Pham Family Pharmacy
I went to the Pham Family Pharmacy today after visiting the Pham Family Dental Office for a tooth extraction. (See my review of the Pham Family Dental Office under that business name). I was not in any real hurry to get out of the truck so sent my adult daughter inside to get the prescription filled. The pharmacy did not have the dosage strength pills that the dentist prescribed so they called the dentist for me right then and got the prescription changed (for the better) for me. They filled the prescription quickly and were extremely pleasant and helpful. From the time my daughter entered the pharmacy until we were driving away with the prescription was LESS THAN 15 MINUTES. I am so impressed with both the pharmacy and the dental office owned and operated by this family that if they open a chiropractic office or a car lot I will be one of the first in line to do business with them for those products or services too. I am absolutely a real person sitting at home typing this in, it may sound too good to be true but seriously, I am a lifelong customer / client from now on.

Communicare health center
CommuniCare Health Centers is a breath of fresh air! Now that fewer physicians are accepting Medicaid patients I have found it extremely difficult to see a doctor for myself and my children. CommuniCare's east side location (E. Commerce) was not at all was I was anticipating it to be. The first thing I noticed as I drove into the parking lot was how clean it was. The staff greeted me as we walked in and the best part was that I was able to see an OBGYN and dentist on the same day. While I was at my appointments my husband got a check up and my children were able to see a Pediatric doctor and dentist. Talk about convenient! The experience far exceeded my expectations!

Oakdell Pharmacy
This is the place you want to frequent. Yes, they were less busy; however, there is no comparison. Their hours are extended. Their customer service is outstanding! The product that I was looking for, the plastic tips for canes, cost $7.00 for 4 (compared to Champs, $11 for 4). The place also comes across as organized & easily navigated. Very nice young lady helped me (about 1:00pm). Thank you!

The branch has been good to me while my 2 year stay thus far. Sunny the prop Manager is wonderful and does truly try to assist any matters she may be able to resolve. It's going through a lot of renovations right now so if you just expect that . Other than that its good! I recommend and can't beat price... no crime or hobos or I'll activittt here

CVS Pharmacy
Several times I had been here and it was crazy busy! Phone wait times were insane too. On 01/17/13 I was given excellent service!! My prescription was a transfer and it was handled in a timely manner. Hats off to Yvonne, pharmacy tech and pharmacist Chinedu Anekwe. Yvonne is always on the ball and very patient and kind!!

Walgreens
I want to apologize for a bad rating I gave this Walgreens.I said they would not OK both my pain meds I get from my Dr. I talked to them today and the problem was my insurance provider. The problem was taking care of and my medication filled by Walgreens. Again I apologize and thank you for figuring out the problem.

Olmos Pharmacy
Went there for lunch and the place was dead. The service was good and the food good but not GREAT. The atmosphere could be better. I thought it would be restored to really look like an old pharmacy soda shoppe, but it was very bare.

CVS Pharmacy
It was great customer service from the pharmacy to the cosmetics. I don't think I've ever been in a pharmacy, that was so helpful. They called in about my insurance and got my inhaler reduced from $88 to $35 dollars.

Broadway Pharmacy
Went looking for diabetic shoes and Ms. Debbie called all around town to find a store that still has them. (She would quit until she found a way to help me.) Wow!
Tips & Advices
Academic medical centers provide the widest range of specialty care treatments, including the latest technological advances, clinical trials, and surgical techniques. In general, an academic medical center is a better choice than a community hospital for complicated treatments or rare diseases. Pediatric intensive care, especially, is usually performed at academic medical centers.
Academic medical centers offer a broad range of specialized services, from allergists to urologists. Some of the larger medical centers have entire hospitals or clinics focused on a particular medical service, such as cancer treatment, though specialties vary among the centers. Patients whose community hospital or local doctors do not have the facilities or expertise to address complex medical conditions can be referred by their primary care physician or local specialist to a major medical center (there are more than a dozen in the United States).
Yes. In addition to their inpatient hospital services, medical centers can offer a wide variety of outpatient services, such as pain clinics, rehabilitation centers, surgery, imaging and laboratory, mental health treatment, and outpatient cancer treatment. Medical groups – doctors in private practice but affiliated with the medical center--will also have offices within the medical center.
Physicians, nurses, physician’s assistants, residents, and attending physicians makeup the clinical staff of an academic medical center.
Medical center accreditation is not required, but most centers work voluntarily toward accreditation because it represents higher standards of healthcare quality and patient safety.
