Barbara Denysiak MD
Well, there are several things I'm looking for when I seek out a family doctor. I look for professionalism, efficiency, compassion, and quality care. I was hesitant at first to go to Dr. Denysiak because of all of the negative reviews I've seen. I didn't have much of a choice as I had just moved to San Diego and preferred a female doctor (she was one of the few accepting new patients). I quickly realized by the smile of the receptionist and the ease of getting into see Dr. Denysiak that those reviewers must be bitter, spiteful people. Dr. D was gracious, smart, and listened well and was absolutely insightful into my worries and concerns. She told me she would help counsel me if I didn't want to go to a psychiatrist about my recent divorce, etc. etc. She diagnosed me with Major Depressive Disorder and put me on SSRI and throughout the following 2 months, she always supported me and helped me get to a good place. I also feel confident about her well woman exams, she's mastered it down to an art form. I usually get anxiety whenever I get Pap smears and pelvic exams. Dr.D put me at ease and was calm and professional. I'm thankful to Dr. Denysiak and her staff-- the nurse, Selena(?) is absolutely great! The only complaint I could possibly have is that sometimes the Secretary puts me on hold for too long. But at least the hold music is fun! Now, I'm just babbling. Well, I definitely recommend Dr. Denysiak to my best friend or anyone for that matter. Cheers and God Bless You.

Dr. Bates is a very caring and thorough dr. I have already recommended him to friends with joint problems. I have no complaints at all so far. I actually thought it was going to be a piece of cake but I was wrong, knee's at best are tough but I am five weeks out, pain in control, and walking without a walker or cane. Physical therapy is very important to a good outcome. Dr Bates is very honest and encouraging and staff is also wonderful.

Marque Urgent Care
Professional, fast and friendly. I was down here on a work trip and came down with something. I found Marque and couldn't be more relived that I did. The doctor was knowledgeable and made me feel comfortable. The best thing is looks like they're updating their clinic in the future, so it will be so much nicer than it is already! Thank you again Dr. Kiskila for making me feel better and the rest of the staff.

Excellent job. Dr Ballard performed a complicated rotator cuff surgery. My recovery happened in a short time, considering the extent of my injury. I am now back to swimming 800 meters daily 5days a week. Since my surgery I have had no problems. I attribute this to the expertise of my wonderful surgeon. I recommend this surgeon to anyone having a similar problem. Do not hesitate, it''ll be worth your while.

Dr. Ballard is everything and more, of what you expect from your Doctor. She has great energy, very positIve, kind, and a true healer. My measure of success is kindness, and the amazing people that surround you, she has both. My experience from the very first day when I went to the front and met Michelle, ( awesome) to everyone on her staff, who are the best. Very greatful. !!

Marque Urgent Care
I was referred to Marque through my insurance company. The check in process was clear &concise, wait time for doctor reasonable, diagnostic X-rays expedited, and I was given information for the nearest orthopedic clinic. I was in & out within 75 min. It was a very positive experience, especially considering I had broken my wrist and wasn't sure what to do or where to go next.

Barbara Denysiak MD
I have been Dr. Denysiak's patient since 1996. I have no complaints. If I have something going on, she gets to the bottom of it quickly by sending me for tests. I never have to prove to her I'm sick, like other doctors who treat you like you're lying to get meds or something. She's been nothing but nice to me over the years. I will continue to be her patient!

Marque Urgent Care
I had a visit to Marque Urgent Care last week and everyone was very helpful and willing to assist. I was having an awful day and they all helped to make me comfortable and relaxed. I really liked that they offered water or tea while we were waiting as well. Hopefully another emergency does not arise, but if it does I will be sure to come back.

A. Shamani Inc.
I haven't seen this level of caring and personal attention from a physician since I was a child. Dr. Shamani is absolutely amazing. She returns phone calls and follows up just to see how you're doing. I've received calls from her as late as 7:30 PM. The level of care and concern she has shown my wife and I is unsurpassed.
Tips & Advices
An osteopathic physician practices a comprehensive form of medicine that takes a holistic approach to a person's health. Instead of specializing in one system or set of organs, an osteopathic specialist focuses on the health of the total body. This includes evaluating environmental factors that affect a person's well-being.
Many family doctors deliver babies, especially in rural areas without a nearby OB/GYN. However, most family doctors only deliver for low-risk pregnancies and do not perform cesarean sections.
Family nurse practitioners are highly educated nurses able to provide medical care individually or with the assistance of another professional. Family nurse practitioners obtain a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and then take the National Council Licensure Examination to begin working as a registered nurse. Then, they continue their education and obtain a Master of Science in Nursing. Following that, they become certified in family practice via the American Nurses Credentialing Center of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, allowing them to become certified family nurse practitioners.
Some family doctors provide immunizations while others do not. Typically, doctors who work as part of a large practice are more likely to offer vaccines in-house. Doctors in offices of one to two physicians are more likely to refer patients to a public health department or other immunization provider.
A physician's assistant is a person qualified to perform routine medical services. This individual is professionally licensed and certified, but they may not have the extensive med school education of a doctor. That said, PAs do complete almost three years of postgraduate study and more than 2,000 hours of rotations.
