Las Colinas of Westover Rehab Center
Las Colinas of Westover Hills - San Antonio, Tx.On the surface, this place appears to be nice - fairly new - kept clean.Unfortunately this medical facility is understaffed. Service is poor. Management completely unconcerned. My mother-in-law checked in at Las Colinas on Fri. 5/15/15. She was to stay for 20 days. A 14 day stay at a Warm Springs facility nearby had just been completed. She had broken the upper part of one arm and required rehab as per her doctors orders. Her treatment there was excellent. We would have kept her at Warm Springs, but Medicare would only allow 14 days. During her stay at Las Colinas she became ill. On Wed. 5/20/15, xrays were taken and a nurse told her that she had pneumonia. It wasn't until Fri. 5/22/15 that a doctor entered her room to check on her. He speedily asked how she was doing; then turned to leave. I assume this was a staff doctor as she had no idea who he was.On Sun 5/24/15 she told my wife that no upper arm rehab work had taken place thus far. They rubbed her feet a few times. She was there for upper arm rehab work and that was made clear to the staff by my wife when she checked in. Doctors orders were provided. So after 10 days at Las Colinas, my mother-in-law had received none of the upper arm rehab work that she was brought there for in the first place.Just before we arrived on Sun. 5/24/15, she had a "run in" with one of the staff nurses. A rude woman to say the least. My mother-in-law needed help getting to the bathroom in her room and assistance with getting her pajama pants down and back up. This rude nurse yanked hard taking down her pajama pants and likewise did so pulling them back up. After the nurse got my mother-in-law back into her bed she snapped at her and said "why are you so grouchy".It's entirely possible she may have been grouchy. 10 days of often-times cold food and infrequent visits by the nursing staff along with none of the upper arm therapy she was to have received! My wife decided it was time to get her mother out of this place. We believed her pneumonia would likely not improve here and her rehab work was now 10 days behind schedule. My wife had to leave the room to seek a staff member about dismissal. No surprise to me, it took awhile. We were told that a director level person would be in at 9pm that night to discuss matters if we liked. It was now about 3pm. We're going to wait 6 hrs. to take this issue up with a mgt. person? You have to be kidding! This director level person should have been involved then and there; not 6 hrs. later. My mother-in-law is coherent. I noticed many rooms occupied by elderly people who were not. I could not help but wonder what kind of teatment they were or should I say were NOT receiving. After having my mother-in-law treated for pneumonia at an area hospital, we checked her into Sorrento on Fred. Rd. - a vastly superior facility. Las Colinas of Westover Hills is a subsidiary of Genesis HealthCare - Pennsylvania. Genesis needs to clean house at Las Colinas of Westover Hills in San Antonio, Tx. Think twice before putting your loved one in Las Colinas of Westover Hills. I will be talking to Medicare and Humana about this situation.

Of course the beautiful interior decorations make this place look great, but please do not let this fool you. As a former employee I can assure you that you should keep looking whether you are seeking placement for yourself or a loved one, or employment. The Administrator is careless and highly concerned with the bottom line ($$$$). This company does not care if the nursing staff if capable or have the adequate resources to care for patients their only concern is how much money they can make. The Administrator makes dietary and Central supply run under budget when ordering for the residents for example if there are 90 residents she makes them order for 85. She is highly unethical, the so called memory unit is not safe or secure as residents have gotten out unattended before. She allows residents to be placed n the locked unit whether it is appropriate for them or not. The staff are over worked and way under paid, and often are promised incentives, such as bonuses and the Administrator does not pay them what they owed. The practices are unethical due to the leader. The administrator lacks morals and ethics. The company that owns this facility provides very little oversight and is blind to the Texas way. Whether you are seeking employment or a home RUN AWAY AND NEVER LOOK BACK. This place and the boss seem charming, but I assure you that your best interest in not in their heart, BUT YOUR INSURANCE AND MONEY ARE.

This place should be shut down. Administration is a joke, Administrator spends more time "socializing" with female staff than focusing on patient care. Many of the residents I spoke with while my mother was in their care all hate being there. My mother continues to be left to soil herself.

Looks can be deceiving !!! If you truly care about your family member do not leave them in this facility. The patients are deprived of the most essential necessities such as food. Can you believe they do not have decent meals to serve their patients..??!! And if your love one has a special diet restriction he or she needs to follow ......you might as well forget about it!!

Momentum Physical Therapy
Five stars! Have been receiving therapy for about six weeks, twice a week, and it's definitely helped. Very friendly and professional staff, and an upbeat atmosphere. And so far no billing problems, as mentioned in review below. I will miss coming here.

Allstar Healthcare
Have received noting by excellent and professional care by staff at Allstar Healthcare. My specific medical problem has improved considerably. After your initial visit and following visits you tend to become part of their friendly family. I have nothing but kudos for the staff from the admin, medical assistants and clinical staff.

Momentum Physical Therapy
Very disappointed, great staff, great therapist - surprise bill after treatment!!. I was told by the staff that my co-payment was only 13 dollars, but in reality it was 40 dollars. So, after paying my co-payments and finishing treatment, I get a bill for 174.00. This is rediculas! I work for a large company in San Antonio and will send an email to every department about this clinic!! DON'T EVER GET THERAPY OR REHAB AT THIS PLACE!!
Tips & Advices
At the first appointment with a physical therapist, Expect an overall assessment of your condition, which may include exercises to understand your range of motion, balance, and strength. Based on that information, the therapist can then design a regimen.
Physical therapists can work in a variety of environments. While many choose to work in a physical therapy clinic, others will operate out of hospitals and are also able to make house calls to help patients who need in-home assistance and rehabilitation.
Physical therapists can specialize in sports medicine, women's health, geriatric, neurologic, orthopedic, pediatric, and cardiovascular and pulmonary conditions, among others.
See a physical therapist following a serious muscle or bone injury, especially if pain doesn't go away within a few days, is recurring and dull, or is frequent and sharp. Book an appointment if medication is not helping or if your doctor recommends it.
The majority of health insurance plans do include physical therapy treatment, but the amount covered and the co-pay for patients varies person-to-person. Medicare and workers’ compensation both cover physical therapy.
