Cali Bamboo
Above average in cost but appear to be durable and able to withstand regular use. I was concerned about traction when wet but seem to be safe and not slippery. Just recently installed so time will tell.

Cali Bamboo
We installed Cali engineered bamboo flooring less than a year ago. Followed all Cali requirements to the letter, including moisture checks, acclimatizing, installing underlayment, leaving gaps at walls, etc. In 11 months, I've had to repair or replace boards 9 times. I'm now at the point of tearing out more than 900 square feet of this miserable product and starting over. Bought it at Lowe's, which of course denies any responsibility. When I finally do contact Cali, they'll simply blame the installation, and refuse to accept liability. This is a deeply flawed and inferior product. Do not be fooled into wasting the thousands of dollars I have lost. Use anything else, but stay away from Cali engineered bamboo.

Jw Floor Covering
This is a review of my experience with MAURICIO TOLEDO and his co-installer JORGE. I purchased Pergo laminate flooring in the Coastal Pine back in June from The Home Depot and got a great deal on a discount on the flooring and installation. The project was originally estimated to take 3-4 days and when it was finally scheduled for October (the delay was per my request), they said it would be 2 days. The job took 3 days because not only did they have to remove the carpeting and bathroom vinyl, but some of the concrete needed to be re-done to make it level which takes drying time. I was fine with this and I told Mauricio I wanted them to take time to get the job done right and didn't want them to feel rushed.Mauricio and Jorge arrived early each morning and put in a full day's work, were totally professional and focused on their job, and cleaned up after their work each day. Both men were courteous, pleasant and respectful, explained what they were doing and why when I was in my condo and Mauricio kept me informed by being available by cell phone. Mauricio is a very sweet man and Jorge is very nice too. I felt happy and comfortable having them in my home. They both went the extra mile and helped me out by doing things I was unable to do myself. Both have wonderful work ethics and attitudes.THE INSTALLATION THEY DID IS AMAZING! They did a fantastic job, paid attention to detail, and I love my new flooring so much!I give Mauricio Toledo and Jorge 10 Stars! Thanks guys! You're the best!

Andraskos Flooring
Andraskos Flooring did a great job on our floors. Their ideas and suggestions were very helpful. The finished the job just like they promised and at a reasonable price. Local family owned business not a chain and I love supporting locally owned businesses. Check them out if you're in the market for new flooring, I will use them again if needed in the future.

Gregg spent time to educate us on how to select and install floors. His expertise has helped us finalize our floor search for almost one year. (We evaluated close to 10 flooring companies or installers.)

Tips & Advices
In most states, contractors are required to have a license before taking a job. Some states also require registration. To be licensed, contractors must pass an exam and meet certain qualifications that prove he or she is a competent flooring contractor. Registration is simply a list of who will be performing a job.
The time it takes to install flooring depends on the type of flooring and the size of the room or rooms involved in the project. In one day, a typical contractor can usually install up to 2,000 square feet of carpet, 600 square feet of hardwood or laminate, or 400 square feet of tile or stone.
  • Do you have a professional license, insurance, and a business liability policy?
  • Who will work on the project?
  • Do you subcontract, and do you screen workers and have insurance policies to cover them?
  • Do you have references or examples of your work I can see?
  • Do you charge for an in-home estimate?
  • What type of flooring is best for my home in terms of architectural consistency, environmental influences (such as whether a certain type of flooring will be affected by humidity in my area), and durability?
Legally, insurance is not necessary, but it's a good idea for flooring contractors to have it. When hiring a flooring contractor, ask whether the business is insured. If it's not, consider that a red flag.
A flooring contractor should know the pros and cons of each flooring option. These might include pricing, time of installation, durability, and average lifespan of the material.
