Texas Plastic Surgery - Dr. Jaime Garza
Hello. This is Dr. Jaime Garza responding to the review written on 7/14/2011 by "beautiful":I am so sorry that you didn't get the results that you wanted, and I'm sorry that you didn't have the positive experience most of my patients have. I certainly remember you and your surgeries. I first performed a rhinoplasty on you over 7 years ago. It is my understanding, reviewing our records, that you were quite happy with your results at your three month and twelve month postoperative visits and that you even requested a second operation after your three month visit on another facial structure to further enhance your appearance, which I performed to your satisfaction. I certainly wish that I could have your permission to post your photographs so that you would be able to see that your ethnicity was not only maintained but enhanced as you requested and I agreed with. There is no evidence in your postoperative photographs of a crooked nose or a pointy tip. I last saw you 2 ½ years after your initial surgery and all was well at that appointment. We never heard from you again until my office saw this review. If I fail to provide the best result possible given the limitations of the patient’s individual features, I'm always willing to make things right. Unfortunately, unless a patient tells me they're not happy with their results, I cannot address the problem effectively. Because of the disparity in our views of your results, I want to make sure that we do not have our wires crossed and that you are actually the patient that we are referring to in this response. I am more than willing to make every attempt to address and resolve the issues you have raised to your satisfaction. Every patient matters to me, so I hope that you will call my office to clear up any misunderstanding that may have occurred. Sincerely and respectfully. Jaime R. Garza, MD, DDS, FACS

Primo Medical Supplies
There are a lot of medical device companies in san antonio but we choose to give my business to this dme provider as our friends used them before and they liked this medical equipment supplier a lot and have recommended it to us as well when we were in need of one. This medical equipment store carries products from mckesson, medline , pedifix, FLA orthopedic products, JOBST compression stockings and so on. We needed a few medical supplies so we walked into this medical supply store to get a raised toilet seat with arms, bath and shower chair with padded seat and also have rented a full electric medical bed with hospital bed mattress and bed rails. They have these products in display as well so you can get a feel of these products before you buy it or rent them. We also got some miscellaneous wound care supplies such as the bandage dressing, wound care cleaning products such as gauze, medical tape, wound dressing supplies. We have also got the hammer toe products from pedifix, they also have a vast product line of foot care products as well in display. We were also interested in bathroom rails, wheelchair cushions and some safety products but we had spent a lot than we have anticipated for, so we would make a trip back in the next few days to get more medical products from them. They were very friendly and have given us a lot of insight on the medical products we needed. We would definitely use this dme company in the future again as well. The only reason why we did this review because our friends who recommended us this place said that they initially had a bad time with a medical supply company before so we thought it would be helpful for others who are in need of medical supply products for there family. Thank you Primo Medical!

I bought my new portable cpap machine at this cpap supply store in San Antonio. I bought my old cpap which is resmed airsense 10 from an online store and it was under warranty but I had to send it back and it took a few days for the cpap to be fixed. I had torrid nights sleeping without my cpap machine. I was annoyed with them. A friend of mine then referred me to primo medical supplies he said he had an issue with his fisher paykel cpap machine. Then he took his cpap machine to them and they have provided him with a alternative cpap machine for no additional charge until his machine has been fixed. That was so nice of them, he said. We pay a few extra dollars at this medical equipment stores than online stores but if they are taking care of us when we have problems.I would stick to these small businesses itself. I don't make my money in a easy way so I would love to save every bit of it but for my medical needs or anyone's health needs. I would recommend people to stick to these medical supply stores who help there neighbors and take care of them. Even though the transcend cpap machine is cheaper online I got it from this store as friend is completely satisfied with them. I endorse this store to anyone who needs medical supplies in San Antonio. Go primo!!!

Portable Oxygen concentrators are hard to find in san antonio. I came across this medical equipment rental place last year when i had a family emergency. I had to rent a portable oxygen concentrator as my oxygen saturation levels are not good at higher altitudes. I constantly monitor it using a finger pulse oximeter which is very handy. Anyways, i had rented the portable oxygen concentrator from this medical supply store a few times now. It is very easy to use and light weight. I had rented the Inogen G2, Inogen G3 , simply go by respironics and oxilife independence portable concentrators for my trips. I liked the Inogen G3 as it is easy to carry around. The Oxilife independence and simply go concentrators do continuos flow and pluse flow. Initially , i needed one with continuous flow rate so i had to rent those but now all i need is a pulse flow. I had a hard time initially when i had to research on the portable oxygen concentrators. So, i am also posting the pictures that i have, so that way it would be helpful for familys and users who are new to oxygen. One last thing they also had airsep focus concentrator it was very compact but can only do 2 liters pulse i.e was not suitable to me. Hope my review helps the familys and users of the oxygen machines.

Saw and was treated by this doctor for a bilateral inguinal hernia repair. Truely amazing doctor. Office wait was moderate length. Told me from the very beginning in good detail what he was going to do with the mesh. Listens and responds extremely well which seems to be somewhat rare for alot of doctors. Went to NE baptist to get my surgery taken care of by him. The hospital wait was 2-3 hours overall but once I was wheeled in and put to sleep, I was awake before I knew it with 2 scars on my groin. Hospital staff was very courteous and friendly, great nurses, as well as his own staff at his office. Pain was alot for me at first, but this was my very first surgical procedure. Was put on some basic hydros and the doc put a pain belt on me that was connected to my 2 nerves in my groin that greatly eased the pain with regular set injections of numbing meds. Overall I'm greatly satisfied with how it went and how I feel now after 2 weeks recovery and am very pleased to not have any of the problems I've currently had for years now with my 2 hernias and can now live a normal active healthy life again. It does take a while for your body to get used to the mesh though. Would recommend this doc to just about anybody. 5 stars.

