They gave me a written estimate for a convertible top replacement. About an hour after they had the car, they called me and asked what price I had been quoted! When I told Brenda, she stated that could not be correct and they would not do the work for that price. It was classic bait and switch, they figured they had the car, my day was shot and I would agree to pay more but I said no, if they could not honor the estimate I would come back and get my car. They had started removing the old top and since I was taking the car they would do nothing to put it back together! I was glad I got out of there with most of my old top. They denied the written estimate, they told me I was kinda dumb and that they would never quote that price, etc., etc.Looks to me to be total scam.
QUALITY work on my 2007 Lexus es350. its a salvaged title, but you couldn't tell unless i told you so. i went through craigslist to find someone to spot paint the roof of my car. a salvaged title means we're doing the minimum to make the car look good to sell it.. and thats what they did to my car. i called bumber king because the clear coat on the roof started bubbling after i got it washed and detailed. dee called me back, gave me a great price and a day he could come out to me to do it. i called other places to see what they charged, and the prices they gave me were about the same, but i appreciated that dee called me right back. i set my appointment, dee came out and did the work! AWESOME! problem solved right? nope... another place on the roof decided to bubble as well.. called dee again, and since i only paid of the price to paint the whole roof, he honored the price he told me for the whole job, and just did the rest. he had to come back and buff it on each occasion, but that the process. th color matched perfect. what i like is this company guarantees their work, and is totally mobile!!!
In the world of business, looks account for little. The glitz and glamour of interior decorators and pristine design always makes me wonder; what do these people have to hide? Experienced consumers know that every layer of sea foam green painted on the walls represents an additional cost on the bottom line of my bill. What I, and any good consumer should look for, is quality of service. And along Adams Avenue, the full spectrum of this can be seen. But when it comes to my toys and those of my friends, I never recommend the spacious computer screen lit showrooms that have consistently over promised and under delivered when it comes to redoing the interior of my boat or truck. When I recommend a place, I recommend Abba’s Upholstery and Design. For me, decisions like this boil down to a specific price to quality ratio, and Abba’s is on the top of my list. While it is not the most beautiful store to look at, they do incredibly detailed work using top of the line products, like Palais Royal and Symphony of Silks, with the fastest finished turn-around I have ever had the pleasure of seeing in my twenty years of ownership with two water vehicles, one camper, and two trucks. The free estimate they offer is a solid promise, rather than the low-ball teaser price you find at most places. They also specialize in antique furniture work, so you can keep the family heirlooms from deteriorating into the moth worn kindling most of us have sitting in the attic. Is it beautiful to look at? Absolutely not. But is there a place you can get better quality products and work on upholstery and design? If so, I haven’t found it. The owner, Bassem, measures, sharpens, and cuts with a confidence that only decades of experience can afford. They know their work, and they do it well. There is no higher compliment in the world for a business than that.
