Absolute Auto Glass Inc.
Was a customer, will not ever be again. To be fair, I understand the situation, however punishing a client for their technologically ineptness (Absolute Auto Glass) and making the customer do the work to prove they have been a customer leaves room for improvement. The dude doing the work is an ace, super cool guy that does great work. Furthermore, the person inside, Samir, is nice, however I would never send anyone there nor will I ever go back as I was treated poorly. I made an appointment that wasted well over an hour of my time and then I solved the problem I was mocked out the door. Bridge is burned and I hate having to write a poor review for a local business.

Great Place!Gino's is my favorite auto parts resource hands down they always do a great job finding the right part, at the right price, I've been a Gino's customer over 30 years and when I need something for a car I'm trying to restore or repair that requires auto parts Gino's is my only destination, they are good honest people.

Gino's Santa Cruz Auto Wrecking Recycling Dismantling
I have lived in Santa Cruz since 1974, for nearly 40 years, but this is the first review I have written for a local business. In those years I have only owned second hand cars, including a Ford Falcon station wagon, a Ford Fiesta, a Ford Granada, a 1965 VW Bug, a Diesel-powered VW Jetta, a gasoline-powered VW Jetta, a VW Dasher, and a 1991 Toyota Tercel. It originally took me a year or two to find Gino’s Santa Cruz Carco, a recycler of cars and trucks. Since then, for well over 30 years, Gino’s (at two successive locations) has been the parts house for all of my cars. Things I have bought from Gino’s include a Toyota engine, body panels, plastic brake light fixtures, wheel rims, tires, hubcaps, rear view mirrors, gas tank caps, windshields, a steering mechanism, carpet replacements, etc. The staff was always helpful, the parts were always of good quality, if they were not in stock they were found rapidly, and the prices were always reasonable and cheaper than elsewhere. I highly recommend Gino’s!Francis de Winter

Santa Cruz Auto Parts
Visited Santa Cruz Auto Parts twice in the last couple of weeks and had complete success each time. I needed axle bearings and front wheel bearings for my '65 Mustang. They had the bearings, races and seals for this 50 year old car, on the shelf and the prices were at least as good as Summit online (which sent me the wrong parts anyway). In addition to having the parts in stock, they have a complete machine shop in back where my axle bearings were removed and installed, with the correct equipment, while I waited. This is the parts store that professional shops use, thus their hours are not ideal (8-5), but I recommend them for sure.

Gino's Santa Cruz Auto Wrecking Recycling Dismantling
Horrible place This place deserves 0 stars. Gino is rude and dishonest. He will quote you a price and say he never did it. Gino's should not be in business, he is an unscrupulous man and his father would be embarrassed with the way he is running the family business.

Tips & Advices
Depending on the part and its overall quality, a good amount of money can be saved by purchasing aftermarket parts versus OEM parts. But aftermarket parts that are low in price might also be lower in quality and could do more harm than good to your car, or they may need to be replaced more frequently than a more expensive counterpart. This could lead to saving some money in the short term, but spending more than anticipated in the long term.
The type of tires being purchased is the most significant determinant of their price. SUV tires are more costly than average car tires. And high-performance tires are more costly than economy grade tires. On average, standard tires for an average-sized vehicle are around $100 per tire. Standard tires for an SUV are around $150 and pick-up truck tires are about $200 on average. Some dealers offer discounts if purchasing more than one tire.
Car inspections typically take about an hour. However the wait time can be longer depending on how busy the shop is. Call ahead for an appointment to avoid long wait times.
Depending on the manufacturer, certain aftermarket parts can be just as reliable as Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) parts. But one item within a vehicle, like oil filters for instance, could have multiple manufacturers and there could be inconsistencies in quality among them.
Costs of replacing a windshield can vary greatly depending on a variety of factors:
  • Vehicle make and model
  • How much of the cost insurance will cover
  • Whether the windshield installers come to your location or you bring the vehicle to them
  • Standard service costs of the windshield installers
Generally, newer and higher-end vehicles cost more to have their windshields replaced because certain manufacturers use modified or proprietary glass types.
