My husband got a new job up north and we had to move. We have three little kids and a teenage daughter, you can imagine how much toys, wardrobe and random clutter we have. There was no way I packed all that myself! I told my husband that I will be needing help, he said he will look into it. And then a good friend of ours recommended to call Packing Bees as he used they services just recently and was extremely satisfied. We trust our friend so we called their number 619-892-7836 that same day to get a quote. Dmytro picked up the phone. He was very polite and professional, he asked me a lot of relevant questions to get an idea of what we expected from their company. Then he offered to come by for a free in-house estimate, that sounded great so we agreed to meet up the next day. The next day Dmytro called to confirm is we still wanted him to come. I said of course haha ) he showed up 15 minutes early, introduced himself and asked to show him around. On his face I read he was a little shocked of how much stuff we managed to fit in our three bedroom house. He gave us very affordable hourly rate that included all the boxes and other materials they use. He said we could buy our own boxes but I said no thanks, bring yours haha.On the packing day Dmytro brought two other employees, one of them was a female, I thought it was very nice. Lauren is a kitchen pro! She is funny and respectful. Dmytro and Nathan worked on the rest of the house. They worked for 8 hours with one lunch break. Next day when my husband brought the truck Dmytro came with two other guys to help us load everything. They were done in under 6 hours. They packed everything very well, it was obvious that they were professionals. I wish we could bring Packing Bees with us to help us unload and unpack thank you bees! Two thumbs up!

Huge thank you to Move Central! This company is great! We had a big move of our home and home office and I was very skeptical about who we could trust to help us. I called several moving companies and felt uneasy with my experience over the phone until I spoke with Stan at Move Central - he was such a professional and knew all of the right questions to ask. I immediately felt comfortable with his ability to plan and schedule our move. The real test came on moving day and I was thrilled to see that the movers arrived on time and prepared for a long day of hard work. These guys were amazing - they handled every challenge we had efficiently, safely and without complaining. We had a piano, appliances and an entire home business to move and they figured out the best way to manage it all. They took care of the whole moving headache for me so that I could worry about other things. I have had bad experiences with movers in the past and never thought that moving could be a good experience but Stan and Move Central proved me wrong. I love these guys and I will continue to recommend them to anyone I know who is moving. Don't risk a bad experience with another company - you will not be disappointed with Move Central!!

Best Rate Movers
This company is the best long distance moving company that I have ever used. Their service is spectacular. Not only were they friendly, their services are very prompt and timely. It was definitely worth the money and made my relocation from California to Texas a whole lot easier. The best thing about it is that this company was able to move my personal belongings much quicker then I expected, especially when you consider that I had so much stuff to move. I was worried initially because I was unsure how I was able to get all my belongings across the country. That was when I picked up the phone and called this company to see if they could possibly assist me in my transition of moving to a new home. They were able to provide me with an estimated time of arrival of when my belongings will be delivered, which was very helpful since it gave me time to plan ahead for getting settled in my new home. The movers provided the man power to move all my heavy items that I never could move by myself. I am thankful for this company for providing me with excellent service and would recommend them to anyone needing a long distance.

Dominant Moving Company
I used Dominant Moving for a local move of my 3 bedroom apartment from Del Mar to Hillcrest.Moving crew of 3 strong guys, uniformed in nice blue t-shirts, arrived on time. Truck was big and clean inside and outside. Movers spend about 5.5 hours to move my apartment. They took a lunch break but excluded it from the bill. (Both locations were 2nd floor with the stairs). They worked pretty fast and professional, wrapping each piece of furniture. There were absolutely NO DAMAGES after. They disassemble and put back together my beds. Movers were very courteous and really cared about my furniture.Customer service was very friendly and easy to communicate with, they took care of all my concerns. Their rates were very fair and better than other companies and final price did not exceed the quoted price. This is a real professional moving company, they are licensed and insured. I spent a little over $500 and tipped movers $30 each (they deserved every dollar). Very happy with the service, already recommended to my friends.

Best Rate Movers
I have moved long distance many times both in the military, and for business. None of the companies I used in the past really impressed me which is why I went searching for a new mover. After much research and conversations I settled with Best Rate Movers. My decision was based on reviews I read online as well as my conversation with my sales rep, Karen. We came up with a plan to move the items I was bringing with me and agreed upon a price. The price was said to be guaranteed based on my inventory of items we went over yet I was still somewhat skeptical. The crew, led by Marco arrived when they said they would and I must say they did a fantastic and very efficient job. My delivery came earlier than expected and upon my inspection I noticed that there were no damages at all. In addition, the price did not change from the original quote Karen and I went over. I think I have finally found a mover that I would definitely use again as well as recommend to friends and family. Thanks so much guys!

