Saturday March 25 2017 1130 am PSTJ & L Automotive Repair – “7 STAR HONDA REPAIR SERVICE!” It is an ABSOLUTE PRIVILEDGE & HONOR to write this review. I have NO HESTITATIONS OR DOUBTS with sending consumers, who are in need of vehicle service & repair wor to J & L Automotive Repair. My 2003 (13 yrs 6 mths- 35,000 miles) Honda Civic LX needed LOTS of repairs: Flywheel, Clutch Kit, Front Left Strut Assembly, Battery, Power Steering Reservoir, Line Hose, & Cap, 4 Wheel Alignment, Manual Transmission Fluid, Engine Fluid Check & Refill, & Hood Lift Repair. This service & repair was “LABOR INTENSIVE” – especially the 1st, 2nd, & 3rd procedures. J & L needed close to 16.5 hours of labor to complete the entire requested repairs, service, & maintenance. Was the final bill a lot? Yes, it was. Most importantly, I truly feel, it was money WELL-SPENT @ J & L Automotive Repair. Warranty Statement: Parts & Labor are 12 month or 12,000, or whichever occur first.Communication Log: 1-Wed 3.22.17 302 pm Joe Update: 2- Th 3.23.17 Car Ready for PICK UP. Picked up car on Friday, 3/24/17 @ 10 am. Plus-I came equipped with a LED Flashlight to inspect all of the work completed. I appreciated Joe’s (Owner) attitude regarding my request to be shown all the work completed on R.O.#: 20336. It didn’t phase him -nor did my request upset him. Nice! He maintained a professional, courteous, & welcoming attitude towards me. When J & L’s Owner opened up the hood on my car, I was BLOWN AWAY! The engine looked like the day, I took it out of the showroom. I have never seen the engine look so clean, especially for a car this mature!After I saw all the: professional attention & detail, plus- 7 Star Customer Service,” I had to IMMEDIATELY TRUST THE INTEGRITY of J & L Automotive Repair. I did though continue my inspection of the work completed. Car disabled on 3/15/17, had to move from Honda SF to J&L for "lack of response" to texts & emails. Joe fixed it in 2 1/2 days. This facility gets an A for good old fashion customer service and showing genuine courtesy and kindness to me. I was visiting from Southern Calif on my way up to San Francisco to run a marathon when I got into a car accident. I was broadsided and the explorer I was in was not drivable. Without going into all the details suffice it to say that MBO service and care was outstanding. They stayed open late on a Friday evening to receive my towed explorer (even though the Ford dealer would NOT), they had an employee drive me to the airport during the Friday rush hour, wait for me to get a rental car, transfer all my belongings to the rental car and lead me safely back to where I was staying. They coordinated all the insurance issues, were in regular communication with me and when the car was ready, picked me up from the airport so that I could reclaim my restored car. VERY KIND PEOPLE - ALL OF THEM!
I'm totally amazed by the fact that Pat's offers a free car-care class for women. I showed up for the 3-hour session one gray morning after hearing about it being voted "Best Mechanic" in the Bay Guardian's Best of the Bay 2006 poll. Over the spread of hummus and fruit and crackers and juice, I overheard Pat telling another participant (who appeared to be a regular customer) that he'd skipped his yoga class that morning to do the workshop. The other mechanics strolled in and, in a very laid-back, approachable, informative way, took our small group of women around the innards and underbelly of a car to show us everything from how an engine works to where exactly to pour in more windshield-wiper fluid.

I don't know a whole lot about cars, but when my van started dipping forward every time I braked, I figured something was wrong. After sliding into my steering wheel one time too many, I took my van to the 76 Station on 19th Ave. They told me that my shocks had gradually gone bad, and were even starting to mess with my tires. Joe was super professional and able to get me fixed up right away and now my van rides like a dream. Prior to taking a look on Yelp, I hadn't even realized the repair shop was there! I'd recommend them to my friends...but I think I may want to keep these guys to myself :)

If you are having any type of vehicle problem bring your car to Valencia Auto Clinic, The Transmission Experts. Brought my Jeep Grand Cherokee in because it was leaking oil. I didn't realize it was transmission oil. Quickly their mechanic was on my car, drained the oil, put a new filter and sealer gasket to prevent any more leaks.These guys are the greatest...I could have blown my transmission!!!Thanks guys, while I was there I had them change my oill and spark plugs, all while I waited. Super quick job and priced fairly.
Pat's is, without question, the best Honda servicing business in California and the rest of the lower 48, and I have been in dozens of these businesses over the 30+ years of driving Hondas all over this great country. pat's people are the best, most efficient, and easiest to work with auto service workers I have ever encountered or heard of. And they are pleasant, honest and incredible helpful to deal with. There might other auto servicing garages in California, but for my money and my Honda, Pat's is the only place to go.
I feel really lucky to have Pat's Garage look after my Honda. My last visit was only for an oil change, but they noticed a damaged tire and advised me to get it replaced. There was nothing in it for them, as they saw it was a Costco tire, and I replaced it through Costco the same day. I always appreciate their big-picture approach to caring for the car, and their willingness to discuss my questions and concerns openly. They have earned my trust through years of friendly, skillful and honest service.
