I dined here a while back ago, took my nephew for his graduation. I have to tell you that I have eaten at several steakhouses in New York City (where I reside) and this outdid ALL of them!!! Definitely one of the juiciest steaks I've had and my nephew REALLY appreciated the Alaskan king crab legs. Next time I'm in SJ, I'll be taking my nephew again!
2.House Of Genji
1335 N 1st St
I have been going to House of Genji for over 10 years now and absolutly love the food there. If you're looking for a great Fillet Mignon with a twist - Genji is your place. The meal starts out with a salad then a great bowl of missho soup followed by rice, vegtables and shrimp with the the main course coming last. With the main course you get two dipping sauces - ginger sauce and mustard sauce. They're mustard sauce is absolutly delicous and is one of the things that differenctiates Genji from the chains. I'm not sure where they get their meat from but the quality is excellent, rivaling some of the larger top steakhouse chains. I have heard others complain about some of the seafood dishes but as this is a steakhouse and you really have to order their specialty. \r \r One thing that Genji could use is a major makeover - the place has not changed in over a decade and the carpet and walls are worn beyond what they should be. One other thing that I have a issue with is that they started adversiting on TV about their free birthday dinner which brought in a lot of less desirable people. What I mean by this is that large groups of people will get together for a birthday dinner and get drunk and rowdy making the place seem a little less sofisticated.\r \r Hands down this is the best Tepan Yaki place in the area, Bennihanna is just a chain and doesnt even come close.

2910 Aborn Square Rd
Bad, bad, bad!!!! I was served a cold baked potato, it had butter on it, (served from the kitchen) but the butter never melted. My husbands steak was to tough to cut. I did tell the server that I wanted a doggie bag to take the cold potato home, he did get me the bag, but said nothing about the cold potato. I went to the ladies room and I think that it was washed with soap, but that the soap was never rinsed off, what ever it was, was also on the bathroom stall, I did tell the cashier and my server about it. The bathroom was very slippery and hard to walk in, I was afraid that someone could fall.. I did try to take the survey listed on my receipt, but both the phone number given and the web site said that they were no longer running the survey. No, we won't be back. IC

100 W San Carlos St
When I first arrived, it was difficult to find the restaurant as there was no signage. We arrived at the restaurant early and decided to have drinks in the bar. The bartender was terrific! I got to try Reislings by the glass that are very rarely available. What a treat!\r \r Dinner was great - we started with the ahi tartare (classic) and shared a huge ""cowboy"" ribeye, with duck fat fries (yum! I have to go to my trainer for 2 extra sessions!) Burrata cheese with beets was the salad. It was also delicious. Slightly disappointing were the generic desserts - maybe we were just too full!

19.McCormick & Schmick's Seafood & Steaks
170 S Market St
My ""date"" suggested if (for our first date together, she had been there once before years ago and liked it)..\r I got there early and when I sat down at the bar I saw that a recently met friend was the ""Bartender""! (I hate the taste of alcohol, but he mixed me a pair of ""Long Islands Ice Tea's"" and they were EXCELLENT!)\r My ""date showed up and he fixed her a ""Virgin Bloody Mary"" and she said it was perfect (Thanks, Mike L"")\r \r Our seats were ready at the exact time they were promised on a Saturday night, place was full on a ""Sharks Night"" even after the beginning of the game The entire staff was courteous, constantly moving without acting as if ""overwhelmed"" by the crowd and were attentive and helpful throughout the evening. \r \r The steamed muscles with white wine sauce were excellent (I highly recommend them...great sized portion, enough for three to enjoy...but I finished the dish off MYSELF without any help!) My date ordered a shrimp cocktail that looked tasty and was well presented. The bread also was good and the waiter made sure that we never ran out.\r \r My date ordered (an ""Atlantic"") Salmon, she enjoyed it and it was a good looking, though small piece of fish. She had ""no complaints"", and said the portion was ""just right"" for her. I had some ""crab cakes"" and rice pilov (SP?). I was able to pour some excess wine sauce over the rice and it was DELICIOUS that way..really, try it! The portion was adequate, though I was hoping for more for the price. EVERYTHING was fresh, presented well, served in a timely manner and cooked well. I'd have no problems recommending these dishes. \r I WON'T forget to ADD that the DESSERTS were exquisite and well worth the moderate price!\r \r Overall a wonderful night!
20.Flames Coffee Shop

If you are looking for a delicious omelette, or pancakes, and a great cup of coffee, then CHOOSE FLAMES Santa Teresa! And do not get me started on the delicious cakes and pies they have. They have a NEW selection that will make your jaw drop! Seriously, they are worth a drive just to take home a special treat! I have been going here for YEARS and I really love it. The staff are friendly and make you feel appreciated. This is essential in my book. Good food is one thing, but great customer service is what keeps you coming back! Everyone there makes it worthwhile to continue to recommend them highly. so a big thank you to the owner, management staff, servers, kitchen staff and even the bussers, that make Flames a great place to take a family.

The burgers are chargrilled & very tasty - the fried ""munchers"" are yummy onion straws - fries (frunchers) are not that good though. Atmosphere is grimy, but food is very good if you like grease !
