Pizzaplace Cafe
The owner eddie is one of the most down to earth individuals I've ever encountered. I lost my cell phone, and I had a good idea it was in my vehicle, so I had to find someone to call it, I went inside to ask for assistance, he could have said no, been selffish, and been on his way, but he went outside his store and helped out. So I returned his kindness by trying out the food. Being chinese, and having worked at domino's pizza for 4 years as a shift manager, and delivering pizzas on a bicycle in downtown San Diego, Pizza Hut in Mayport FL and Chula Vista CA for 1 year as a driver, Papa Johns for 1 year as a driver, and Broadway Pizza years ago as a cook, I have a pretty good idea what good pizza is, and I am also vegetarian. The pizza is fantastic, their is fresh, made to order and also pizza already made for fast service. They also have other foods and salads besides pizza. If you want down to earth, friendly stellar service, and great food, look no further. This is the place for you! From 1 to 10, I give it a 9.8. I will make YouTube movies later on this business and other businesses.I am also a former professional secret shopper/mystery shopper, I used to write reports for hours on the service of businesses, employees, almost like restaurant impossible, mystery diners and bar rescue, so I know good service when I see it, and if the employees actually care, were human, we make mistakes, I attempt to remain objective and fair. Ue kara Grill
Turning the tide and getting jobs back is Master Sushi Chef Gerardo Torres. Behind the counter at Ue Kara Grill he is serving up quality Sushi with jalapenos and cilantro. Thus knocking out the wasabe supplier and serving the balance of trade, keeping it all home grown and locally owned. The tea is Yamamotoyama though. At the helm of Ue Kara Grill is Arturo Ayala of Chula Vista. Building it through sweat equity, no bank's outrageous loans to tie him down. At times I think, "Like Sancho Panza he is chasing fish gills." I'd like to say he is 25 years too late but he is only 23 years old, shouldn't he be going Chinese? Whatever the case I will be fascinating to see his business grow. Torres is a creative chef with 15 years at Ichiban in PB and a two-year stint as head chef at Sushiya in Otay Ranch. Ayala's grandfather was the largest exporter of fish in the state of Morenos, Mexico. They have a fighting chance in a tough downtown market.Try the Sashimi Mexican Style. I had it with Yellow Tail Tuna, but I think with Salmon may have been a better selection. The dish was topped with jalepeƱos, lemon, cilantro, a seaweed salad and gobo. Nonetheless, it was a nice surprise like a jumbo ceviche and a beautiful photo op. In fact all of Torres' creations are almost too pretty to eat. The decor is not yet much to look at, but there is tile for a new floor in one corner, new higher tables are on order, and a liquor license application has been filed. Yogata! That is Japanese for Que Bien! He has a 42 inch flat panel in place and a large projection screen. Outdoor seating is available. There were no Foo Fighters, in fact the place was a bit too silent, make your mark drop off some classical Biwa (a pear shaped lute) or some hardcore Japanese punk.Ue Kara Grill also has a great selection of Udon Noodles, Bento (lunch) boxes for under $7.00 making it a destination for a quick and convenient downtown lunch and in San Diego, isn't it right to have Sushi with a bit of Mexican flair?

Point Loma Village Florist
In 2 words, Totally Thrilled. I picked Point Loma Village Florist originally because they were the closest florist to this woman that I've been trying to court for more than 2 yrs. I don't live in San Diego so I had no idea who the good florists were. I ordered a unique large fishbowl bouquet of orchids and other greenery on their website to commemorate our monthly anniversary, and asked them to please make it a nice one because I'm trying to win her heart over. Lydia wrote back and assured me that they would make it a very nice one. Soon as my friend saw it today, she texted to me, OMG! It's beautiful!! I saw a photo of it, and it truly is. She was totally thrilled and ecstatic over it, and she also mentioned that Point Loma Village Florist is the best florist in her opinion. Thank you a hundred times over Lydia! You've just made a new monthly customer!!! Anyone out there who's ordering from out of town, you can feel completely secure that this florist will exceed your expectations!

