Courtyard by Marriott San Luis Obispo
Great hotel just a short distance to Cal Poly and downtown SLO. Our room was very clean and staff was very friendly. Definitely will return.

Inn at San Luis Obispo
If I had to, I'd stay there again. Mostly things were clean, but the comfortable had visible stains that really grossed me out. They do have a great nook for the fridge and microwave, which is killer. Water pressure was good and the service was friendly. It's no 5 star place, but it does the trick.

Inn at San Luis Obispo
Nothing standout here but it's clean, close to downtown and reasonably priced. Simple place when traveling with kids.

Feeling the need for a home cooked meal? This is the place to go. Everything on the menu is good. Service is great.

Sands Inn & Suites
This is where we always booked rooms when our son was at Cal Poly. The rooms were clean and comfortable and the free breakfast was always very tasty with lots of selections--waffles, bagels, sweet rolls, hot cereal, cold cereal, orange and apple juices, coffee, tea, bagels, and English muffins. Their prices were not too expensive, but did double for graduation weekend, which disappointed us.

La Cuesta Inn
ROOM THEFT...I recently stayed at the La Cuesta Inn, 2074 Monterey St, San Luis Obispo, CA 93401. My husband and I were in room 206 from 10/4-10/6. I left my amazon kindle in the room. When I called to check on it yesterday I was told it was not turned in by the cleaning crew. That kindle never left the bedside of the room. I did report this theft to the SLO police dept and hope an officer will go and talk to the maid that was on duty and her sense of decency would return and it may be "found" all of a sudden. I am getting ready to deactivate this kindle as well so it will become unusable.

Ramada San Luis Obispo
My daughter and I checked into this hotel after a 21-hour trip from the South Dakota to SLO moving my daughter there for college. Almost 12 of those hours was through the desert with no air conditioning in her car. Needless to say, we were very much looking forward to getting our hotel room.I had made a reservation two weeks earlier. The guy on the phone spoke very choppy English. I made a reservation for a double and he told me it would be $90 something. I gave him my credit card number and I thought all was taken care of. But when we arrived they said they didn't have a reservation and we were so exhausted. Once again, we were met with very choppy English. They offered to put us in a suite and I agreed but what I didn't know I agreed to was a $150 room. I thought they were giving us a deal for making the mistake. This was their mistake and I had to pay for it? Not right. I've since written them stating my grievance and I have heard nothing back from them at all. It's been over 6 weeks! I'd call but I can't understand them--that's why I chose to write. I just believe it was very unfair of them to do that to us. Most places that made mistakes try to make it right. But not them! They charge you extra for their mistake!I would never recommend this hotel to anyone just based on the employees alone.

Many, many things about this hotel was great and I was not able to take advantage of all the amenities. Room was clean, neat and comfortable. Complimentary breakfast was better than other hotels. What was not so good was minor. First our reservation was not correct but the desk staff made the appropriate corrections, right away. I also thought the pool access was different. The closest door to the pool would let you go from the hotel to the pool but not back into the hotel from the pool, even with a room card key. You had to go to either side of the hotel add use your card key on the side door or all the way to the front entrance.

Just a moment...
