I hear so many great things about this place. I don't see why.
It's crowded during lunch. It seems greasy and cramped.
Food was average. Prices average.
Service was forgettable.
I'm in no hurry to go back.
Never in my whole life when i have gone out to eat did i ever have a roach come out.I reached for the sugarcatty and a little roach came out.I got off my seat when and told the manger and she apologized and i left while they continued to serve food. This place should be shut down and health inspectors need to investigate.
I have heard great things about this place and have eaten here before a long time ago but this place was horrible!
It was filthy
Bugs crawling on the floor!
Their menu states they serve breakfast at 9 pm and my picky eater wanted breakfast and they weren't "ready " at 10 pm the third time we tried to order her something. Our blt had maybe 1/4 tsp of mayo
This place was a huge disappointment and we will not return or recommend it to others!
I know some one who works there and you don't even want to know what they do the food because they hate there boss
I heard about this place so I had to go and try it out,..the food was great and yes I took there famous cinnamon roll also. The waitress was nice, I never ask for a name but his time I did, her name was Sonia and she did a great job. yes I would or should I say be returning....
I love this place. The chicken fried steaks are the best !!! I also love the cinnamon rolls. We get one every time and always take it home..
Sadly disappointed. Not only was the food just barely edible, but the staff and dirty atmosphere made it an unpleasant experience as well. Our waitress was so slow. It wasn't busy when we went in and no other customers came during our 1.5 hour experience. The waitress took forever to bring our drinks, even longer to bring out the luke warm, greasy food. The 3lb cinnamon roll is huge - but other than that - hard as a rock, and not at all flavorful. Many staff behind the counter stood around gabbing and counting (tip) money out in the open. They should have utilized thier time by cleaning or paying attn to their customers! I felt dirty and smelled of greasy fried food when I left. The cafeteria across the street would have been a better option.
3 words. What a dissappointment! My family and I watch man vs food earlier in the week. My 17 year old and 9 year old decide we have to try it. 2 nights ago 8:30PM we drive into San Antonio to try this ""world famous"" Lulus. WE get seated by a waitress that takes our drink orders and dissappears for 15 minutes before returning with our drinks. . I get the ""famous"" chicken fried steak with mashpotatos and fried okra. My son gets a western omeletn with a side of hashbrowns. My 9 year old gets chicken strips. The waitress disappears for another 30 minutes before checking to see if were ok. By that time we had all needed refills for some time. After roughly 45 minutes, she brings out my chicken fried steak and my 9 year olds chicken tenders. She explains to my 17 year old that the omelet had to be remade. The chicken fried steak was lukewarm and the gravy was flavorless. The mashed potatoes were old and scooped on the plate by a icecream scoop. The roll was hard as a rock. The Okra was the only bright side. It took another 25 minutes to remake my sons omelet and get it brought out to us. Several times while waiting for food, I tried to motion for the waitress just to refill our drinks. The restraunt was half empty and half the waitresses were standing around the register, including mine. After food was finely served, not once did she come out to check the quality and to see if we were happy or needed anything. I finally had to get up and ask another waitress to get us refills. As my son asked for salsa, she replied ""thank you"" and walked back to the front to continue chatting with the other waitresses. Never again. Once you get bad service someplace, it's not easy going back. This is one place I will not be going back to. I could care less about the giant cinnamon role. Two nearby diners said it wasn't as good as expected. It says volumes when diners around you are complaining and it's only 9:30 at night. I thought everything would be fresh and delicious. Wow was I wrong. Hope the review helps. The menu touts how many awards they have recieved. Must all be old awards!!!
I went to try the cinnamon rolls after seeing Man vs Food. I took it home and it was so huge that it literally took days to eat. Our waitress gave us excellent service and aimed to please. Our next visit was to try the chicken fried steak. The portion was so huge that it was also taken home (it fed 3 people plus). If you ever go, you should also try the fried mushrooms... they are to die for! We had the same waitress who gave us FABULOUS service. We got the chicken fried steak, 2 drinks, fried mushrooms and sides and only paid $21.08. What a bargain for a terrific meal and service. We traveled 150 miles for this and it was well worth it!
I called Lulu's late Sat. Night about having a cinnamon roll shipped to Garland Tx. The
woman who answered the phone told me the cost was $6.95 for the roll & $25.00 to ship total $31.95 & to call back Mon.- Wed..
The woman was rather rude. I called back on Mon. morning & ask if they could ship the roll in a USPS large flat rate box for $1495 & anouther woman told me they ship them in USPS MED. Box for $33.95 I said to her it just cost $11.95 to ship them then,
she then told me that the price had gone up on the roll $100 since Sat. (just over 24 hours) and the rest of the difference ($14.05) was for handling. The Post Office picks up flat rate box's for free. Mat Gilmer
