St. Mark's Hospital
We had to use the emergency room at the hospital. While the doctors and technicians were professional and we received good care, I cannot give 5 stars due to their billing practices. They have 5 levels of emergencies, and I can't find out who decides what level you are. My husband had a panic attack/anxiety which was labeled a level 3 out of 5. The total bill was $867 for the hospital + $160 for the doctor. They don't tell you the doctor will be separate, they don't tell you how much anything will cost, and you aren't given any options for treatment. They just bill you later, at which point trying to figure out what you were billed for is impossible. The bill does not come itemized, it's lump sum, and you can't get them to separate the bill because (I was told) a level three is just $867, doesn't matter what it was for or what equipment you required. The bill is turned over to a third party who cannot tell you anything about your bill other than the total amount due and the date you were billed. The hospital says they will assign a nurse to review your case, but they never do. Beware when going in here that nobody will tell you upfront what the cost will be. And if you're one day late on the payment, they call it due in full! We have a high deductible plan and ended up paying for most of this ourselves. I guess they just think they can bill insurance whatever cost and they'll pay, but not all of us are fully covered so we need to start asking how much it will cost so hospitals can't just bill you for whatever.

Magelby Bruce L General Dentistry DDS PC
Review for Dr. Bruce Magleby, DDSI have been to many dentists for various reasons and have found Dr. Bruce Magleby to be most amazing in all aspects of dental care. Dr. Magleby is the kind of dentist one actually looks forward to visiting. He is the last of the young "good old down home dentists". He always acts excited to see each patient, he's fun to be around, has fun new stories and jokes every time you visit, he treats you like you're one of his best friends. He takes his time to make sure your dental care is perfect. He’s extremely knowledgeable, considerate, thorough, accurate, careful, honest, only does the dental work and crowns deemed necessary. His “specialistist referrals” for Endodontics, Periodontics, and Orthodontics, are the best and most reasonably priced in the industry. His office is always clean and sanitary, plenty of magazines but not enough time to read them because Dr Magleby is so timely and punctual. His dental office is centrally located from Salt Lake City to Draper and beyond.Best of all... His Receptionist is super nice and really effficient! Both Dr. Magleby and his receptionist will have you leaving with a beautiful smile! You may find yourself sending your friends and family to Dr. Magleby because you’ll like him so well!

Smart Dental Care
I have been a patient of Smart Dental Care for over 20 years and I love going to the dentist. The office is warm and inviting. From the time you walk in the door, you are greeted by a friendly staff and treated with respect and kindness. The hygienists are very thorough with their work. They make sure to pay attention to any sensitivity you may have to light, sound, and heat/cold. They discuss their procedures with you and answer any questions you may have. Drs. Smart and Clark are terrific dentists. I appreciate that they spend time with each patient. I have seen them calm the fears of little children. I have also witnessed them chatting about sports with their elderly patients. When I had to have major dental work performed, Dr. Smart walked through the details of the procedure and let me know what to expect. Afterwards when I needed a correction made on my crowns, the staff slid me right in to fix them so that I was not uncomfortable. Recently, I had to make an emergency appointment for a chipped tooth. Dr. Clark discovered that I had loosened a filling with my flossing. He was able to fix it and send me on my way. If you are looking for a dental office that is honest, friendly, and professional you need to contact Smart Dental Clinic.

Lakeside Dental
I have been coming to see Dr. Luke since he opened his practice years ago. We recently moved 30 min north of his office, but I refuse to see anyone but him. I love going to the dentist because he and Addie are so caring and thorough. They remember my family and ask about things we've talked about previous visits, showing they actually listen to and care about their patients. He discusses treatment options with me instead of just telling me what needs to be done so I can have an input in my dental care. When my daughter is old enough to start seeing a dentist, Dr. Luke and Addie are the only people I will trust her with, but in the mean time he takes a few min at the end of my visits to let het sit in the chair and pick out a toothbrush so she won't be scared of coming to see him. There is no one better!

