Locksmith Emergency
These Locksmith Company are awesome. I grabbed the wrong set of keys on my way out the house on a Sunday and didn't realize it until I closed my door (locked from the inside). I was able to open my security door by sticking in hand through the mail slot, but the 2nd door was still locked. I called a few smiths who couldn't get out to me until later in the day. I then called Express Locksmith Store who could reach me in less than 30 minutes and were priced competitively. Henrry got me in my house in less than 10 minutes (after checking proper ID and the such) and even repaired my damaged mail slot. The customer service was great from the initial call to payment. I'll definitely call them first next time.

Express Locksmith Store has a 5-star rating for a reason. I called them this morning to rekey two doors in my house, and they were able to send a locksmith within the hour. The person answering the phone was very polite and helpful, and it was very easy to set up my appointment and get my questions answered. John was the locksmith that arrived, and he was polite, knowledgable, and worked very quickly and efficiently.Seriously, this was absolutely a five-star experience. I'm really glad that these are the folks i called.

Locksmith Emergency
Very pleased with my experience with Express Locksmith Store. The phone was answered promptly and courteously. They were able to be at my house within a few hours, solved the problem, educated me about how to work and maintain my slightly unusual locks, and there were no surprises when it came time to pay the bill. Locksmiths are perfectly positioned to gouge their often desperate and in-a-bind customers, but Express Locksmith Store didn't take the slightest advantage of that fact. What's not to like?

I recently bought a house and wanted to rekey and update the locks (for Keyless entry and high security). This company was great, very responsive, and wonderful to work with. They came and walked the property and gave me a quote to complete everything. Once I have them the okay they got started working. They finished the entire job in one day (it was a lot) and didn't stray from the quoted price. They even threw in a bunch of extra keys! Definitely recommend these guys. Thanks for your help!

I contacted Capitol Locksmith Service about some trouble with a sticky lock. I received a prompt response with advice on how to fix the problem on my own, as well as pricing for if I was unable to. Extremely professional, especially given that they could have just charged me. I'll definitely be using these guys the next time I have an issue! PS: They also offer a discount if you contact them through Online. Awesome!

Koltigen and Daughter Emergency Locksmith
Koltigen and Daughter Emergency Locksmith did a great job re-keying my front door lock. The other day I went for a walk after work and somehow lost my house keys. I searched Google for a local locksmith and found this company. I called and they were very helpful on the phone. About 20 minutes later a technician showed up and re-keyed the front door to my home. I am very satisfied with the job done.

this locksmith company was great. I made an appointment and they were on time and very professional. I needed a bunch of locks rekeyed and they gave me an honest and fair price. Danny, the technician, even gave me a security home inspection for free and told me of ways I can improve the security of my home (by myself ! Without having to pay someone)Thanks.
Tips & Advices
Locksmiths-in-training can receive foundational knowledge and skills through programs offered at technical colleges or vocational schools. These would include basic courses on lock mechanics and manipulation, along with general skills like business management. From there, most trainees seek an apprenticeship, where they work alongside a professional locksmith. This allows them to gain experience in the field. It can also put them on a course toward certification.
Upon arrival to your home, a locksmith should ask you to prove that it is in fact your residence. They should also be able to unlock most common locks without requiring them to be drilled or completely replaced. Be sure to obtain an invoice that lists all charges before agreeing to pay.
  • If possible, research local locksmiths online and take note of any that have poor reviews or complaints.
  • When calling a locksmith, confirm their address matches what you found online or in a directory. Then ask for a cost estimate for the service you need, and ask to have them bring a written copy of this estimate.
  • Some states require locksmiths to be licensed. If your state is one of them, require the locksmith to bring proof of registration when they arrive.
The term locksmith traditionally referred to people who designed and built locks, but today is generally used for those who repair and replace locks. Locksmiths can be available on-call to help people if they're locked out of their home or apartment.
  • First, determine the type of lock you have, as well as the manufacturer or model if possible. You should also obtain measurements of your door and frame.
  • Remove exterior and interior knobs by unscrewing any visible screws you find. Many knobs will include a decorative cover on the interior side that can be removed.
  • Once you've removed the entire lock, find the screws on the inside of the door frame to remove the latch or deadbolt.
  • With everything removed, repeat these steps in reverse order to install the new lock.
