We accidently went to this restaurant. We had reservations for the restaurant next door but when we walked into Gigi's we decided to stay. We LOVED the atmosphere and the food. Never got the name of the hostess (she is the sister-in-law of the owner) but she was fabulous! We sat at the counter and enjoyed the food (delicious) and our chats with the hostess and Elias, one of the cooks. We will tell everyone we know to go to Gigi's if they go to San Francisco.

You must get the Ahi Tuna bowl here. I try to get this at least once every two weeks. You can add brown rice if you dont want white rice. Sweet potato fries and dipping sauce are also amazing.

Perfect restaurant that's right on the water. I am glad that I was able to take my wife out here for our anniversary dinner. I think it was the perfect place. We had amazing seafood. Probably the best we have ever had. But we were also really impressed by the service. Our waitress was so sweet, I wish I caught her name. But I'm sure the entire staff is all the same. I highly recommend this restaurant on the water.

10.Tarantino's Restaurant On Fisherman's Wharf
206 Jefferson St
Phenomenal! The views of the Bay are spectacular, the service is outstanding and the food is wonderful...my mother and I were in San Francisco over Christmas in 2011 and we wanted to eat on the Wharf. I had the sole special that night and the fish along with the lemon caper sauce was amazing. My mom's salmon was out of this world! If you want a terrific wharfside seafood meal when in San Fran, I definitely recommend Tarantino's.

Try the BBQ duck, mushu burritos, stir-fried greens with oyster sauce or garlic, noodles (soft or crispy), or make a special request and the chef will create...
726 Clement St
There might 10000 other chinese restaurants in that street but we always go back to Ocean! The food is always great (fried octopus, sweet prawns!!) and VERY inexpensive... the service is fast, efficient and NICE eventhough we don't speak chinese! So if you're in the neighborhood and all the restaurants look the same to you, go to Ocean you won't regret it!

After a busy morning we stopped in for lunch at Lou's on the west-end of the Wharf. It's right at the entrance to Scoma's (down the alley to the pier). The service was great, as well as our orders, a brisket sandwich and crab cake sandwich... The complimentary clam chowder was some of the best I've had. Lou's is a quality, authentic, and affordable, place that is right on the Wharf. I highly recommend it.
18.Ming River Seafood Restaurant
825 Filbert St
Ming River does not seem like a special restaurant, but the food and Uncle Bill make this one of the most comfortable places to eat your favorite Chinese food. You can choose from a variety of fresh vegetables, seafood and more. If you do not know what to order, just as Uncle Bill. He will make sure that you leave very full and satisfied.

We wanted great clam chowder, sourdough and some Caesar salad. We found it!!!
So I saw this eatery featured on NBC's ""Today"" Show earlier this spring. Thinking to myself, hmm, I'm a native to the City and love finding tasty digs, I wanted to give this place a chance. Lots of the menu consists of fried food, but that's not a deterrent for me. If you're not into that, they've got shrimp & crab poorboys and (obviously) chowder bowls to suit your palette. The staff is young and efficient. The open air kitchen lets you keep an eye on the food preparation, which is always to see where your grub comes from. In any case, I guess NBC was right: This is a tasty place that won't break your wallet. Try it!
21.Pier 2620 Hotel
2620 Jones St
is central to the touristy Fisherman's Wharf area and very close to trolley and public transportation. The hotel is nice but nothing fancy. The rooms are basic yet clean. The staff was very helpful and worked with us on an early check-in. I would stay here again however I would opt for something a little closer to center city and away from Fisherman's Wharf. However if you are there as a tourist this hotel would be a great spot.
22.Neptune's Waterfront Grill
Food and Service is great. My favorites are the Clam Chowder and NY Cheesecake, its the best I have tasted out of all the San Francisco Restaurants I have visited. Its also now become the restaurant where me and my fiance visit every year for our anniversary and Valentines Day for the past 4 yrs.

We tried Anchor & Hope recently, hoping for a really good fish restaurant. The food was fine but definitely not worth the new-restaurant-hype and I don't think we'd go back. It may be a great raw bar but we're not into sliders. The appetizers were good, not great, and we shared a whole roasted fish for our main course. When it arrived, the head had been removed, probably before it was even cooked. I've never been to a restaurant that serves a whole fish but serves it without the head. I asked the waitress about this and she said they'd received feedback that people prefered it without the head. Maybe they should server tuna out of a can too. Sadly, the fish was quite bland. I'm not loking for something spicy but I've had lots of really great roasted fish that is delicate yet flavorful. This was delicate but flavorless.
25.Bubba Gump San Francisco
This restaurant was well worth the wait! It was jam packed, but views overlooking the water made for a great setting. Anything with shrimp on the menu was wonderful; I personally loved the shrimp cocktail!
26.Upper Crest Deli & Grill

I eat here everyday and everybody ive taken here has gone back.. good variety of foods there Philly Cheese Steaks are the best i have ever had.. The guy in the front his name is Mike will always have you walk in with a laugh and leave with a smile. Going in there just gives you that welcoming feeling.. Got to check it out..
One would never expect such great tasting burgers from the looks of Sam's, but no one that I've taken here has been disappointed (and I've taken a lot of people)! Truly unmatched, I would take a Sam's burger over any gourmet burger!

This spot was my go-to for a solid year. Many of my favorite staff members have moved on but the new wave still seems to be knowledgeable. And while they have gotten rid of their $1 oysters and bumped up other prices as well, the food is still delicious (Try their duck heart skewers and the double-down burger -one pork patty, one beef). This is definitely the place to go if you are having an oyster craving, and I hope you get there on a day that they have Effinghams! Their Kentucky Derby party is also always a must go to event.

Happy Palace is our new best neighborhood place to eat. We used to frequent Hong Sing in Glen Park but the food went downhill so we found Happy Palace. There are always specials and we've never had a bad dish come out of the kitchen. Frankie is the waiter and he's always pleasant and prompt in seating and serving. We had a large party of 37 there not long ago and they were so accommodating, Sam, the owner took very good care of us, serving 37 people is quite a chore with only a few cooks in the kitchen and 3 wait staff but they rose to the occasion. \r The food is typical Chinese, my favorite is the salted fish/chicken fried rice, never overly salty. \r

As a foodie, I wanted to try this concept restaurant involving locally produced ingredients and largely organic fare. It was good, ordinary but good. Think of giving your grandma an organic piece of beef and she makes a stew--but that she was just a mediocre cook. A breaded sole was dry and not particularly flavorful. Halibut was good, but could have been better. A beef stew that was part of special combo of steak and stew (they had a cooler name for it) was virtually inedible--just the kind grandma must have loved--cause it's just like hers tasted! There was a mediocre wine list of over-priced largely organic options. The wait staff was pleasant, and helpful, though obviously "in on the joke" that the food was relatively ordinary, but they'd pretend it was the prelude to the second coming.