MediCruiser Family Practice & House Calls
When i went there years ago they were very good at helping me. And with the antidepressants and outher medications they gave me and outhers, well it's for a reason. The head MD is a very intelligent person his research on medications and outher drugs is unbelievable. His book in the office I got a chance to take one home and the research he put into that book was incredible. Depression and mood is very much part of underlining pain control. The people who wrote bad reviews just didnt get there fix, ya your just junkies and they know there not stupid its what the do dayday in day out. So that is my 2 cents. Thanks Mike Mead.

Hal Pollock DDS
I had a dental emergency when my permanent retainer came loose. He got me in the same day and removed it. He was also able to buff out some white spots on my teeth that were decalcification spots from when I had braces 20 years ago! They look so much better now. Why has no other dentist offered to do that for me before?? He also replaced a filling for me that was breaking and the new one is great. He is a very nice guy. Dr. Pollock was great with my kids when they had their teeth cleaned. I was very happy with him and will continue to go to his office.

Foothill Dental
I took my three year old in for his first cleaning. I was nervous because I know the difference a good dentist (and his staff) can make when dealing with a child. This staff is amazing! They took the time to talk to my three year old and make him comfortable. He loves the dentist (and hopefully we can keep his teeth healthy so that doesn't have to change) and can't wait to go back. They were also really great with us adults as well (but we don't count as much). I will be referring anyone that asks me about a dentist here.

Lakeside Dental
Due to a cycling accident 12 years ago, my jaw had begun deteriorating, unbeknownst to me. But when I was at Lakeside Dental, Dr. Luke noticed, and sent me to get my jaw rebuilt . Then he and Abby created a beautiful set of implants--much nicer than my real teeth--and installed them. I can eat hamburgers and pizza again! Dr. Luke is very capable and personable. His priority is obviously quality dental care for each of his patients. Anybody who says otherwise is not being honest. I wouldn't go to any other dentist.

Oberg, Thomas J, MD
I am turning 40 this year and starting to notice that I'm looking older, but I've always been reluctant to try botox or fillers because I didn't want to look unnatural or "overdone". But now I am so glad I saw Dr. Oberg and let him help me look younger! I'm so happy with the result and don't feel that the look is artificial at all. Dr. Oberg is very skilled, and I'm very glad I actually saw a plastic surgeon to have this done. He also has a very kind bedside manner. I will definitely be going back!

Powell, David, DDS, All Care Dentistry
I just moved to this area. When I looked for a dentist, I noticed that Dr. Powell earned 5 star rating for all of the reviews. I decided to visit Dr. Powell for my dental needs. My experience tells me that Dr. Powell and his clinic deserve the highest rating for their services. I visited the office for teeth filling and routine cleaning. They did a wonderful job. They are friendly and explained the problem clearly. I felt comfortable during the visits. I am going to use Dr. Powell as my family dentist.
Tips & Advices
  • If a tooth decays and the nerves or pulp (soft internal tissue which helps teeth develop) become inflamed or infected
  • If a tooth is cracked or broken and nerves are exposed
This generally depends on any specific issues you wish to address with your teeth. There are toothpastes designed to whiten teeth, fight cavities, decrease sensitivity, prevent bad breath, resist gingivitis, and those specific to children (with lower fluoride content). There are also toothpastes that offer “complete” protection by combining aspects of many of the above toothpastes.
It’s recommended to get a professional cleaning at least two times per year.
  • Desensitizing toothpaste numbs the nerves in the teeth that can cause discomfort.
  • Mouth guard can protect against grinding teeth during sleep.
  • Fluoride treatment can be applied by dentists to sensitive areas to numb teeth and strengthen enamel.
  • Root canal can treat problems in a tooth’s core.
  • Surgical gum graft where a piece of gum tissue is removed from a section of the mouth to cover an exposed root.
Not everyone needs to have their wisdom teeth removed, but there are certain signs that can help you and your doctor determine if yours should be:
  • Wisdom teeth are pushing other teeth around, causing pain and misalignment
  • Cysts form around newly emerged wisdom teeth, causing jaw damage
  • Gums get inflamed and swollen, causing cavities and pain
  • Doctor determine from x-rays that wisdom teeth will cause problems in the near future