Gonzaba Medical Group
Was planning to change to another practice until I found out we were moving out of state. I originally switched to this office because it was closer to our home. I've had three doctors and a couple of them spoke English with such a heavy Hispanic accent that even I had trouble understanding them and I've lived all over the world and have been exposed to many accents. My next complaint is that almost every time my prescriptions were changed or I changed pharmacies and gave them the new one, they'd send the prescription to the old one or fail to renew at least one of the prescriptions. The people were all friendly, but friendly doesn't help if they continually get something else wrong. There is a huge turnover in the Gonzaba Medical Group from what I can tell in doctors. One of the best they have is Dr. Denise Tarver. She only takes Medicare patients and is wonderful and thorough. Unless you get her first appt of the day or after lunch, expect a long wait because she doesn't herd her patients through like cattle and is constantly running late. But I'd rather she take her time and study my mom's records, although it's hard on the elderly to have to wait that long though, especially when a patient is over 90.

My mom is a COPD patient and is on oxygen for most of the time. She has a home oxygen concentrator machine and uses the tanks when she goes out. It is cumbersome for her to handle the tanks by herself and these oxygen tanks don't give her the freedom to go any place on her own. So I have been researching on this portable oxygen concentrators for a while. I wanted to make sure she would like it so I have rented the Invacare Platinum Portable Oxygen machine for a week and Inogen G4 POC for a week. The Inogen oxygen machine was light in weight which weighs about 3 lbs approximately but goes until 3 liters per minute. Where as the Invacare oxygen concentrator weighs until more but it goes until 4 lpm. The invacare oxygen concentrator has the batteries on the top of the machine which she liked the most and the unit she uses at home is also a invacare perfect o2 concentrator. So she choose to go with the invacare platinum portable machine. I am glad that I have rented the oxygen machine before I have bought it. Primo Medical Supply did a good job in educating us with this POC units. I have also bought a knee brace for my self and I liked it as well.

Bandera Family Health Care
Bandera Family Health Care with Dr. Ramon Reyes and his wonderful assistants and staff provide the best health care in the San Antonio, TX Metro area. Reyes is a wise and capable doctor. His rapid dianosis and actions very possibly prevented my death when he determined I was infected with an e-coli infection. He initiated action and treatment that brought my temperature down from 105 to normal and continued treatment and medication till the terrible issue was resolved.. Over the past several years he continues to treat any of my ills with great success. Furthermore, his assistants and staff provide me fast, friendly, and excellent care and attention. He continues to add medical facilities/staff that provide one-stop examinations; thus, many times, eliminating the need to drive around the medical center area seeking exams. His facility is growing and expanding and I recommend my family and friends utilize him and his facilities. Again - Dr. Ramon saved my life. To me, he and his facility/staff are number one. My wife injured her leg and she wasn't able to walk and we needed a wheelchair with an elevated leg rest so she can keep her leg elevated. So we have rented a wheelchair from this medical equipment place for a few days. When the doctor said she can start walking little by little then we approached this medical supply company again and they had couple of alternatives which is a knee walker and iwalk 2.0 (similar to the crutch). So we have rented knee walker for a few days and also bought an iwalk as my wife had to climb the stairs. The knee walker was good when she had to walk long distances. The iwalk 2.0 crutch was very helpful with stairs. Finally after few months when she was getting better and the doc suggested a walking boot and this place also had the walking boots which is also known as a cam walker. The price quoted at the doc's office was much more higher than they had. This is a one stop shop for medical equipment rental and purchases. I would definitely recommend primo medical supplies to everyone.

Dr. William, So sorry that I’ve gone to urgent care. Never thought they could have received me with a doctor, but God knows no energy is. I really have suffered. Also maybe because I didn’t want to have heart surgery that has never bothered me. The cardiologist told it was from birth. I hear they call it a murmur. I hardly never read the papers that I get at my appt. Only I started off balance than on top of it I fell. Luckily I didn’t break my ribs and Melissa Gonzales saw me at Urgent Care. But you don’t know how much I’m grateful. I should have gone to the hospital. There’s no words to express myself to all your employees. They’re very kind and willing to help me. I was an orphan. My Dad died when I was 3, my Mom in 1938 so I didn’t have any school. I would go to the field to pick cotton. Those times were hard, but at least I learned a little 3rd grade. Well again, I just wanted to thank you. May the Lord richly bless you. My God I brought back the 30. Sra Dora Villarreal
Tips & Advices
This depends on the facility. Patients should call to find out if they'll need a referral from their physician prior to making an appointment.
Aside from hyperbaric oxygen treatment, most wound care centers offer:
  • Debridement: The removal of dead skin and tissue surrounding the wound. This can be done surgically, using a whirlpool bath, syringes, enzymes that dissolve the tissue, or wet dressings that dry on the wound and absorb the dead tissue.
  • Dressing: Wrapping the wound in a protective film, gauze, gel, or foam.
  • Compression stockings: Tight-fitted fabric sheaths that encourage blood flow.
  • Artificial skin: A covering that is applied to the wound for several days as it heals.
  • Ultrasound: The use of sound waves to promote healing.
  • Growth factor therapy: The use of materials naturally produced by the body to encourage quick cell growth.
  • Negative pressure therapy: Creating a vacuum around a wound to encourage faster blood flow to the area.
Depending on where the treatment is administered, hyperbaric oxygen treatment  can cost $100- $1,000. After insurance is applied, patients may have a copay of $10 -$50 or a coinsurance fee of 10 percent to 50 percent.
Most wounds should heal within two to six weeks. An individual should seek chronic wound treatment if a wound has not begun to heal after two weeks or is not completely healed after six.
Most health insurance plans cover wound care. Patients should check with the clinic and their health insurance provider before seeking treatment to be sure.