Dimille's Italian Restaurant
What a wonderful neighborhood Italian restaurant! . The menu is excellent, the ambiance is warm and inviting. The patrons are warmly greeted by the manager, Steve Zagen. He makes his patrons feel like he is genuinely happy to see them. When they leave, he genuinely thanks them for coming and says that he hopes to see them again. He visits the tables and makes sure the patrons are satisfied. Who does that anymore?! We actually thought he was the owner. Our waiter was excellent, as was the rest of the upbeat staff. ( He even gave us extra bread to take home. ) The menu is wonderful. The pizzas are fabulous because the dough is light and the cheese is top quality. They certainly don't skimp at DeMille's! The antipasti salad and appetizers are generous and delicious, as is everything on the menu. DeMille's is definitely worth the trip to Kensington. Dress is casual and families feel comfortable, as does everyone else. We will return, again and again.

Gaslamp Garage
Walking into the Gaslamp Garage, I notice that this was not a typical novelty store. The walls were covered with murals, the ceiling lined with old rims and tires, making true every sense of the store's name. On the back wall were Roxy, Hurley and Quicksilver clothing and accessories. This means that I could find a bathing suit for me and a gift for my little sister all in one store. I was impressed by the colorful decor and upbeat music. With 5,000 square feet of retail space, I could browse for hours. The coffee table books were fun, with titles like "He Said, She Said." Not only that, this store offers the largest selection of souvenir merchandise in San Diego. You can find anything from a T-shirt, keychain, shot glass, or fleece hoodie. The employees were professional, dressed in store polo shirts. I could definitely do a lot of shopping here.

Brigantine Seafood Restaurant
My husband and I were very disappointed with Brigantine. We wanted a romantic date night and heard this place was fabulous, so we made a reservation for Saturday night and drove almost 50 minutes to get here. Parking was ridiculous, come prepared to park on the street... the "parking lot" is incredibly small and PACKED. Once we got inside the restaurant the hostess made us wait for almost 20 minutes even though we had reservations. When we finally got to our table we had to sit in a dark corner near a window looking into a sketchy alley. Not quite the romantic evening we envisioned. Our service was slow and the food was bland. I've had better seafood pasta at the Olive Garden. We practically had to yell in each others ears to speak to one another because it was so ridiculously loud in there. Definitely won't be coming back here again.

Filippi's Pizza Grotto
I visited the newly remodeled Filippi's. I went into the new area and sat down. I was waiting awhile until a waitress named Ashley came up to me and asked had I been helped. I said "no" and she was very bright and helpful. She took my order and made me feel like I was welcomed in the restaurant. I had some items from there appetizer menu which were good. I had previously visited Filippi's and had the lasagna(it is my favorite). The food could have been better, but they may be getting use to the new building. I did appreciate the help and service from the waitress, she was amazing. I will return

Pizza Hut
Great Service and Very niceThey accurately tell you how long it will take and when you order online the estimated time is precise, they are very nice, polite, and offer you specials you might not be aware of. Delivery: they are very nice, don't take long at all.Overall great service, incredibly polite, they do get busy so sometimes it can take long, but its rare and normally they ask if you are willing to wait long or not. The store is always clean.SOOOO 5/5 is my review for them because i have not been dissappointed with their service at all.

Amore New York Pizzeria
When I'm in PB and my kids and I want pizza this is where we go. The staff is awesome, the food is ready quickly and the music is up to date. It's a nice break from the beach when you are hungry. Their pizza sauce is better then the chain restaurants and the price is right. The garlic knotts are amazing! Their toppings taste fresh and from the looks of it cut in-house. I've had their pasta a few times and my family has never complained. It's as close to making it at home. I would definitely recommend coming to amore if you are in the area!

O'Harleys Brewhouse & Pizzeria
What can I say, but extremely surprised how beautiful the place is. The pictures I had seen on line do it NO justice. Huge assortment of craft beer. We had the pizza which was wonderful and they even split it in to two sides. Buffalo Chicken and the Tony's Mighty Meat. The Mighty Meat is unbelievable!!! We also had an order of Penne Al Vodka. I'm not sure if it is their signature dish, but it should be. Lets just say that I live in La jolla and I would make it a designation trip for the Penne Al Vodka. A must eat! #goodeatsSanDiego
