Thomas M Demoor MD
Dr. DeMoor is the best psychiatrist in San Antonio. He actually takes adequate time with them, has a balanced careful approach to his care, and helped me a lot while I was in Medical School seeing him as a patient. I now travel from Houston just to still see him for appointments.

Focus & Balance
There is a shortage of psychiatrists in San Antonio, where this office is located in the heart of. They will deny you based off of the way you speak (despite them being 'mental health care' and having background on bipolar disorder. Yes, they will DENY to see you based you using an INKLING of "PROFANITY" on the phone when you call them EVEN with the correct insurance and having your insurance call them to confirm they will DENY you. I did not use profanity DIRECTED at anyone in the 'call center' it was me venting my frustration that they kept referring me to different people in the office and different numbers that hung up on me so ANYONE can understand my frustration but not someone who DOESN'T understand mental health care so I hope people realize and don't give a CENT of their money to a place like this, ALSO if you look up multiple reviews on different websites, they have a PATIENT ABANDONMENT problem so keep that in mind!

Integrity Senior Care, LLC
I first heard about Integrity Senior Care from a commercial on a local Christian radio station. It led me to 3 years of wonderful companionship for my 92 year old father. He was treated like a family member and not just a client. And, he thought of them as friends - not just caregivers. The day I heard about Integrity Senior Care was the day I was able to rest assured my father's days were safe, secure, and comfortable. I can not recommend them enough.Elden E. S

Alamo Mental Health Group
Absolute dissapointment, both the staff and the doctors. The staff are inefficient, rude, incompetent. Dr. Javen Cavazos simply throws people meds to their face without listening and considering your concerns. She doesn't take into account your comorbidities and she doesn't do a thorough assessment. It is because of people like her thst disgraces the medical profession and the stigma psychiatrists carry for doing exactly what she does. I don't know how MDs like her received a medical license. It's extremely frustrating and quite dangerous to end up in the hands of people like her and her staff. The reviews show a very common pattern. DO NOT MAKE AN APPOINTMENT WITH THEM. Your health is important and should be taken seriously.

Same experience as nochyodaddeh. They withhold pay. And that is just the beginning of the circus act. I have never worked with more unprofessional people.

Girling Health Care
Im not a person in need of home health care... met a person who is a home health provider and basically the person just clocked in as soon as she got to the job and only stayed 30 minutes into her shift and went home... staff doesn't keep up with workers and some clients try to make deals with their providers... also this one female provider on the south side is a ice addict and I already been told that the company doesn't do random drug tests as well... how can we trust these workers who are addicts plus not know what all they do... I know privacy terms and everything but still... home health care providers should be clean and drug free not crack heads just coming to people's home for a short stay just to get a check... Im willing to bet if the company actually did do a pop drug test... they may be amazed of who comes up dirty and who doesnt
Tips & Advices
A child psychiatrist is a medical doctor who specializes in issues that affect the mental and emotional health of children and teens. Child psychiatrists can provide treatment for children and teenagers who suffer from depression, autism, anxiety disorders, attention disorders, drug addictions, eating disorders, mood disorders, and a wide range of behavioral problems.
Psychiatrists typically ask questions that focus  on the issues that are having a negative effect on your life. In an initial visit with a psychiatrist, you may be asked about symptoms you've experienced, and ways in which you've tried to deal with them. You might be asked about current and past medical conditions, as well asa family health history.
A referral is an authorization from your doctor saying that a certain type of treatment is medically necessary, and it's usually required if you want your insurance company to cover the costs associated with a visit to a psychiatrist. If you don't have insurance, a referral is not required to schedule a psychiatrist visit.
Psychiatrists and psychologists sometimes collaborate, and this typically takes place when working with patients who have serious mental health problems. In cases like this, a psychologist will treat the patient from a behavioral perspective. A psychiatrist will complement this treatment with care that handles issues concerning biology, neurology, and the prescription of drugs.
Many psychiatrists specialize in treating certain conditions. Some psychiatrists focus on substance abuse therapy, and this is the treatment of addiction to substances like alcohol, narcotics, and tobacco. Others specialize in biological psychiatry, which is the treatment of brain chemistry disorders like depression and schizophrenia. Psychiatrists might also specialize in treating elderly patients or children and adolescents.
