Rio Chama is my absolute favorite. When I've dinned there, I have always had exceptional meals. I love the variety of the menu. On most nights there is a selection of great steaks, chicken, pasta, and fish. Their pork chop is the best I've ever had. The ambience is causal, but elegant. The service is top notch. The price is not cheap, but it's far less than other restaurants of similar caliber like Santa Cafe, Aqua Santa and Coyote Cafe. We go to Rio Chama on special occasions and I always look forward to it. Enjoy, Matthew Mitchell

The previous reviews convinced us to try il piatto. It is worth 4+ stars!! The grilled calamari was a surprise, yet delicious. But doesn't compare to the pappardelle with duck ragu which was fantastic!! Our waiter was a consummate professional. We will come back.

The Compound is my favorite restaurant in Santa Fe. I have been following Chef Kiffin's career for nearly two decades and his approach to the dining experience is to provide consistency without losing innovation. His sesonal menus are fresh and creative with a focus on quality. There is no fluff here. This restaurant is everything you'd expect for a fine dining establishment.

Great service, some of best margaritas and, hands down, the best enchiladas in town! All served in an old santa fe turn of the century home, decorated throughout its scattered rooms with oil paintings and folk art. It was opened in 1953, I think, and is still owned by the same family and you can tell - the energy is welcoming and friendly.

The legendary Palace Restaurant and Saloon is destination for visitors to Santa Fe and a local hotspot. The welcoming decor, where traditional Victorian style merges with the Spanish Colonial aesthetic of New Mexico in the wild west of the 1850s provides a distinct atmosphere for elegant dining and relaxed bar fare. The saloon, with its red, flocked velvet wallpaper recalls the era of La Doña Tules and the gambling halls and saloons of yesteryear. The dining room combines classic elegance–chandeliers, historic photographs, tasteful art to create a comfortable, lively space for an unforgettable meal.

This is a classy, elegant restaurant that still manages to make you feel relaxed and at home. The foie gras was generous and one of the best presentations I've seen. A delightful meal from start to finish. Knowledgeable staff. Decent wine list with some surprises.

I usually start with the positive, but here I am going to start with the negative. The only thing really negative was the portion size. The portions were enormous. Unless you are a hot-dog eating contest winner, I would only order two courses. The entrance, the decor, the vibe, the life of the restaurant was exhilarating ! The owners have clearly paid attention to each detail from linen selection, chair selection, art, flooring and lighting. All of this does not go unnoticed as every part of it adds to the experience. We started with the roast corn soup which was a special. It stayed true to the flavor of corn without adulterating it with too much seasoning. I then had the green miso sea bass. This was served over their home made ramen noodles. I would go back just to have their ramen noodles. They offer this as a side. If your meal does not come with them, I would order them to split amongst the table. None of us could finish our entrees if we had any chance of eating desert so we stopped and left half of our entrees in order that we could eat a few bites of desert. The deserts did not match the quality of the entrees, but they were still good. Our table ordered the chocolate ganache cake which was good, not too sweet and served with strawberry based condiments. We also ordered the ""creamsicle"" cake. This was really good but we could not finish it because we were too full. This restaurant is a must if you are going to be in Santa Fe. The bill was only $220 for three of us. We don't drink though so you would have to add in alcohol if consumed. Our server wasn't the best but the food and experience made up for it.

It's tough getting seated, since there is always a wait unless you want to sit at the counter. My sister and I sat at the counter and it took a few minutes before we were waited on. The service was friendly once they got to you. it was very crowded and tight quarters. We had an excellent lunch of some traditional Mexican fare (chicken mole stew) with large portions. I would recommend getting in line for a seat before you're hungry!

We had a great meal at La Cantina. Our waiter was attentive, but we did not feel at all rushed. Everything we ordered was delicious and very affordable for the area. The open-air atmosphere on the rooftop was lovely, the reggae music made everything festive, and the crowd was fairly young and hip. I would definitely go back again.

Harry and Peyton have kept this place's spirit, rustic but clean and comfortable look, great classic and new dishes and desserts, fast and good bartenders, warm fires, beflowered patio, and hence the crowds, intact for a long time now (I've been coming since 1993). Tourists and locals are equally welcome, and although I haven't worked there, some of the staff have been there for many years, which suggests that maybe Harry's not so bad!!

My, this sure is a tasy place to eat! We have a pleasurable experience every time we dine in. The blond waitress with the glasses is delightful, and has a certain swish which livens up her section. Most delicious pastas, and across from the sprightly Cowgirl. Semper ubi sub ubi!

My wife and I stopped here mid afternoon just to grab a beer and relax for a few minutes after spending an afternoon in the museums. The patio was perfect, the waiter was friendly and prompt, and the beer temp was just perfect. It made a perfect afternoon break for us.