Cube Moving and Storage Inc
I found cube moving and storage on Yelp. They had hundreds good recommendations and I've decided to give them a try. I had 2 bedroom condo with loft to move. James recommended to go with 3 men crew ( because it was 2 level townhome ) in order to make it faster and more efficient. Moving appointment was set at 8-9 am , but movers arrived at 8am sharp . After signing the contract they immediately started working. 2 and a half hours later everything was inside of their huge van . I moved only few miles away in Mission valley , San Diego . New house is 2story also . Guys delivered all the furniture without any scratches , Set up my beds and places boxes where they belong to . Everything was done in 5 and a half hours ( very impressive in compare with company I've used last time ). Movers were very polite and friendly , always asking where I want the furniture to be placed . Thumbs up. Thank you Cube movers .

Best Rate Movers packed my 4 bedroom house and loaded everything onto their moving trailers. Sonia was our moving consultant and made sure that I understood everything and answered all my questions in advance. She called before the move to make sure that our experience went as planned and without problems. She was excellent and represented the company very well. The company custom-built two crates for our flat screen TVs. The TVs were not harmed during the move and work perfectly well. The lady packers arrived at the appointed time, looked over what was to be done, and began wrapping and packing. They did a wonderful job. We had NO breakage, not even one wine glass. The loaders arrived and began loading the trailers better than we ever would have been able to do. Our belongings arrived damage free. Thanks!

I am not one for Internet reviews, however my word is important to me and I gave my word to this company's employee that if all went well I would put the word out. I contracted these folks through a moving service on line. I was very hesitant about the entire process. When the young men showed up at my house I was a bit concerned being I had never moved with a mover. Been in Arizona for over 12 years now. The men were polite, professional and worked very hard. After all was said and done, I did have to pay more for packing of some antiques. Which was ok since they are worth more than the packing charge. I received my possessions yesterday and the delivery went smoothly although took several hours. My antiques are intact and I am relieved to be settling into my new home. Thank you again for a great job!

I was so scared to have anyone move me because the last time I moved the company I used was late, overcharged me (I didn't know till later) and broke several items and gave me the excuse, 'It happens.' I checked out the website and then called the company and let them know what I needed. They were always really polite and answered all of my questions. When I asked about specific details of the moving process I was very pleased that what I was told actually happened. I had to be moved quick because I was starting a new job. I would tell everyone I could to use this place. The are amazing. They have the best customer service I have ever seen. When the workers came to move me they were all very polite, nice in their presentation and super careful of my items. You cannot go wrong using this company!

While the workers did a good job and worked hard, I feel like I was gouged with extra fees. I had a bid to move a 2.5 bedroom condo and storage unit. They insisted it could be done with 4 men in one day. By noon they sent a second truck with two more men. Ok... they should have come to do an in house estimate. But then they couldn't finish in one day so they charged me $400 to keep my stuff in their trucks overnight. The next day they also added $230 for driving time back to the shop that night before. Seems like they messed up in the quarter and made me pay for storage and an extra hour of drive time when they had to go back to the shop anyway. ... watch out for the extra charges. I thought I was going to pay about $2200. I ended up over $4000 to move 6 blocks.
Tips & Advices
Yes, it’s best to empty drawers, wardrobes and chests before a move. Items always get knocked around a bit, and doors can fly open even if they’ve been taped. In fact, more often than not, movers will want to remove the drawers from a dresser--or disassemble the wardrobe to be more space-efficient.
Yes, it is customary to tip movers, but the amount varies widely. For full-service moves, a 5 percent tip is suggested, although, for extra service, some people go up to 10 percent . For small local movers, you can give each mover $10 for a few-hour job, or $20-$40 for jobs that take longer.
A bill of lading is the legal contract for the move. It provides a detailed receipt, in addition to a contract between the client and the mover. It authorizes the mover to transport the goods from one specific point to another, and it outlines the exact scope of services, with cost breakdown for those services. It also provides an itemized list of the inventory, and carrier liability protection for each declared item. Finally, it specifies the payment arrangement. Make sure to go over your itemized list extremely carefully before finalizing the paperwork--and get a copy of the full document. A good mover will go over everything on the bill of lading with the customer.
There are several items that moving companies will not move – those items will be listed on a document as “non-allowables.” These items typically fall in three categories: perishables, sentimental/personal items, and hazardous material. Perishables are food and plants. Sentimental/personal value is up to the client to decide, but usually includes jewelry, medical and dental records, personal paperwork, valuables and collectibles. Hazardous material is the tricky category, since it includes a lot of everyday items found in the garage, garden or kitchen. For example, cleaning liquids and pesticides both are considered non-allowable by many companies. Some go so far as to disallow nail polish and batteries.
A binding estimate means that the moving company cannot charge more than the stated amount, though they can lower the final bill if the scope of the job was smaller than expected. A non-binding moving estimate is more likely to wind up costing more than expected, since the movers can increase their rates for unforeseen variables like stairs, “long carry” and materials.
