Wow! I just had lunch at La Tuna and it was great! I had the Chicken Sandwich. There was 4 in our party and we all enjoyed our selections very much. The food was hot, fresh and full of flavor. Looking at the other diners' dishes, I'd have to say everything looked great. The portions were generous. The service was wonderful as well. We had a great lunch and will definitely be back to try out some other dishes. It does get a little crowded at lunchtime, but we got there just before the crowd came in. There is not too much seating indoors, but there are plenty of tables outside in the shade of the pecan trees. Even at a little less than 100 degrees, people outside seemed to enjoy themselves. The shade of the trees really helped making it tolerable.
My boyfriend and I went there last night. I wouldn't recommend it. We were the first people there, arriving at 6:00 or so. Nobody greeted us when we arrived, so we sat down. No one came over to take our order and we didn't see anything about the happy hour specials we had heard about. Finally I went to the bar where the female bartender was busy chatting with a male employee (manager?). I asked her for a happy hour menu. She quickly named off a short list of specials. There wasn't a printed happy hour menu.Despite this, we ordered our drinks and tried to keep an open mind. (We had three drinks each and there was barely a dribble of alcohol in any of the drinks.) At one point, I went to the front because I saw a sign-up box for a giveaway. Nowhere did it say what the prize was, so I started chatting with another patron who was signing up also. We laughed because neither one of us knew what the prize was. Then a woman who had overheard our conversation came over and said it was for CD's and movie tickets. She told me she was going to enter last so her entry would be on top and she would be more likely to win. We laughed. Then she introduced herself as the hostess! I couldn't believe there was even a hostess because no one had greeted us or anyone else. Also, the fact that the hostess was trying to outsmart the patrons to win the prize seemed at the very least to be a conflict of interest.I had invited ten friends to join us later, and at that point I texted them and told them not to come. We went to Silo instead.Bottom line: Very disappointing. Awful staff. Weak drinks. We won't be back.
We go quite a bit and there is a bartender named Michelle, she always offers great service and gives the place a great friendly atmosphere.
I chose to have a private party here for my twins 15th birthday. We had the party last Sunday and it was a huge success! I've never dealt with such nice people as the managers and owner! Everyone was very attentive and very helpful. I highly recommend having your party here whether it's private or during business hours. We had such a good time! Thank you so much Ivory Lounge for making my twins birthday the best one yet. I can't wait for my next event! I'll def come back
Place is a joke. Run by amateurs. Show up for Game 1 of World Series and they are totally unprepared. It's a sports bar so you would think maybe they'd understand sports. But no. No food "unfrozen". The food I finally got was poor. I'd recommend finding another sports bar if you want to actually enjoy your night out.
.. Please watch out they will keep your deposit and make up lies about stuff that is damaged and not show proof and say it's been fixed already when you want to go by next day to see due to you clearly know there was nothing there .. We had a private baby shower And we made sure that the place was clean make sure you take pictures after your private party so you can get your deposit back or even ask for a walk through before you take off to insure that you get your deposit back they are SHADY ... Also they say no colored napkins on contract it says no where that you can't have printed napkins they need to change it to say only white napkins allowed just like you can only have scotch tape .. Be careful if you book here they will try every way to say you are lying when all your asking for is proof and you are ok with paying the fees if there indeed was damage
Slow service. Waitresses are rude. Not worth the wait. We don't plan on returning, and we will not recommend this business to anyone.
Yeah uh having a cop pat down (very grossly between your legs guys) everybody that comes in will not keep customers. This place will last 6 months tops. If they have to pat you down then that also tells you something about this craphole and the area. Avoid unless you like being violated.
Awesome specials every day of the week! Not a bad seat in the house! Located on the corner of 1604 & Hausman Rd. Check it out today!
This new sports bar is a bit hidden but worth the find. Bring some friends with you because you'll want to stay a while. A bartender named Yamil from Puerto Rico was friendly and knew his Spurs facts...good conversationalist and also an active duty Army Staff Sargent. The place is exceptionally clean and one of only a few that I've found here in San Antonio with a choice of draft beers on the cheap. They also carry your favorite mixed drinks. It's not a dive bar. They have live music and a bar menu that carries somewhat of a version of the Philly Cheese Steak and burgers. The owner named Dana makes sure everyone is on point for service. The bar features a few flat screens along with a huge screen to watch your favorite games. I highly recommend this bar although not five star but not far..who knows after this weekends updates.
