    On October 24, 2016, my wife called in response to a flyer left in the door by Cowboys Air Conditioning and Heating for an A/C service which was to include cleaning, etc.

    This was offered at a special price of $24.95, so my wife called their office, talked with Michelle, and agreed for them to come on Tuesday, October 25, 2016.
    I had a dental appointment that morning so was not at home. When I arrived home, my wife told me the A/C was broken and the repairs were going to cost $4,299.30. A repairman named Miguel had told her (and written on the invoice) the “absorption unit was weak, the surge protector was not working, and the unit was low on R-22.” (The unit uses R-410) He also told her that the compressor was weakening and could soon “go out,” the evaporator coil was leaking and the pressures were running too high.
    His solution was to replace the evaporator coil. He cut the refrigerant lines and drained all the refrigerant from the unit before he left and arranged for other technicians to pick up the evaporator from their warehouse.
    My response was to stop Cowboys from any further work on my A/C. I called the company and cancelled the repairs, informing them that the unit had been working perfectly all summer and up until they started to work on it. We knew that the condenser was prone to get dirty, which was the reason for the service call. I was visited by four service men from Cowboys that afternoon, the last one being Miguel. Miguel appeared to get a bit angry when I refused to believe his story about the defects. I had to tell him to leave.
    I called Jon Wayne A/C Service to put the unit back together. He repaired the unit, recharged and tested it, finding no leaks, and had it running again by about 7:30pm.
    Cowboys was set to take me and my wife for an expensive ride, trying to charge us over $4,000.00 to replace a part that was not defective. As it was, I had to pay $727.00 to repair a unit that was not broken.

    We called today because our air conditioner upstairs stop working three days ago. We called our service company and they said we could use a third party contractor. I called Cowboys heating of air of San Antonio and the customer serice representative was very helpful in explaing the different programs they had available. We chose the yearly maintenance program for 179.00 and 50.00 for the additional unit. Danny the contractor came out with a big smile on his face . We was very friendly and knowledgeable about the unit and explained what was missing and how we could repair it for us. We were completely satisfied that we fixed our air conditioner within an hour. thank you Danny and Cowboys.

    Excellent prompt service! The technicians are courteous, professional and really care about their customers. I called Cowboys when my AC stopped working because every other company charged $69 and up to check for problems and Cowboys only charges $19.99. They told me they would be at our house between 12 and 4. They showed up a little before noon and as they were inspecting the unit they explained everything they were looking at. Once they found the problem they quoted me a price, which I approved, and fixed it right away. Cowboys has awesome customer service and are reasonably priced. I will definitely call them again if I encounter any more problems.

    Their technician came into my home said my AC couldn't cool the house because the filter was dirty. The same filter they replaced when I got their tune up service the one that is supposed to last 3 months. While my wife who is 9 months pregnant was trying to explain this to him he continued to talk over her constantly. Until I chimed and and politely asked him to leave. He then tried to talk over my self and explain. I then had to inform him that he is being disrespectful to my wife and he needs to leave to which he turned said something about disrespecting him and slammed my front door. I called and reported to which Cowboys informed me that they would inform his supervisor. This guy comes into my home basically yells at my wife and all you do is say you will report it to his supervisor. Sub-par resolution to this incident. Will not be using them again.

    Overpriced and Poor Service--

    Cowboys A/C sent a sales person instead of an A/C Technician to service a/c. They send out a/c installers in the middle of the night. Did not install correctly and found our hallway full of gas after the installation-- putting family and home at risk. The owner came out to check gas leak and asked to borrow a tool (!!OMG!!) from me to attempt a repair!! Had to call CPS to check the gas leak before Cowboys sent out a second repairman to make appropriate repair. Company sells overpriced units not even meeting minimum efficiency. Very inefficient installation and inefficient repair services. Sadly, my utility bill is higher than it ever has been.
