Bridge Theatre in San Francisco, CA
429 Castro St
Went to the Frameline's film festival the other night to view Baby Jane? The theatre was packed with an enthusiatic audience. The enviornment is wonderful, the decor magnificent. A thrill to watch a film there. It is great that the theatre was restored to it's true intent. Love seeing films in old theatres. The cinaplex can not hold a candle to the old beauties.
2.The Warfield Theatre
982 Market St
Such a historic San Francisco venue to see a show. Old theatre so old seats in balcony. Great sound and packed when I went last.
1192 Market St
Fabulous vintage theater. Just saw the amazing Hamilton there. As close as you can get to a Broadway theatre-type experience on the west coast.

These guys have to be the best live theatre deal in town. The chemistry between the players is great, and their shows are really, really funny! Even the dramatic performances have good humor in them, and after single show I can't believe they aren't cheating and using a script! 3 of my friends & I have signed up for improv classes after seeing BATS perform - and those are a blast too! (Oh, also, FYI they DO have beer, soda & candy for sale - it's on the other side of the theater)
2340 Chestnut St
This theater is my favorite place to go when I'm bored. I don't know what it is about it, but it's just so fun to go to such a great place that has great movies, but in a cozier athmosphere. Best of all, there are two parking lots... each of which are only four blocks away.
6.The Balboa Theatre
3630 Balboa St
This is a great little theatre. Friendly staff, great shows, and two for the price of one viewings. Yay!
7.Four Star Theatre
2200 Clement St
I love the four star! It's only six blocks away from my house and it has a great selection of movies. I've been there once and it is a little on the old side, but I love that its tucked in the Richmond and was able to watch a movie completely by myself. The staff is super friendly and their is a large variety of concessions.

Beautiful intimate theater. I saw Hugh Jackman's one man show here it was absolutely wonderful to be so close to the stage. Its not a mega big theater. It felt like a small private showing love the feel of it. Staff was very friendly.
2149 Chestnut St
good place. good seating. great concessions great food good people. great movie selection. nice neighborhood theatre. always enjoy seeing movies here. I look forward to seeing any more movies here.
2261 Fillmore St
A very cute cozy theatre. Dim intimate lighting is a major plus. However, they keep advertising Dolby Digital sound on thier marquee, but they often don't show the movie in digital sound. Also, the selection of movies they show here doesn't turn over enough. They'll usually show a film for 8-12 weeks.
11.Lusty Lady Theatre
1033 Kearny St
Really gross. Its a peep show set up, so the smell here is sickening. Went there once, couldnt believe that people work there. How do they "lusty ladies" act all hot to trot with that reek in their nostrils? Wouldnt go back though have thought about it. I didnt get my moneys worth if you know what I mean, wasnt looking too though. By the way there was a pretty young blonde dancing when I went, and I'm pretty sure she was a few months pregnant...yowzers! Gross.
12.American Conservatory Theater

I had pricey tickets for the matinee on will-call, but being from out of town, failed to reckon with horrific Sunday afternoon traffic. Unable to find parking, literally within miles, I missed the opening curtain. When I phoned the box office to request a seat at another performance I was rudely refused any accommodation whatever by a snotty, dismissive employee, even though he readily admitted there were many seats available for the very next performance! These folks obviously do not appreciate or encourage out of town patronage. Give 'em a miss!
